Was at a duck unlimited event that Walby and Mikawso were at. I was bidding on 66 oz flask all night and Walby eventually outbid me. I wanted it real bad so I spent a hour negotiating/chatting with Walby finally we agreed to a price. Probably paid him way to much for it but got him and Mikawos to sign it. The story is worth what I paid lol.8 points

scrolling down, I found this tidbit: "Some of the truckers interviewed, said they kind of liked it, and intended to continue the pant pissing after returning home, and possibly trying in other situations, such as grocery shopping, at the office, and going to the bar." "its a big time saver as well" added one of the truckers. Donald Trump, when asked about the practise, said he had had great success with it for many years, and recommended it highly. "Those are my people, great patriots" he said. Just another day in murica.7 points -

Trucker Convoy Leader Says Truckers Are Peeing Their Pants In D.C. Traffic (When they said they’d be livestreaming, this isn’t what they had in mind.) The remaining truckers in Washington, D.C., who gathered for a “convoy” earlier this month are apparently having trouble finding places to relieve themselves as they circle the D.C. Beltway. So much so that they’re peeing their pants with some regularity. “Truckers speaking with [People’s Convoy co-organizer Ron] Coleman say that other truckers haven’t been able to ‘go to the bathroom’ while circling the Beltway,” Daily Beast reporter Zachary Petrizzo relayed via Twitter, “which has left ‘people having actually pissed their pants!’” What’s more, Petrizzo says, the truckers believe the ultimate blame for their predicament lies with Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser and the D.C. Metropolitan Police — and so, they’ve mulled over making “citizen’s arrests” of Bowser and police officers in response. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/dc-trucker-convoy-peeing-pants_n_623ca0efe4b0c727d489760a3 points -
What we do know is that none of them owned a $700 million super yacht. Navalny group presents evidence Putin owns mysterious $700 million mega-yacht Scheherazade France, Italy, and Spain have seized at least eight yachts linked to Russian oligarchs hit with sanctions after Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24. Other sanctioned Russians have moved their mega-yachts to the Maldives, Seychelles, Dubai, Turkey, and other areas out of the reach of U.S., British, and European Union oligarch asset hunters. Graceful, a $140 million yacht believed to be owned by Russian President Vladimir Putin, got a head start, sailing from Germany to the coast of Kaliningrad, Russia, in mid-February, about two weeks before Russia's invasion. But the $700 million, 459-foot superyacht Scheherazade, rumored to be "Putin's yacht," has been docked in an Italian port, Marina di Carrara, since September. "In the rarefied world of the biggest superyachts," The New York Times reported earlier in March, "the Scheherazade is alone in that no likely owner has been publicly identified." Even in "the hyper-confidential world of superyachting," the Times adds, "there is an unusual degree of secrecy surrounding this vessel." The Scheherazade's British captain, Guy Bennett-Pearce, told the Times that while he is not allowed to disclose who owns the ship, it is not Putin. "I have never seen him," he said. "I have never met him." He also said Italian finance investigators had recently boarded the ship looking for certification documents. Jailed dissident Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation said Monday that aside from Bennett-Pearce, the rest of the Scheherazade's crew is not just Russian, but also work for the FSO, or Federal Protective Service, Russia's equivalent of the U.S. Secret Service. Navalny's team ran through how it linked the crew to the FSO in a Russian-language video and in English on Twitter. Putin officially earns a $136,000 salary and owns a modest apartment, three Soviet-era cars, and a small camping trailer, Radio Free Europe reports, but Navalny's group and other anti-corruption politicians — some subsequently killed or poisoned — have linked Putin to a vast spread of mansions, jets, yachts, and other luxury assets. "Putin never keeps assets under his own name," though, Navalny investigator Maria Pevchikh tweeted. "So you need to look not at the ownership structure but rather at who manages and pays for it." It's more accurate because the throwing motion is more natural. The back foot in the ground anchors the body & there's little lean which means there is no over the top motion. It's all about the speed of hip rotation now as that is what generates the power. Just watch how Aaron Rodgers & Joe Burrow throw. Nothing like Peyton Manning or John Elway did. The game has changed. So too, has quarterbacking. In the CFL we have defensive linemaen like Willie Jefferson & Jackson Jeffcoat. In the NFL there's Aaron Donald & Cameron Heyward. These guys are all athletic & fast. In order to be successful, qbs have to get rid of the ball faster & sometimes off balance which means they don't have time to "step into the throw" as they'll get crushed. They'll throw over as well as around charging linemen & linebackers to make their throws. https://www.instagram.com/p/CZMry66DNXS/ Dak Prescott was ridiculed on social media in 2021 for his pre game warm up routine. All by fans & media that don't understand the new mechanics of throwing the ball. This is what generates power in the throw, Strong hip rotation.2 points -

Knowing how some politicians are, ie slimy, greasy, slippery if Brian Jean is successful in ousting Jason Kenney watch Jean change his tone on certain things, pivot when he needs to pivot to appease to a larger base, never really feeling certain exactly where he stands on issues important to a diverse group of Albertans. It has nothing to do at this stage with what he actually will do if he is elected premier, more what he needs to say to get people supporting him. I know politics 101 but still slimy. Being genuine and authentic is not important here. What's important here is getting what I need.1 point -

It isn't all on the coaching staff. Roster changes have been made. And yet, this team continues to make the same mistakes consistently from the standpoint of being a complete 200 ft. team and playing better defensively. A coaching change during a season rarely helps but considering the continuity outside of Maurice resigning, we see the same struggles with whatever system remains in place. Lowry as a placeholder doesn't seem to be working, so it seems like a fair and reasonable assertion that new blood on the bench is the next step in righting the ship. He's also not a 5th year pro, BTW. Logan Stanley isn't even 24 years old and hasn't even played 100 NHL games yet. He's in his second season with the Jets, having spent two (2018-19, 2019-20) with the Moose. I understand it's frustrating as hell watching this team struggle and perform poorly against seemingly inferior opponents. Attacking one player for "not having brains" based on a single mistake in which the Jets made several last night, and then making **** up to somehow justify your ridiculous opinion isn't objective or rational, though.1 point -
So, in my little "Morden, Alberta" town that I currently live and work in, it's near 0 masks. I saw a couple staff in No Frills that still wore them when I popped in yesterday, but no customers and most of the staff didn't. Last weekend in Calgary, pretty much the same. I'd say about 10% masks right now. All this as the wastewater shows spiking Omi B.2 all across this redneck wasteland....1 point

I’ve heard the same shtick from you for forever now. It is laughable that you think dumping Maurice (and now Lowry), Scheifele and Wheeler and keeping everything else the same makes this team better, like they are the poison that is blocking the true path to the Stanley Cup. Heinola is not ready, Perfetti is not ready to be a first line NHLer, Samberg is not ready to be an elite #1 defence man. Why you think loading up on inexperience makes us a Stanley Cup contender instantly is baffling. Just because you don’t like Wheeler and Scheifele’s personalities doesn’t mean getting rid of them to satisfy your culture shift wet dream suddenly makes Heinola a Norris trophy winner. Scheifele is poor defensively based on the metrics used by the accountants writing for the Athletic, but he is paid to score first, and he has outperformed his contract every year here. I worry the suspension got in his head as it can with some players (the Todd Burtuzzi effect) so I am actually fine with trading him, but not just to be rid of him without fair value coming back. And Wheeler is going nowhere at 36 with an $8.5 million cap hit (which fortunately as still a point a game player he is still arguably earning and not a massive overpay). Like it, lump it, make your peace with it, because he is here until that contract expires. A buy out cripples this team for the next 3 seasons. And I could care less if he is snippy with the Jeff Hamilton’s of the media world who seem to have a pretty clear agenda to pick a fight with him at every turn and blame the leadership for a basic lack of equitable NHL talent in the bottom 6 and bottom 2-3 on defence. Honestly, none of this will change your mind, but it is getting exhausting hearing the same tired whine every game for the last 4 years now (and frankly before the 2017-18 year too. You’ve become the TBurg of the hockey forum, and when they win you clam up, waiting for the next loss so you can write the same 12 variations of “Wheeler is grumpy and needs to go, Scheifele is lazy and needs to go, Maurice is stupid and needs to go”. We all get your point by now, try some new material.1 point -

Does Minnesota? Or LA at the moment with Doughty hurt or Florida with Ekblad hurt? Coaching does play a role... but its not the coaches who refuse to play D most nights. Jets need a culture change tho. Lowry is running maurices systems, huddy and wade have been here since day 1 ish. Lowry? Prob a fine asst but the leaders don't seem to listen so they need to likely go also. Scheifele looks like he doesn't care, gradually since the loss to st Louis in the playoffs, Wheeler tries but is older now and also likely rubs teammates the wrong way always blaming some youth in his press conferences Fix those 3 things plus move out Schmidt cuz 6 million reasons... and see what u get... picks nhl ready prospects etc and u build around the Dubois perfetti Connor ehlers forward group. Apples. Lowry. Svech (in the bottom 6) prob should have moved Stastny at the deadline1 point -

One of the biigest problems the CFL has is using the OL for the ratio. It's killing offenses as Canadians just can't play up to the level needed to be successful. Now the Bombers are the exception to the norm as our guys do play & play well. But we've also seen teams struggle like the Riders & the Lions. Bad OL play is one of the main reasons that scoring is down. Blocking on the line is at times atrocious & qbs are getting injured. The 7 starters need to be spread out all over the roster not just on the line. This all started with Edmonton in the 1980's being able to field an All Canadian OL & winning a Grey Cup. Every team tried to emulate them. It's continued until today. The game is changing. American players coming up here are bigger & faster. Canadian OL struggle. We all see it. Some of these players shouldn't be on a CFL roster. Yet, because of their birth certificate they are & spend years playing lousy football for whatever team they're on. Canadian OL shouldn't be paid more than Americans at the same positions nor should they be starting if they aren't good enough to do so.1 point -

To put a slightly different slant on this debate about the costs of a dental and pharmacare program, a couple-three decades ago, when the idea was first broached, I saw a pretty credible report that examined the pluses and minuses of these. It was proposed that these were actually "upstream" programs with the likelihood of actually saving money in healthcare costs when fully implemented. Untreated dental carries can affect or create a lot of health problems, like heart disease and GI concerns. Moreover, some HMOs in the US actually provide prescription drugs to their subscribers for free as their own studies showed that early dispensing of these prevented more severe and therefore more costly medical interventions later.1 point
