  1. "If that is a tribute to indigenous peoples. It’s a fail. I’m sure some people appreciate it. I’m sure they could have covered the logo in x’s or o’s and claim it honours indigenous peoples as well and some would appreciate it." Welcome to Saskatchewan. For context : "As a part of this commitment, the club is honoured to unveil a new, star-blanket themed logo designed by local Anishinaabe artist and star blanket designer Dené Sinclair. Matching precisely the team’s colours, the logo will be used during the October 8th game against the Edmonton Elks alongside an honouring ceremony for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day" "In First Nations and Métis traditions, being gifted with a star blanket is a high honour. Sewn or stitched in the middle with the image of a morning star – the brightest light in a dawn sky – a star blanket is given to leaders in a community and wrapped around their shoulders in ceremony. To design and create a star blanket, Indigenous creators have to find a delicate balance between mathematics and art, focusing on precision and creativity while ensuring nothing is out of sync." Wear it with pride, I think it looks awesome.

  2. They're just trash. EDIT: Adding for clarity, the poster is just trash. Not all of RF or Saskatchewan. I have family in Saskatchewan - they're trash but their neighbours aren't.

  6. Fans aren't born, they're created. You can't just expect people to show up you have to get asses in the seats and make people care about the game by being entertained. I heard a bit from the new bc owner and he said something along the lines of I don't care how you do it, get kids into the stands. Pay to bus them in, buy them hotdogs, whatever. And he is right.

  8. Reading this had me thinking of these guys: Michael O'Shea vs a Hurricane - who would win?? "O'Shea, yeah O'Shea". But....the name of the Hurricane is "Hurricane Michael O'Shea".....ok hmmm...."O'Shea". Going with only 11 players on offense is start, but in order to keep the Elks within 100 points of the Bombers, perhaps Mr. Collaros should play the entire game in a lazy boy recliner....da Bombers!

    2021 (??) CFL Season

I literally get emotional when I think about Streveler's play in 2019... especially in the playoffs... With a nearly broken ankle, he was truckin guys AND out-running them... would not take a play off, no matter what... that guy was absolute heart and soul... even if he never plays another snap for the Bombers... he's already a legend in Winnipeg... Also had more TD passes in the GC than Zach 😁

  10. That logo.......designed by a respected indigenous graphic designer........is spectacular. Also of note, the orange jerseys that the team is wearing during warm-ups will be auctioned off after the game for charities that get indigenous youth into sports. I'm hoping to bid on one myself....great jersey, and even better cause. I think it would be in Edmonton....a lot more confidence with a home game. But honesty, you could say every game from here on out is a trap game...

  14. I've never seen a player like Streveler. On paper, statistically, if you didn't know the Bombers, didn't do much. But as a Bomber fan, his on field impact, what he brought to the team, how badly he wanted to win - absolutely legendary, and such a key part of the Grey Cup season. I've said it before, one of the best football players (not QB) I've ever seen. Every player, coach, fan would love to have him on their team.

  18. Bunch of losers over RF whining that the Indigenous logo on our helmets is lame, one guy had no clue whatsoever what it was for. Took 2 seconds to figure out and I'd say it's a classy touch to do so for what's gone on with residential schooling and such. That province needs to show a bit of class

  25. If anyone never read Paul Friesen’s Winnipeg Sun series on the Grey Cup run, his book “Against All Odds” on sale at the Bomber Store gives a really neat insider account of how it went down, and gives some great insight into just how tough it was for Streveler. And for those who aren’t fans of Friesen’s writing (it can be somewhat simplistic here too, remember that he has word counts with his articles, unlike my posts, lol!) I understand that some of the proceeds go to a good cause.

  26. The team got fat and sassy over the course of those 12 wins though. Charlie Roberts felt underused and disrespected and staged a distracting walkout. Ritchie did not know how to keep the team’s focus and rested starters down the stretch which led to complacency. They flat out disrespected Calgary by going with a scrub team in game 18 and Calgary needed that game just to get into the playoffs. And Calgary used that new life to carry a chip on their shoulders saying “you should have killed us when you had the chance, you thought we were no threat, now you are going to pay for your mistake”. Then a flat East Final performance that they did not react too seriously enough, and players measuring their ring sizes all week in Montreal in front of fans, media, and opposing players before the game. We all saw the outcome. In 1984 that team had serious challengers. BC were also a powerhouse. Edmonton was fading but still had leftover weapons from their 5 time Cup champions and Dunigan slinging it at QB. Toronto was the East favourite and also strong. This team would do well to treat the Riders, Lions, and Tiger Cats as threats who can up their game at any time. They know Toronto can beat them, and Montreal has given us fits at times. Be humble, be focussed, tune out all the noise, good and bad, and let the play on the field do the talking. O’Shea, Walters, and Miller have done a solid job of instilling that from the top down.

  31. I don’t think Adams will ever get the due he is owed for his downfield blocking skills. I can’t recall anyone better as a receiver, and it just does not get brought up enough. Just another sign of the team identity that we are lucky to see with this squad.

  36. Someone needs to sit down the CFL braintrust & tell them that TSN needs to modernize their broadcasts. It's just not good enough. How else can you sell your game to young kids if not by television?? More cameras. better angles. Younger broadcasters. Get rid of that godamned putrid, awful shitty Canadian country they keep pushing on us. The product on TSN at times is just awful. Yet, it's allowed to continue. Nothing ever changes. It's times for Rod Black & Glen Suitor to go. Suitor has been on TSN for nearly 30 years for crissakes. Dustin Neilson & the guy they had on last night can pick up the load of work Black does. Surely they can find an analyst better than Suitor. Status quo is not okay year after year. The perception is that a joke of a tv production makes it a joke of a league to a lot of non supporters. I have read thar TSN ratings for Argo games is actually pretty good. They just don't go to games.

  39. In previous game vs Esks... - Harris has 3yards short of 100yards. I expect him to have big yardage again. - Swiss-army knife Demski rumbled 21yards for a TD. Should be used in the running game again. - Bailey (72yards) and Adams (53yards 1TD have a big games. With Lawler off, expect those 2 to be relied on again in the passing game. - Collaros fumbled the ball near our end-zone and Elks scored. He should make it clean this game and protect the ball. - Mourtada missed 3 FGs. He made 3 FG last week (in a dome). Need to make his FGs tonite but hopefully all he need to make are PATs.

  40. Couldn't help but laugh at some of the prediction comments; HODGE: When do tickets for the West Final go on sale? BOMBERS ABBOTT: Winnipeg is the best team in the league and Edmonton is a flaming manure truck careening towards a canyon. BOMBERS BALLANTINE: You know it’s a bad week in Edmonton when getting blown out by Winnipeg is the third worst L of the week. BOMBERS GASSON: Edmonton is bad. Real bad. Winnipeg is the opposite. BOMBERS LUDWIG: I badly wanted to do it, but ultimately the only way you pick Edmonton is if you’re angling for a job with 630 CHED. BOMBER MCGUIRE: Losing Kenny Lawler hurts, but not enough to fall short at home to this dumpster fire. BOMBERS SMITH: It has been a bad week in Edmonton and it’s going to get worse when they get molly-whopped by Winnipeg. BOMBER

    Covid-19

I straight up refused to go to a CNRL camp when my company wanted me to go there for a few weeks during the 3rd wave. Ain't no way I was putting myself in that kind of situation before I was vaccinated. So yeah lots of oil and gas types are absolute morons (I spent 14 years working on rigs, trust me when I tell you this).

    Week 10 - Elks @ Champs

We have 3 rbs on the roster and one of the best offensive lines in the game. I have plenty of faith that if the Bombers need to ground and pound they can figure it out.

I dunno just seems like MLSE is going with the "we've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas man" excuse
