They are basically the same, one a little more public with her love of dictatorships, terrorism, and anti-semitism. Steve is too savvy to wear his heart on his sleeve because he had leadership aspirations.

So out of touch with the real world. So concerned with appealing to the base to try and avoid the inevitable boot they are preparing for his ass in a leadership review (his only hope is if he can cheat hard enough again) he doesn't understand that keeping his job as ucp leader will alienate the majority of the province and cost him the job as premier. Just no clue that pandering to the worst elements makes you unelectable to the majority.

Agreed. Although history has always been written by the victors the twisting of facts and events is epidemic now. Americans have always been the world champions at it. They seem to have exported it around the world now. No other country to my knowledge has ever taken other counties war stories and called them theirs. ( The Great escape and U571 ) I always thought the book " Bury my heart at wounded knee " should be required reading in US schools.( It wouldn't hurt Canadians either. ) It might change alot of minds about their romanticized wild west days.

    Covid-19

Again, it doesn't need to evolve all 3 (severity, transmissibility, vaccine resistance). Any one of the 3 could put us in a much worse place and hoping that it evolves less severity is not a great strategy according the the author. Again, if evolution would have stopped with Delta and we never would have got Omicron, we would be in a much better place. And that was from an evolution that was, thankfully, less severe. The article itself is from Nature which is highly respected and the author is a world leader on virus evolution. I think he's rightly concerned about how we are assuming endemic means Covid is petering out and coming to an end and is tempering that lazy optimism he sees. I think it is natural to really hope everything is good and will only get better. I had more or less that view when we were really rolling out vaccines and it seemed like everything would be normal again. Unfortunately the virus evolved (with less severity no less) and the situation changed for the worse.

    Covid-19

I think the lazy optimism part is about getting rid of all restrictions and assuming everything will be okay as well as assuming we will mutate our way out of Covid and be done with it. I've mostly had the assumption that every subsequent evolution will be less severe, which according to the author who is a professor of viral evolution and genomics at Oxford, is not the case. After reading the article, I'd say the next evolution of the virus is likely to be even more transmissible, more likely to evade vaccines and if this is combined with increased severity, we are in big trouble. There's a big difference between a more severe strain of the virus and wiping out all life on the planet. Any one of the 3 - increased transmission, increased vaccine evasion or increased severity is a bad outcome. Assuming each evolution of the virus will be better on all three fronts is lazy optimism. We'd be in a much different place if Omicron never evolved, despite the decrease in severity.

He's not entirely wrong. There is much debate about the effectiveness of carbon taxes and other green energy policies around the world. Not that green energy policies shouldn't exist but how they should be done and what should happen first. Reality is that the world as a whole is not ready to stop using fossil fuels in any meaningful way and little is being done to advance the infrastructures necessary to do so, and most green energy experts suggest that should be the first step of any green energy policy. The United Nations council for climate change, which is an international think tank of the world's most foremost green energy experts, has suggested that most of the industrialized world is going about it all wrong right now.

People’s Convoy Gives Up, Will Leave D.C. After 3 Weeks of Doing Absolutely Nothing -Getty Three weeks after the so-called “People’s Convoy” landed in Washington, D.C., the group is calling it quits after accomplishing nothing except injuring residents and circling the Beltway. Co-organizer Mike Landis announced Sunday night that the group would pack its things up in the coming days and drive back to California. “So what I want to know is, what do you think about heading to California?” Landis asked, to the crowd’s delight. “Sounds like a great plan,” one convoy-goer yelled back. Landis further said that convoy-goers who remain posted up in Hagerstown, Maryland—who have experienced many freezing nights while camped out in the small town an hour and a half north of D.C. proper—will enjoy a southerly route back to California. “We’re gonna take a little more southern route, so it’s a little warmer than this,” he said. He pledged to “come back to finish this job” in the metro area at some unspecified time, which seems highly unlikely as their crowd dwindles.

What we would all like to see Ukrainian and Russian troops join forces, go to Moscow, drag putin out of his hideout, and execute him ceausecu style. round up enablers like lavrov, and make them work for every meal. Putin last summer "Let's start with the fact that modern Ukraine was entirely created by Russia, more precisely, by the Bolshevik, communist Russia. This process began almost immediately after the 1917 revolution," Putin said on Monday. Putin added that Lenin, who rose to power after the downfall of the Romanov royal family, was the "author and creator" of Ukraine. " another Myth shattered....."Putin is very smart", along with soviet military might.

The thing is Wab hasn't owned it at all despite the fact the woman he abused has come forward and even has proof of the injuries she sustained. This is why he is not well liked in the native community. His ex is a pretty respected member of the native community and our people believe her. Just stupid. These people had the right to gather and protest. In fact, I am glad they did. They just did it very stupidly and selfishly and I am glad they will face the consequences of such moronic protest planning.

  30. I agree. You take a look at a team like the RIders who will be rolling out 4 pretty unremarkable NAT OLs and it is quite likely going to be a main reason they will lose in the first round of the playoffs AGAIN. They could easily have passed on the expensive but really quite average NAT OT but chose to take him anyway and kill any chance they have of improving a very poor OL. If they go with a good IMP OT instead they might be able to hide some of the deficiencies of their 3 NAT OL and allow their OTs to play on an island so that Clark can double team and help out hapless Ferland or Johnson who is vastly overmatched against guys like Richardson, or Micah. Instead they will ask Dan Clark to actually block one on one and have to get Johnson to help out his shiny new NAT OT if possible. All in the name of ratio. What really baffles me is that they have enough NAT talent in their roster that they could make ratio without going 4 NAT OL and choose to do so anyway. Weird.

  34. Specific story in the paper was that fans were drunk in the student section, one on particular was so drunk (52 year old) police went to escort them out. Second fan jumped in to intervene, more police arrive. Third fan (24 year old) then jumps in and starts punching police officer in the head repeatedly. Drunk 52 year old tries to break free and he and police officer roll down the stairs in the struggle. Many fans then throw beer at the police as they walk the inebriated folks out of the stadium. 24 year old charged with assault P.O., 52 year old to the drunk tank but later released. Picture in the paper:
