  3. @DarrinBauming · 1h Richie Hall says Steven ‘Stove’ Richardson is “just coming into his own… he’s strong as heck.” Adds that the #Bombers’ stalwart defensive tackle is “ecstatic” to return to Winnipeg’s starting lineup

  4. Yup and me and Brad Pitt are comparably handsome. I like the confidence though

  5. Wilson...Biggie...Darby with the Roq and Briggs for rotation where needed...me likes....even more if the Stove is front and center

  6. No comments about the assumption that the riders will be in the West final?

  7. Not fair that we didn't get Ottawa thi year. Ah well just need to keep kicking the West's butt.

  10. We don't talk about the role of the Board. And, that's a good thing because they've stayed out of the way.

  11. I dunno, having 2 wins in the bank against BC I don't see how anyone passes them at this point. Unless they totally **** their pants against the stamps...

  12. People were really down on Stanley after his first year but that was more of an issue of the talent that was surrounding him.

Now this is good to hear. I hope these types of stories start to take over the conversation.

  17. Aside from the obvious talent infusion, it cannot be overstated how important the continuity in the front office and coaching staff has been to developing a consistent culture. Wade Miller came in and wasn’t afraid to step on toes to get the business side working, but knew to let the football ops do their thing without him being overbearing and without threat of firing if it wasn’t fixed quickly. Kyle Walters was freed of the shackles of Joe Mack, and brought in McManus and Goveia as assistants and they built slowly but deliberately. Mike O’Shea brought in at the same time, and given the time to grow into the job, despite fans screaming for his head many times after the 5-13 season, the BC playoff loss in 2016, the home playoff loss in 2017, the West Final loss in 2018, even up to halftime of the 2019 West semi. O’Shea brought in LaPo and Hall to head up his offence and defence, and instead of fearing that he might be replaced by another former head coach (as he was once asked by the media), he embraced the wealth of knowledge they brought to the table and saw it as an asset to have 3 de facto head coaches on staff, even (again) when games screamed for changes with every setback. Hard to believe now, but Hall had his head on a platter as much as LaPo did in 2019 until the final 30 minutes against Calgary. Promotions came from within for line coach, special teams, and QB coach to OC, showing loyalty and continuity. All this to say that PATIENCE (a dirty word to sports fans, especially in a 9 team league where turnaround can happen quickly in either direction) to allow the parts to mesh has gotten us to where we are today, and that culture shift starts from the top down, when egos are shelved and all know they have security to build it up the right way.

  20. I think Matty was the right guy at the right time but it was the rebuild of the OL that year that made the difference and let's be clear our offence was not great until Andrew Harris made his way over from BC. Bryant was our first big FA signing of the new regime and he was essential as he returned credibility to us. Randle Island can never be forgotten for it's impact on our secondary. Matty Ice being available for peanuts and outplaying his expectations was huge, Travis Bond, Jemarcus Hardrick, and Goosen were a revelation along our OL....but Harris....Harris was a key point in recent Bomber history. We were a below average team before him.

  23. As of today, it looks like the Riders will host the West Semi and the Bombers the West Final. Lots of football left, of course. Both teams are one injury away from derailing their season. Now tell me, who doesn't want a rematch of the 2019 West Final but right here at IG Field (East)? That would be so much fun!

  24. Yeah the last couple years its been like "we keep giving this award to Bryant, we need to change it up". Van Zeyl winning it over Stanley in 2019 was a ****ing joke, and him getting turnstilled in the Grey Cup was proof positive.

  25. nope...It's because anyone with any sense that knows anything realizes they will be the 3rd place team this year, and the 3rd place team this year wont do what a 3rd place team did in 2019

  27. With Stove and Grant possibly being activated this week and maybe Wilson also, the Bombers need to either hide people on the IR or make some cuts. Our PR is full with 18 people (13 PR and 5 CFL PR).

I mean christ Jason kenney cut the corporate tax rate first thing in Alberta and companies took that cash and moved anyway.

  30. To be honest - it's just a thankless job. Most linemen don't get credit where it is due. They're also usually the first ones thrown under the bus when the offense is in a rut.

One of the interesting proposals that I heard of a few years ago was a "wealth transfer tax of 2% or so. If it was instituted by all the democracies, it would prevent the threat of the mega-rich packing up and moving to wherever they could get the best deal for themselves.

no shortage of fact based papers confirming this. The highest gains since ww 2 for average people occurred when the top tax rate was 90 %. funny thing is how the guy red herring everyone. I posted a link to some polling..... he responds with something about Trudeau. lol.

  33. Seems like just an idea. I don't know what Hodge is thinking we give up for a pending FA kicker but it should be 3rd round pick and up/or neg list at most.

  39. I was JUST going to say that it can't possibly be any worse at QB for the RBs, so if I was a part of their fan base (thank Christ I'm not...) I would actually be excited about this. We already know their two veterans can't get it done....at least with the Devil You Don't, there's a chance....??
