The Liberals occupy the middle. It's confusing for the right because they've swung so hard to the right, they think no one is in the middle. There was a time that the right believed in science. That stopped when the Reform took over the PCs.

Yeah, it's the part where it gains value "because someone wants that string of ones and zeros" that I struggle with because it's all a scam as far as I'm concerned. All it took was a small group of people to say "let's take this and pass it around, selling it for a profit to each other and eventually some sucker will see the 'value' going up and jump in and buy it from us, then we can do it again". Same issue with NFTs... there's no actual value there other than what's been artificially created by a bunch of con artists.

Their entire political system is a nonfunctional gong show.Its got nothing to do with trying to govern a country just self promotion, power, lining your pockets, and attacking the opposition ( who ever you see as opposition ) with what ever you can make up. It would be comical if it was a tiny unimportant country that had little real military or financial importance in the world.

Take a look at the last 32 years - they are a mixed bag: 1. Mulroney: removed old taxes (manufacturer's) introduced new taxes (GST), implemented NAFTA, no significant social changes that I can recall 2. Chretien / Martin: cut budgets, slashed transfer payments, finances were in the black, brought in some social change (same sex marriage), dealt with the Quebec referendum, paid lip service to climate change (Kyoto Accord) 3. Harper: trimmed budgets in many areas, implemented significant tax cuts, also reduced transfer payments, began dealing with key social issues (eg. residential schools agreement), did as little as possible to combat climate change 4. J. Trudeau: increased transfer payments, introduced actual climate change measures, major spending increases - mostly due to the pandemic, some tax cuts for the middle class, increased CPP contributions So, unless you're going to define the Trudeau regime as a major shift to the left, it really has not happened. Keep in mind, Trudeau has kept Harper's tax cuts mostly intact. It most certainly did not happen with any of the other regimes. In fact, it was the absolute opposite If you take the pandemic out of the equation to level the playing field, then I doubt Trudeau spent much more than any other government before him

What's worse is he's the front runner for leadership of a major party.

Burn. It The. F***. Down.” Guy is a loon. Oh and somebody needs to tell the dumbass that he's not running for Prime Minister, he's running for leadership of a political party.

Funny that the same Russian government whose military is looking quite inept in its Ukraine invasion is the same one that could coordinate a cyber-campaign to de-stabilize the US and influence its elections. Not sure if it says more about the strength of Ukraine or weakness of the US.

It's a pivotal moment for the Conservatives. Do you continue with the right of center party they have always been or do you leap feet 1st into the idiocy that plagues the US. I still have faith in Canadians. I believe if they go down the far right path they will be soundly rejected in the net General election. A strong, competent leader for the Liberals would ensure that.

She is great. Someone else posted something in here from her before, I think it was about the wackiness of the convoy. Unfortunately the ones that really need to come out with a speech like this, people like Bergen, Bernier, Pollievre, etc., will not do it. Hearing it from a senator nominated by Trudeau will just add to the paranoia.

This is the 2nd time that I've heard her speak (the first time was regarding the convoy protest or something else related to the pandemic, I can't remember at the moment exactly what it was). I have a lot of respect for her. This is the type of person who is good to have in a position of power within the goverment.

That's how it started but, like any fringe party, it attracts disaffected voters from the mainstream parties. Environment remains the key focus but they lack the complete platform, which is why they attract radicals. The Green Party itself is mess and the voters it attracts tend to hold extreme views. The 8% of disbelievers in the Green party is a surprise. Those of us in the 60+ age group are used to trusting research as opposed to opinion, but global warming is only part of the problem- the climate change model when it was created in the 80's also predicted more violent storms exaggerated droughts and cloudbursts, higher highs and lower lows and more unpredictability in weather forecasts. All this has come to pass and still the disbelievers cling to their beliefs like drowning people clinging to flotsam.

If you are looking for credibility, politics may not be the best place to start. Now, hypocrisy, whataboutism, gaslighting, self-interest, well…….

I’m a huuuge homer when it comes to the Jets but I can completely understand the frustration Anderson and fans showed after Wheelers ‘filthy’ winning shootout goal. Side note - Strong recommendation for 'Finding the Mother Tree' by Suzanne Simard for insight into how forests should be managed and some fascinating info on trees communicating with one another. Funny, I was going to say almost this exact same thing... except my one caveat would be that it only applies after the 3 min warning... so you can't win a game when you miss a FG (or punt) through the end zone in a tie game. I think you might have the first point backwards... we keep it at 110 (meters) and it would decrease the field size to approx. 100 yards... would also mean it only takes 9.144 yards (according to my google search) to get a first down, thus more offense. EDIT: Nevermind, brain not working properly on that math Both really good ideas though

The rules have been tweaked to not allow spinoramas, second shots, stopping, puck going backwards, etc. So the refs do watch to see if forward progress stops. Only other thing I could think would be to put a shot clock on, but as long as they feel he was moving forward, goal should be OK. I remember Danny Heatley trying that move against Steve Mason in a Jets year one game in Minnesota. Mason just stood there and Heatley ran out of space and shot it into his pads. Can look great a la Patrick Kane or can look really foolish.

I still think there's merit to the idea that the CFL (and TSN) don't want to compete with NHL playoffs in the spring/early summer, so they don't want to bump it up too far....

If we're going to change the field size it should be to 100 Meters. Uniquely Canadian. Still 110 yards. My personal rule change never gets brought up: Missed FG that goes through the endzone without being touched = zero points. Allows for missed FG's to be run back, but doesn't reward misses with a single point unless you can tackle the returner in the endzone. IMO the CFL is going about this all wrong. The rules are great as is. Changing rules won't get more fans in the stands or more fans watching on TV & that's what the CFL needs.
