70%? It's not like Collaros is putting in 30% of the work; QB is a major part of a team's success. No doubt there are a number of pivots who'd thrive behind this O-line but he still needs the tools to be successful: a good arm, accurate passing, vision of the field, mobility, plus intangibles like leadership. Collaros possesses all of those even if the hogs up front are making his job easier to do. He still has to execute and he's been surgically efficient in 2021. It's an amalgam of equal parts, IMO. Which is to say nothing about the RBs, receivers, and coaches (OC in particular). This offense as a whole has more often than not been lights out this season and perhaps the most balanced, well-oiled offensive unit we've seen in these parts in years.5 points -
Castillo chose to opt back into his contract in order to make the trade to Winnipeg happen... not so sure he opts back in to join that mess.5 points

Some intetesting quotes from Tait's article here: https://www.bluebombers.com/2021/11/02/quick-hits-week-14-day-1/ For some reason I found this interesting: 4. ROSTER SHUFFLE: The Bombers made some roster moves on Monday, releasing LB Jontrell Rocquemore, DE Nick Dheilly, WR James Tyrell, K Gabriel Ferraro, DB David Rivers and OL Jalen Burks from the practice roster. Rocquemore, who dressed for seven games and started the season opener, became expendable with the return to health of Kevin Brown, who is a hellacious special-teams player. “It wasn’t just Jontrell, we unfortunately had to let go of six players because we added three (Rose, Castillo and Shaq Cooper),” said O’Shea. “There’s a there’s a limited number of spots you have on your rosters and we’re not the type of team that just is going to carry injured guys week to week that aren’t injured… We’ve got 18 guys that aren’t dressing for games that are practicing and 24 was just a number that was ballooning. Wonder who is he referring to with: "we’re not the type of team that just is going to carry injured guys week to week that aren’t injured"5 points

Two-way contracts have nothing to do with being waiver exempt. They only determine how much a player makes in the AHL vs. NHL. Waivers is a sliding scale that combines age, years from signing their firs NHL contract and NHL games played. https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-waiver-rules/ This table determines when a player is no longer waiver exempt:4 points -

For the sake of discussion here, if Zach can't play in the GC because he's unvaccinated (which I understand he is vaxxed) then I don't want him. Why would I want Collaros in the West Final & McGuire in the Grey Cup? We saw that Dog & Pony Show before in the Grey Cup with Ryan Dinwiddie after Kevin Glenn broke his arm in the East Final. No thanks.3 points -

Ha, ha. So true. I was driving home to Winnipeg from Lac Du Bonnet. I heard the news on the radio from Bob Irving doing the 5:25 pm sports. I was fist pumping & slapping my steering wheel, dashboard & yelling, "Yes, yes!!" & "Right on!!!" & "Wooooooo!!!!" I almost hit the ditch!!!! After I composed myself, what a happy drive home alone that was for me.3 points -

There's quite a bit I disagree with/am confused about in your narrative, but this......c'mon. This OL has been outstanding a lot longer than 2 years. We've had the best OL in the league by a mile for 2 years, but we've had a damn good OL much longer than that. I mean, going back to the Chungh/Goossen days, we've had an incredible OL. Virtually all of Matt Nichols/Andrew Harris's tenures, there was a phenomenal OL. What makes Collaros truly special is his ability to scramble and throw on the run. He does all the little things right, but the thing that makes him elite is his pocket presence and ability to move and find guys on the run. That's why he's the undisputed MOP this year... I think we could get a few good years out of Reilly yet, with an OL and some weapons, but I agree...he's not a long term solution. Also have no use for Masoli and would prefer Dane, tho I am not sold on him either...2 points

I'd like Dane Evans but not Masoli or Reilly. Reilly is getting old fast in front of our eyes. I haven't seen him engage with his offense once this season on the sidelines to fire them up. He just goes to the bench, sits down & stares at his device. Only seems to talk to Nathan Rourke. He looks pissed off all the time. With his OL I don't blame him but leadership isn't about pouting or pointing fingers. It's about inspiring others & making them believe they can win. I don't see any of that with Reilly.2 points -

Any country whose courts have decided that corporations are people is screwed. And those who openly participated in the planning or supporting the January 6th attempted coup are being elected. A prime example is Youngkin who was elected governor despite openly racist rhetoric that placed him to the right of Trump.2 points -

I'm not too worried about Zach being a free agent. He's a good qb. The team is benefitting from him and he is benefitting from the team. He's not going to go to some team where he won't be able to stay healthy. And if he does there will be plenty of qbs available who will find the job in Winnipeg appealing.2 points -
Watch us win the Cup over Hamilton and Hamilton goes way high in on Collaros, Collaros signs there, we sign Dane Evans or Masoli and then beat Hamilton again in 2022.2 points

These quarterbacks are set to become free agents in February 2022 McLeod Bethel-Thompson, Toronto Argonauts Zach Collaros, Winnipeg Blue Bombers The ten-year veteran has turned back the clock this season, playing like the Most Outstanding Player candidate we saw in Hamilton five years ago. Collaros leads the league in passing yards (2,832), touchdown passes (18) and quarterback efficiency rating (111.7) and is widely considered the front-runner to win M.O.P. this year. Dominique Davis, Ottawa Redblacks Dane Evans, Hamilton Tiger-Cats Isaac Harker, Saskatchewan Roughriders Jake Maier, Calgary Stampeders Jeremiah Masoli, Hamilton Tiger-Cats Sean McGuire, Winnipeg Blue Bombers The 25-year-old has been in The Peg since the start of the 2019 season and has played sparingly, completing four-of-nine pass attempts for 72 yards. With Winnipeg having already clinched first place in the West Division, it's possible we'll see a lot of McGuire over the next three weeks. David Watford, Hamilton Tiger-Cats Signed through 2022: Vernon Adams Jr., Montreal Alouettes; Nick Arbuckle, Edmonton Elks; Taylor Cornelius, Edmonton Elks; Caleb Evans, Ottawa Redblacks; Cody Fajardo, Saskatchewan Roughriders; Trevor Harris, Montreal Alouettes; Paxton Lynch, Saskatchewan Roughriders; Bo Levi Mitchell, Calgary Stampeders; Matt Nichols, Ottawa Redblacks; Dakota Prukop, Edmonton Elks; Michael Reilly, B.C. Honestly idk how you even keep guys like that. We will play now but we won't get the vaxx to play when it counts. Gtfoh idc who it is. They should just bring in the 5 fattest people they can find. Atleast they could take up room and force the pass rusher to go wider around the edge. Maybe they should call pop Warner teams and find some ol. Least then they'd get more disciplined players with some heart.2 points
