Eternal optimist and 3 others reacted to Zach Schnitzer for a topic
Hi All, This episode features an interview with Bombers DB and West Final hero Nick Taylor! So excited he agreed to be on the pod. You'll really enjoy him. Our first ever player guest talks about his journey from college basketball, to NFL, to becoming a key member of the Back2Back Champ's #Darkside Defence. Listen as he gets you inside the locker room to share FIFO really means and how the way of O'Shea completely changed how he prepared for games, and how the 2019 defence came together so quickly. Nick also shares his favourite 90's music, preferred travel destinations, and more! -Shoutout to #bombersuperfan Lefty Carol and CFL Cartoonist Gary McDaniel Google: http://bit.ly/3mOpMb3 Podbean: http://bit.ly/3oZiGTG Apple: http://apple.co/3ayNHW7 Spotify: http://spoti.fi/3BESm4V As always, I appreciate any feedback, positive or constructive! This one is pretty obvious to anyone who has watched his career. I remember when he was a ti-cat getting incredibly frustrated that they would have him dead to rights and he'd somehow manage to slip away and complete a pass. He's got a good ability to scramble while still keeping his eyes downfield. Lot of qbs just tuck and run when under pressure. He's got the combination of the athleticism to escape and the mental game to keep all his options open.4 points

This is exactly true. Shut the F up you absurd self important knuckle draggers, apologize profusely for your drivel that has cost our communities enormous amounts of wasted time, money, anxiety, preventable loss of lives and livelihoods. And while you’re at it, divert your money away from your grifter friends to directly donating it to help Ukraine people cope while being caught up in this mess. Charge: War crime. Press play to show video. Verdict: Guilty.3 points -

If you think that the West is already too soft on Russia, which they have been, they're going to stay far away from putting any meaningful sanctions on China. They didn't even flinch when China imposed it's will on Hong Kong.2 points -

None of it concerns me in the least. There's tons of football players out there looking for work. Are we going to see a diluting of the US talent? Maybe a little....enough to make people watch CFL less? Nah. As I've said a million times, it could be All Canadian teams, with Wpg/SK/Edm/Cgy playing each other all season, and I'd be more than happy. The CFL will be fine....2 points

In fairness to DT, when you are working the booth with neanderthals like Mullinder, it is probably a good idea to just keep talking stats instead of letting the baboon next to you have air time. He won't have that problem if Doug Brown is back, he is a great color guy.2 points

so, 2 things stand out to me here regarding foreign threats from unpopular countries that could threaten our sovereignty as a nation. 1. To not have a national strategic energy policy where Canada is totally oil independent in the event of a major international incident where the supply chain is cut off is absolutely insane. 2. Our military is like the Ukraine. It is underfunded, outmatched on land, sea & air. Totally incapable of even trying to defend our borders. We'd rely on others to help defend us but like the Ukraine, what if they don't come? It's time Canadians & our political leaders woke up & realized we need to take care of ourselves first. Our so called friends may not be our friends after allnin the future.2 points -

The LFL is the only other football league i'd be interested in developing1 point -
That is exactly what it is. The NFL will let them toss around their illusions of a relationship in exchange for them testing out some rules and giving more coaches a place to get better. No cash, no support otherwise. There is no player sharing, and no money changing hands. The only thing this deal benefits is the NFL and that is why they are allowing it. If the XFL comes hat in hand to the NFL they will have the door slammed in their face. Wrong time of year, and too bad of a history for failure for US sports fans to even give these leagues a fighting chance.1 point
-
NFL officials are not NFL owners and partnering on developing officials and testing rules is a FAR cry from a player development league. Not even in the same stratosphere. They don't have a developmental partnership with the XFL as far as players go. You made the comparison to NFL Europe which was an NFL funded player development league that was actually even profitable, and the NFL still shut it down because they felt it was a waste of time. The XFL is NOT a developmental league for the NFL no matter how much they claim to be. They have an agreement in place for the XFL to be a testing ground for them and a breeding ground for coaches. Nothing more. That isn't worth a wooden nickel to the NFL.1 point

That's great, but that is a far cry from them being a player developmental league and providing financial support of any kind. I think you guys are confused at to what the conversation was about originally. I was responding to the idea that the NFL would float money to these leagues to keep them alive so that they have a player developmental type league. I have no doubt that the NFL would use any league willing to be their guinea pigs on stuff like rule changes, football leather types etc. but that is not even remotely the same thing as being a fully funded developmental league. The XFL gets some credibility by having the NFL endorse it's existance but that's as much as they will gain from this. The road to profitablity and sustainability is solely on XFL/USFL ownership to generate enough revenue to exist, and that is something that historically has never happened for a spring league. Through most of the US, fishing season, golfing, baseball, and other outdoor activities begin right at the time this league begins. It's a hurdle no spring league has ever come close to clearing and there is absolutely zero reason to believe The Rock or anyone else will make it happen now.1 point -

They knew what they were doing was against the law by interfering with collective bargaining but went ahead and did it anyway, knowing full well this would be the outcome. But Pallister got to kick that can down the road so it's not his problem although I'm sure he would have preferred the NDP be back in power when the bill came due so the PC's can hang the increased spending on them.1 point -

I am not sure how they can wear the badge of fiscally conservative. The pointless lawsuits and expenses to win political points and attempt to make Trudeau look bad keep piling up. The lawsuit against federal marijuana laws and the deal Pallister made with Providence Therapeutics in an attempt to make Trudeau's attempts to secure vaccine supply come to the top of my mind. I haven't heard any updates about the Providence deal since they made the threat to leave Canada, but apparently we gave them a non-refundable deposit when it was obvious to anyone that the feds had vaccine supply incoming. "A summary of the proposed terms of the agreement with Providence says Manitoba will make a 20 per cent ($7.2 million) non-refundable down payment."1 point -

'Convoy' protesting COVID mandates in Lansing MI leads to embarrassing outcome A convoy of right-wing protesters pushing back against COVID-19 mitigation mandates while supporting election fraud falsehoods recently suffered an embarrassing turnout, according to Detroit Metro Times. On Sunday, February 20, a group of protesters met up for an event dubbed the “Lansing Freedom Convoy.” They’d called for “‘all our good men’ to park their cars in downtown Lansing and demand ‘honest elections,’ ‘a voter-run audit and canvass’ and for police to ‘arrest and charge all criminals in government, media and medicine.’” While the event was expected to draw a substantial number of right-wing supporters, Detroit Metro Times reports that only 10 people showed up for the event. The latest disappointment follows the group's demonstration earlier this month at the Ambassador Bridge and other infrastructure crossings. The highly-publicized protest was also supported by dozens of Republican lawmakers and a number of Republican gubernatorial candidates, including former Detroit Police Chief James Craig. The demonstration threatened to impact Super Bowl weekend.1 point
