Given what Montana and North Dakota got, not an overreaction there. Up to 4 feet of snow in some parts. Maybe the stalling of the system spared us the worst which would have hit us but stayed south instead. And we still have two more days of this system to come. I’ll relax when Saturday comes.

My suspicion is that there are a lot of people who haven't looked smart for most of their life clawing at every attempt to show they are smarter than others, when really they just don't understand the complexities of situations. "Vaccines don't work because vaccinated people can still be infected" "The government made the media hype the storm because they wanted people to buy stuff". As Bartley said, we are already within the predicted range (and not done yet) and we are likely within the predicted range of responses too. Some people didn't care, some people went overboard. This would also depend on some people's ability to handle risk. My grandmother has health concerns and limited mobility, this could make a potential storm, power outages, etc. much more dangerous than someone like me. She should appropriately be over-precautious. Nothing to see here other than some people trying to grasp at attempts to make themselves look smarter than everyone else because others prepared for a storm. Likely the same people that would be the first to demand help and blame the government/media/WEF if the storm was worse than expected.

Actually they were bang on. They called for 20 +cm for the city and Eastern Red river valley. They called for 40 to 80 for the western edge of the valley and Western MB. In my yard 80 miles sw of the city, I have bare spots and 4- 5foot drifts in other places. So its really hard to tell the actual amount. If I had to guess I'd say 20 in to 24 in. So 50 - 60 cm. And it's not over.

I like how he says at the end 'or in Hitler's case a very unproductive life' right after he just used Hitler as an example of how one can work themselves out of homelessness if they just apply themselves.

  10. The 'open' distinction matters because the gay men that played before felt they had to hide their identities as gay men or possibly face being ostracized or even reviled by players fans and coaches. Of course there were gay athletes, it's really unfortunate they had to live and love in secret. You are making my point about representation right here. One day (hopefully not taking 50-60 years to normalize...) being openly gay will not even be noteworthy and can be left entirely out of the story the same way being black or white is not worth reporting today. Sam is unique in that he is an openly gay professional football coach. Can you name any other openly gay professional football coaches? I don't think anyone can. (Don't say Sandusky) I'll reiterate nobody here thinks being gay has any bearing in his ability to do the job, any more than it did on his ability to play. In that sense (but maybe only that sense) youre 100% right that being gay doesn't matter. Going to add too that this is a totally healthy discussion to have, even on a football forum. How else is anyone going to learn or develop or form informed opinions if we can't talk about it or are afraid to say 'I don't get it' or 'I can't relate' as long as we can respect one another there is no taboo subject among friends and scholars right?

Just to flesh this out a bit..... Moskava is a Slava class Guided Missile Cruiser.......that earlier carried out the well-publicized attack on Snake Island It is currently the sole vessel in the Russian fleet equipped with wide-area air defences, providing cover to other vessels during their operations, which have included coastal bombardments and amphibious feints. In the absence of the Moskva, Russia will find it more risky to conduct similar operations. After the Russian takeover of Crimea, the Ukrainians invested in a number of Neptune anti-ship systems, which has the R-360 anti-ship cruise missile, capable of striking targets at reported ranges of up to 180 miles and has the capacity to fly at sea-skimming altitudes to evade radar detection. It also uses GPS guidance in tandem with inertial guidance to improve its accuracy and uses an onboard active radar seeker to detect its target in its final stages before impact. The Ukrainians claim 2 hits on Moskava with this weapon. If true, this is a crippling blow to operations in the Black Sea. Or Shoigu fell out of a open window.......

  21. Not claiming to have the answer to Twitter, not even saying Musk should buy it, or would do a better job at it. I don't think anyone can (including the state). Moderating a board like this, which is really a relatively low effort most of the time, is still a huge pain in the ass, and for the most part thankless. No matter what you do or don't do, there are people who aren't happy and complain, and think you are wrong. I couldn't imagine trying to come up with the rules and algorithms to try and moderate something like Twitter. Humans aren't evolved to have the ability to have faceless, anonymous communication with so many people that Twitter brings.

  23. It is an interesting article, but also brings out the larger question of who should actually make the decisions on what is allowed and what is not on these platforms. There is no precedent for the reach and impact that social media has and I don't think we have at all figured out as a society how to deal with its impact.

  24. Yes, Sam was but he was still good enough to be drafted by an NFL team. My point is about Sam being gay. Who cares? Fans would have to be pretty naive to think gay players haven't been playing professionally for as long as these sports have been around. So the "Openly Gay" designation shouldn't even be mentioned but hey, it's 3DN always looking for click bait.. We no longer call Vernon Adams a black qb. Rasheed Bailey a black wide receiver. Brandon Alexander a black safety. Willie Jefferson a black defensive end. Even half a century ago, Adam Bighill would never have been called a white linebacker. I know tht **** Butkus & Ray Nitscke were never referred to that way. Brady Oliviera is no longer called a brown running back. Sure, 50-60 years ago when players of colour were starting to play certain high profile positions that used to be reserved strictly for white players like QB, Running Back, Cornerback, MLB & Receiver the race card was prevalent, But not today. We still do say players are Americans, Canadians or Internationals in the CFL but that's because of the ratio rules only. It has nothing to do with being gay or race.

    Top 5 Bomber QBs

According to 17to85, there's a discussion on CFL Reddit about top 5 QBs for each franchise, and this has led to discussion in our group chat about the Bombers Top 5 QBs all time.... And it's a tougher decision than you realize. How do you rank sustained success vs short term? A guy like Collaros hasn't been here long but has had a lot of success. Khari and Dunigan had a ton of success but no cups. Glenn was a MOP until Eiben. Etc etc etc. I think, for us, its: Ploen Jacobs Brock Khari Collaros (Clements, Burgess, Dunigan, Glenn all right there, too....)

  36. I don't think it is insider trading because he is doing it all very publicly. So there is no inside information he is using to buy / sell. If he is doing this just to sell after the stock increases, it could be market manipulation, for which the SEC could still fine him if they can prove it.

  44. Agreed. Theres a reason why Winnipeg Stadium is referred to as the house that Jack built. These are his passing stats from 1951! GP Att Com % Yds TD Int 14 355 204 57.5 3248 33 10 Insane. That would be a pretty great season in todays game! First professional QB to throw for over 3000 yards and 30 TD's. Oh and he was also the teams punter and had a 41.1 yard average over 95 punts.

  47. Clements is in the top 5 for me. Collaros is tricky without the longevity but just winning. Similar to Clements in putting a very good team over the top to great. Jones took a team that had no hope and made it a contender, arguably saved the franchise, ridiculous numbers for a 3 year period where he just got demolished behind a patchwork OL. Jacobs and Ploen are a given. Dunigan a little too mercurial, belongs to the league or maybe Edmonton more than anyone. Glenn doesn't rate on the great scale for me aside from longevity, one borderline great season here but nothing spectacular in terms of his own performance or winning. If I boiled it down to the best season of each player as a Bomber and had to rank them in order of who I'd pick in a draft: Jacobs (insane passing stats for his era, like Flutie-esque) Ploen Collaros Clements Jones Brock would be 6th, just a little less efficient than Khari. Dunigan would be 7th but never played a full season for us without significant injury (the one he played most he tore his achilles in the second last game).
