It is going to be an incredible TC battle at WR. I could see a good 3 guys sticking on the PR. The widening of the hashmarks is going to be extremely interesting if it does indeed go through. I believe it will affect us more than any other team. Teams are all running variants of Halls cover principles these days. But they aren't entrenched in it for the most part. Hall is great at adapting, but man it will be hard to cover in the CFL. Our defense works on pressure from 4-5 guys and keeping guys in front of you. Which is a whole lot easier to do when you play half the field. We had lots of times where our cover bought our DL enough time to get to the QB as well. On offense we've long seen woli be under used, settling for a role far below his skill and athleticism. If suddenly his spot is as viable to throw to as any on the field watch out, he could easily be the top NI pass catcher in the league next year. Could see a Cooper kupp type of resurgence. His break out 18 season had him scoring a td every 9 catches (elite territory), with 253 yac on 650 yards 5.66 yac per catch, 14.4 ypc, with a tremendous catch rate. For his career since then the only thing we've seen go down is his number of targets, and ypc. Also, if the field is spread and the defense has to play side line to side line in cover, the run game is going to open up in a big way in the cfl. And no team is better poised to take advantage of that then us.2 points

I am lucky. I don't look aboriginal so don't face it nearly as much, but my wife is aboriginal and the treatment she gets when we go out is deplorable. When I show my treaty card or declare my status for various reasons my treatment changes drastically as well. There is a massive undercurrent of racism that exists towards natives, particularly in the city of Winnipeg, and I see it most in what I would think are very key demographics for NDP success. The South of Winnipeg is a no fly zone for most native people as the racism we encounter there is staggering.1 point

Disagree on the dislike for Wab but sadly agree on the racism aspect. I have heard stories that make me sick, can't imagine dealing with that crap on a daily basis.1 point -

Wab is not well liked at all except by those who already vote NDP. Many swing voters will not support him and when the inevitable smear campaign that will come against him starts, many people will swing back to the PCs or place their vote elsewhere. I have no doubt that this is likely to be a majority NDP victory next election, my prediction is simply that Wab does not have the personal appeal to make it a huge majority. I, also, hate to say it but there will be a fair amount of racism against him due to his ethnicity. That saddens me as an indigenous person myself, but if you guys only knew what we hear and overhear on a daily basis from people who pretend not to be racist you would understand. I quite frankly think that there is a fair number of people who do not like this government but will not vote for an indigenous premier. When given the option there is certain amount of the NDP support that likely just doesn't show up to vote. Probably not enough to swing an election but surely enough to keep the NDP seat count down despite what the polls say. I hope that Manitoba is better than that, but based on my life experiences I am skeptical, and the very worst of it is in the CIty of Winnipeg.1 point -

If those polling numbers hold, you have an NDP majority with similar numbers to 2007 or 2011. Given the way they are polling, it seems likely that the PCs lose all those seats they hold in south Winnipeg and other than Southern Manitoba will be in a huge fight in the rest of the province. I'd love a more detailed explanation of why you think Wab will cause them to lose votes.1 point -
Looks like another good prospect for sure. I like the fact he is a cold weather receiver out of Buffalo as well so fall ball shouldn't bother him.1 point

Yup a whole lot of nothing. Finger wagging, twitter shaming that leads to many likes that leads to money to be made but no, no actual real impactful consequences for obvious bad and most times probably illegal behaviour.1 point -

that's what's happening now. Brian Jean, former leader of the WRP, just won back his seat in Fort Mac campaigning on a promise to oust Jason Kenney at the party's AGM in April. Kenney and his lackeys are trying to maintain power, while Jean rallies support for tossing him. It's a crazy amount of infighting right now. Every sane person is just hoping that it eventually leads to an NDP government elected before too long...1 point -

It's more accurate because the throwing motion is more natural. The back foot in the ground anchors the body & there's little lean which means there is no over the top motion. It's all about the speed of hip rotation now as that is what generates the power. Just watch how Aaron Rodgers & Joe Burrow throw. Nothing like Peyton Manning or John Elway did. The game has changed. So too, has quarterbacking. In the CFL we have defensive linemaen like Willie Jefferson & Jackson Jeffcoat. In the NFL there's Aaron Donald & Cameron Heyward. These guys are all athletic & fast. In order to be successful, qbs have to get rid of the ball faster & sometimes off balance which means they don't have time to "step into the throw" as they'll get crushed. They'll throw over as well as around charging linemen & linebackers to make their throws. https://www.instagram.com/p/CZMry66DNXS/ Dak Prescott was ridiculed on social media in 2021 for his pre game warm up routine. All by fans & media that don't understand the new mechanics of throwing the ball. This is what generates power in the throw, Strong hip rotation.1 point -

The young guys coming up are all throwing the ball the new way. No more stepping into the throw. This ain't the way your Daddy threw the ball. Dom has a brick between the ears for brains. He's been in the league for 7 years & he's just as dumb now as he was a rookie. Let's assume Prukop has a better grasp for reading defenses & making the right decisions.1 point -
