  1. Regardless of origin, Hansen is a big time component of the last 2 championship seasons. As a valued teammate/team member, there is no way the league should be dictating his wage. It’s OK to throw a gazillion dollars at the Lawlers and Dukes of the league but Thiadric can’t get a bump? Bullshit!

So just a bit if background. I was a big time gun guy for decades. I owned my own 22 at age 12. I was on a championship Jr. Rifle club team. Our meat diet was 99% wild game for decades. I use to work crazy hours spring to fall then hunt non stop everyday for 3 or 4 months before heading west for work. I've owned 100s of guns over the years including hand guns at times. I lived to hunt and shoot back in the day. I still have guns but I'm just not into it like I was anymore. Yes , almost any gun can be turned into a concealed weapon with a bit of work. As far as turning a semi into full auto it was easy with particular gun makes and models but not most. Its tough and makes them pretty much useless. The majority of centerfire hunting rifles are bolt actions. Not to be insulting but most really serious hunters and shooters won't bother with semi auto center fire rifles. We mostly saw them used by casual hunters. .22s are a different story. Tons of .22 semis are used are used for plinking, gophers ..... As far as shotguns it would be pumps, double barrel, semi, single break then the rarely seen bolt action. I am in favour of gun laws that make a REAL difference. Laws that actually do something not just make uninformed non gun owners happy. I'm a big fan of the PAL licence. Having your background checked by the RCMP before you can own, posses , borrow, use a gun makes a whole lot of sense. As far as hand guns. My understanding is about %80 - %90 of handguns that are confiscated have come across the border. So an outright ban isn't going to do alot. I'm not sure what has changed I the last 20 years but when I owned them I could only leave my property with a handgun to go to a sanctioned gun range at a particular time. I was required to drive directly there and back with no stops in between. I can't remember the last time I heard of a legal handgun owner shooting someone. I'm sure it must happen but not very often in Canada. I really doubt an outright ban would have any real effect. I suppose it would effect the %10 to %20 of gun crimes that are committed with stolen handguns .I really don't have a dog in that race so it's not all that big of a deal for me. I see no reason for any Canadian to own military style weapons. Guns designed and made to kill only people belong in the hands of the military only. I think alot of the American gun idiocy makes non gun owners in this country assume it's the same here. It jades their opinion.

  13. Anecdotally I can tell you my in-laws from Germany visited in the summer of 2019 and they were surprised and intrigued to find out a German was playing for the local 'American Football' team that I seemed to be so obsessed with. I took them to a game and pointed him out every time he was on the field. They didn't really follow the game but they still had a lot of fun (we won 31-1, it was wild). Fast forward a few months when we win the cup and I get texts from Germany saying they had tuned in to watch the Grey Cup and were happy for our city. It all started with mentioning Hansen played for us. So at least on the smallest scale I've seen CFL 2.0 generate interest outside our borders. How it translates to money is still in question

Her lawyer objects. Lol. Your honor I object because I really need her to stop talking. Perfect example, with video evidence, that this isn’t a both sides he said she said argument. This isn’t a one man’s liar is another man’s freedom fighter. This is sanity versus do and say whatever you want. For this specific issue these are the options to support.

Day after the season is over Chipman needs to have a presser and say that he has ley go the GM and the coaching staff and he will immediately start a search for the new GM who will find the new HC who will intern hire his own assistants. Its the only way this team will be able to start the long way back to being a competitive team.

I recall Michael ball wishing on air that someone would take a cheap, career ending hit on Collaros and Harris. Stay classy Rudders

Skip a few steps go right to the DOJ and start charging people at the top political or otherwise and move swiftly. Enough talk. Seriously.

The cycle is they just spew lies everywhere they go, they know it will be fact checked but it don't matter damage done, ie knuckle draggers lapping it up right behind them like thirsty rabid dogs parting with the few bucks they have to donate to these liars then providing links to these lies on their social media accounts writing their prose on how stupid WOKE people are and how good and moral they are. 35. They should be able to do both, it's a shame the CFL or the Stamps couldn't or wouldn't step up. The Bombers just announced a $100k donation to local football AND are trying to make Hansen the highest paid global in the league but the league is so eager to shoot itself in the foot when it comes to mandatory minimal salaries for globals. I don't understand their position on this salary thing.

  37. Honestly not gonna bother derailing this thread anymore than it needs to be. You originally claimed you could turn any hunting rifle into a fully automatic and concealed weapon. That is massively false, which you basically admitted by modifying your claim to any semi-automatic made before 1985. I'm fully aware some semi-auto's can be converted and I've even read the SKS can accidentally slip into full auto mode. To say you can make any hunting rifle into a fully automatic weapon is a joke and I'd love to see the stats that the overwhelming majority of hunting rifles used are semi-automatic made before 1985 🤣 Anyway, done with derailing on useless minutia when its obvious your original claim was either incredibly ignorant or intentionally misleading.

  39. Another thing to consider is what these players bring back to their country. Hansen went back home and won a Championship for his home league. If he never comes back, but takes his experience from here and uses it to help grow the programs back home, is that also considered a win?

  43. https://3downnation.com/2022/04/22/despite-recent-success-zach-collaros-believes-bombers-wont-have-difficulty-finding-motivation/ Beautiful family, back-to-back Grey Cup rings, a shiny Most Outstanding Player trophy on his shelf, and the highest paid contract in the CFL, you might say that Zach Collaros has it all. In a sport where you need to stay hungry, it is only natural to question how the Blue Bombers’ starting quarterback is staying motivated after gorging himself on success. But as Collaros and his Winnipeg teammates gear up for a run at a rare Grey Cup three-peat, finding fuel for their competitive fire has never been an issue. “For me personally, I’ve always kind of embraced the role of the underdog. I wasn’t really highly recruited and all those things, so I’ve always had a chip on my shoulder and I think a lot of the guys on our team are built the same way,” Collaros explained in an appearance on 980 CJME’s The Green Zone. “Talk to Adam Bighill or Willie Jefferson, you can go on down the line. Even Stanley Bryant, who is maybe going to go down as one of the greatest offensive linemen to ever play our game, but he comes from humble beginnings as well. I think we’re a group of people that are built that way, with the chip on their shoulder, so I don’t think it’s going to be hard for us to find motivation.” Nonetheless, it has been a topic of conversation among members of the Bombers’ veteran core. As many negotiated returns to Winnipeg this off-season in order to chase a chance to become the first team to win three straight CFL titles since the Edmonton dynasty of the late 70’s and early 80’s, the internal chatter on the topic was already helping to set the tone. “During the entire free agency period, the group of guys that were signing back were all in a group chat saying we’ve got to continue to find an edge. It’s been in the back of our heads really since the week after the Grey Cup celebrations,” Collaros acknowledged. “I think a lot of us knew we wanted to be back here. It’s hard in our profession to not think into the future and get excited about the next season, so we’ve been talking about it.” The Bombers can no longer claim to be slept on by fans or the media, they have rightfully claimed the status as the league’s flagship franchise and enter the season as the unanimous Grey Cup favourite according to Ontario sports books. However, the roster has undergone serious changes this offseason, with workhorse Canadian running back Andrew Harris and league-leading receiver Kenny Lawler highlighting a long list of departures that also includes Darvin Adams, Steven Richardson, Alden Darby, Drew Desjarlais, DeAundre Alford, and Jonathan Kongbo. Those who remain will have to pick up the slack while drawing their edge from chips on the shoulder established long before they were champions. “Again, it really comes down to just doing our jobs and trying to do them at as high a level as possible,” Collaros added. “I think we have the right group of people to do that, but it’s the CFL, it’s football, the game changes every week and year to year, especially with the one-year contracts. It makes it that much more difficult, but we’re really excited for the season.”
