  2. Nobody's saying at this point, and CoD really doesn't matter. We've lost one of the all time greats. Imagine the confidence it takes to be a drummer in Dave Grohl's band....??? The balls on that guy. And he was incredible. If you needed it soft and finesse-y, or full on' wailin', he could give you everything. Fell down a YouTube rabbit hole last night and ended up watching their show from Wembley that they've got posted online. God, I love the Foo....and Hawkins was such a key cog.

  5. What would be the 5 most unbreakable records in hockey? Or in sports overall? (BTW Beamon’s record was broken, but it was astonishing how long it lasted and how much it went beyond the previous record at the time) Off the top of my head:: 1. Gretzky’s 163 assists in 1985-86 (only Lemieux has had more points in a season 2. Glenn Hall’s 502 consecutive games as a goalie (double the next highest streak, with today’s load management no goalie will ever touch this one 3. Selanne’s 76 goals as a rookie (tough because you only get one shot at it and only 3 players have ever scored more goals than that in any one season) 4. Joe Malone’s 2.2 goals per game average (44 in 20 games, obviously a completely different game then) 5. Gretzky’s 3 consecutive 200 point seasons (you could probably pick any number of his records, no one else has ever cracked it once, good luck doing it 4 times in a row) Any other obvious ones I missed?

Brezhnev, Khruschev and Stalin were all communists, they basically owned nothing as everything belonged to the state. Here is a link to a great documentary on Kruschev, if you jump to the end it shows him planting potatoes in his garden beside his ramshackle dacha, not exactly leading the life of a Tsar. Here is what Russia is supposed to be today "The 1993 constitution declares Russia a democratic, federative, law-based state with a republican form of government. State power is divided among the legislative, executive, and judicial branches. Diversity of ideologies and religions is sanctioned, and a state or compulsory ideology may not be adopted." Putin skipped some steps by jumping directly to the "gilded age" and anointed a small network of robber barons to run the Russian economy.

  8. So I originally got into Taylor Hawkins back in the Alanis/Jagged Little Pill days. Infectious personality. Never not smiling. This one gets me worse than Tyree. One of those guys from your teens that wasn't all that much older than you and then SPLAT WTAF

  10. Population mainly. The talent pool down there is larger. For every one good OL we produce, there are 30 that are as good or better in the US. We do have talented linemen yes but they want to play in the NFL. Some make their way back here but it takes years. Others play their entire career in the NFL & we never see them. The ones that stay here take a long time to develop as they can't block guys like Jefferson. Yet teams keep stubbornly trying to slot them in like a round peg in a square hole because of that damned ratio. The CFL would be much better served if they developed more Canadians to be starting linebackers, receivers & backs. Amazing how we could have stars back in the 60's. 70's & 80's like Gerry James, Joe Pop, Ken Nielsen, Jerry Campbell. Tom Forzani, Bob LaRose, Pete Ribbins, Steve Molnar, Rob McLaren, Joe Forzani, Bob Toogood, Larry Wruck, Doug Strong, Neal Beaumont, Gordie Rowland, Ed Learn, Larry Robinson & others but now Canadians don't play certain positions anymore because coaches want to slot in inferior Canadians on the OL so they don't have to play them anywhere else & Americans have taken over. Fans & media are wondering what's happened to the offense?? C'mon. Sorry if I'm preaching but it's frustrating that the CFL play guys they shouldn't play as starters & overpays a lot of them. Some Canadians do a great job blocking & deserve to be paid but the number of real quality linemen isn't much. Luckily, we have a few on our OL now. But just remember what we went through from 2012 to 2016.

Putin or his advisers have seemingly conceded that they cannot roll right over Ukraine and have retreated tot he relative safety of the Donbas region. Their strategy now is to kill as many people and destroy as much of Ukraine as possible with missiles and artillery. This is punishment for not acquiescing to Putin, and can be done from distances where their casualties will be minimized.

Yup this is exactly what the knuckle draggers are trying to do. Rewrite history, look away it never happened unless of course there’s any part of it I’m okay with.

I don't believe any adult should be exempt from viewing images of events occurring today or from the past. In fact witnessing and acknowledging such events should be mandatory public education, adverting of eyes from reality should be met with a jackboot to the ass.

  18. Gretzky's 92 goals in a season. Ovechkin had 65, Stamkos 60, only guys to crack 60 in the last 29 years.

Thanks, agree, very interesting. Certainly appears to answer my question, at least in one case. "up to his elbows in blood." Stalin was pure evil. No better example of the perils of cult of personality/unlimited power/ rule by fear. I have no problem imagining trump or some other right wing american dictator ordering mass executions. warning... if anyone else watches it, there is footage of executions. Disturbing.

  28. Was at a duck unlimited event that Walby and Mikawso were at. I was bidding on 66 oz flask all night and Walby eventually outbid me. I wanted it real bad so I spent a hour negotiating/chatting with Walby finally we agreed to a price. Probably paid him way to much for it but got him and Mikawos to sign it. The story is worth what I paid lol.

  31. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/foo-fighters-drummer-taylor-hawkins-obituary-1327112/ “The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,” the band wrote on Facebook. “His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. “Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.”
