  1. They've had 2 games against Ottawa right? That'll boost anyone's defensive numbers.

  2. Well, this is some great news!

  3. People here (myself included) widely credit Matt Nichols for bringing us back to respectability. Bryant was just as big (if not a bigger) factor in rebuilding the team..

  4. As of today, it looks like the Riders will host the West Semi and the Bombers the West Final. Lots of football left, of course. Both teams are one injury away from derailing their season. Now tell me, who doesn't want a rematch of the 2019 West Final but right here at IG Field (East)? That would be so much fun!

I don't know how hospital staff have managed to deal with this for so long. Bloody hero's they are.

  8. DB went from Grant looks "a ways off yet" to "is ready to come off the 6 game and play..." in pretty short order....

  9. Yeah the last couple years its been like "we keep giving this award to Bryant, we need to change it up". Van Zeyl winning it over Stanley in 2019 was a ****ing joke, and him getting turnstilled in the Grey Cup was proof positive.

Yes, we missed on the RBs free space but, otherwise, the schedule has lined up well for us. Halfway through the season, where we went 6 and 1, before our first bye.

At least they are providing plenty of evidence that vaccines and restrictions work? Unfortunately also that having pockets of unvaccinated people that don't care about restrictions can mess with anything resembling herd immunity.

  19. They are bad but they seem slightly better than last season... so far Reilly hasn't taken a s**t-kicking like he did in 2019. They haven't played our front 4 yet though so that might just be a matter of time.

Wealthy people won't move away. That's right wing nonsense. We tax income, not wealth. The "rich" still need to earn income, regardless of where they live.

  22. No run game no chance If we are teeing off on pass rush all game this will be over by half time

  23. Burn-em and Whitehead can kill our DB's if we give Reilly time to get it to them. To do that, IMO, they'll have to establish the run, and I haven't seen them do that this year. BC lives and dies on the big play. Bombs and speed on offence. Picks and pass break-ups on defence. It will come down to how many 50-50 balls they complete on offence and how many picks they get on defence. I like out chances.

  24. MOP team nominees (all full season projections are for an imagined 18 game season) BC - Lucky Whitehead edges out Michael Reilly. QBs usually get more attention here, and Reilly has some very good numbers (pro-rated over a full season, 4,782 yards, 74% completion percentage, 26-3 TD-INT ratio, and an almost video game-like 117.8 passer rating), but Lucky on pace for 92 catches, 1,710 yards, 10 TDs. Cal - Kamer Jordan takes it with the QB injury and minimal running game. On pace for a 100 catch season. Edm - James Wilder Jr. on pace for just shy of 1,500 yards on the ground. Sask - Cody Fajardo is still the straw that stirs the Riser drink, despite decent years from William Powell and Kyran Moore carrying the load with Shaq Evans out. Fajardo on pace for over 4,200 yards and a 72.3% completion rate, as well as 738 yards rushing. The 18-18 TD-INT ratio is not good though. Wpg - Quite a case could be made for any one of 3 Bomber defenders to be up for this award, given how much defence has propelled this team to the top of the standings, especially in the first 4 games while the offence found its footing. But this is almost exclusively an offensive prize, so Zach Collaros is the easy choice. Projects to 4,452 yards, 70% completion rate, 26-10 TD-INT ratio, and 105.3 passer rating. Tor - With the QBs splitting duties and no real receivers jumping off the page, give it to John White IV Ham - With all the offensive injuries, the biggest offensive threat has been returner Frankie Williams Jr. Ott - Good luck finding an MOP in this motley crew on offence, so unless a defensive player gets picked, return threat Devonte Dedman has been a lone standout for them. Mtl - William Stanback is head and shoulders above all others on the team, on pace for a league-beat 1,854 yards rushing. West nominee - Wins and losses are a factor when considering award winners, so Zach Collaros would be my nominee (funny that if Lucky Whitehead gets selected for BC, Collaros is the favourite, but if Reilly gets chosen, he might beat out Collaros since the writers look hard at stats and Reilly has better numbers across the board). East nominee - William Stanback takes this running away (pun intended). Winner - Collaros becomes the 5th Bomber QB and 8th Bomber overall to be named the league’s best. And if the league did what I wish they did and made it a top 3 nominees, multiple selections for one team allowed, then it would be Collaros, Reilly, and Whitehead as the finalists. Thoughts?

  26. Defend the 50/50 balls and the Bombers win. Simple. They have no run game. Chew the clock, put a couple scores in early and Rielly will put up 50/50 balls every second down.

  33. Actually, I think the riders would have to go 6-1... since the Bombers hold the tie-breaker... the riders need to outright win in the standings... you can't call riderfans an echo-chamber who shouts down any contrarian... and then post this... (well, I guess you can do whatever you want... it's just hypocritical )

  35. Reilly is an always has been mobile. very adept at getting away from pressure. but as his age with his mileage on him you crank him a few times he gets jumpier than he used to.

I know it’s meaningless, as far as outcome, but why have Pionk and Copp in the shootout? Let the young guys have a chance.

  37. Gotta make him hold the ball. He uses mobility to create time to throw. Take away the deep stuff and he will get frustrated.

  38. Reilly isn't a mobile QB? News to me. Maybe doesn't run as good as he used to but is still mobile.

  39. I have no clue why we couldn't play ottawa at least once this year, all these back to backs,3/4 games against the same team in a 9 team league and we can't play them? I wanted Buck to show Lapo that quarterbacks can throw further than 5 yards.
