  1. Nice to read tho that this year they want to get Grant more involved in the offence...couid be a dangerous guy getting the ball in his hands in the open field

  2. Hansen was a very effective special teamer as well as rotational piece on the defense...if there was an injury issue in game he'd be more than adequate replacement seeing more reps. He also had more value than some first and second year Canadians and should be making more ..and I would go even as far as saying he prob has better contribution as a whole than guys like Gauthier and Briggs too...don't get me wrong both are great players for their role and can start in a pinch and take rotation snaps...but Hansen does exactly what they do ..plus has more impact when on defense. Too bad he is stuck in that salary pergatory and really should be rewarded as a Global if he can make more...and teams he groom and develop a guy to that point should be as well

  3. https://3downnation.com/2022/04/22/despite-recent-success-zach-collaros-believes-bombers-wont-have-difficulty-finding-motivation/ Beautiful family, back-to-back Grey Cup rings, a shiny Most Outstanding Player trophy on his shelf, and the highest paid contract in the CFL, you might say that Zach Collaros has it all. In a sport where you need to stay hungry, it is only natural to question how the Blue Bombers’ starting quarterback is staying motivated after gorging himself on success. But as Collaros and his Winnipeg teammates gear up for a run at a rare Grey Cup three-peat, finding fuel for their competitive fire has never been an issue. “For me personally, I’ve always kind of embraced the role of the underdog. I wasn’t really highly recruited and all those things, so I’ve always had a chip on my shoulder and I think a lot of the guys on our team are built the same way,” Collaros explained in an appearance on 980 CJME’s The Green Zone. “Talk to Adam Bighill or Willie Jefferson, you can go on down the line. Even Stanley Bryant, who is maybe going to go down as one of the greatest offensive linemen to ever play our game, but he comes from humble beginnings as well. I think we’re a group of people that are built that way, with the chip on their shoulder, so I don’t think it’s going to be hard for us to find motivation.” Nonetheless, it has been a topic of conversation among members of the Bombers’ veteran core. As many negotiated returns to Winnipeg this off-season in order to chase a chance to become the first team to win three straight CFL titles since the Edmonton dynasty of the late 70’s and early 80’s, the internal chatter on the topic was already helping to set the tone. “During the entire free agency period, the group of guys that were signing back were all in a group chat saying we’ve got to continue to find an edge. It’s been in the back of our heads really since the week after the Grey Cup celebrations,” Collaros acknowledged. “I think a lot of us knew we wanted to be back here. It’s hard in our profession to not think into the future and get excited about the next season, so we’ve been talking about it.” The Bombers can no longer claim to be slept on by fans or the media, they have rightfully claimed the status as the league’s flagship franchise and enter the season as the unanimous Grey Cup favourite according to Ontario sports books. However, the roster has undergone serious changes this offseason, with workhorse Canadian running back Andrew Harris and league-leading receiver Kenny Lawler highlighting a long list of departures that also includes Darvin Adams, Steven Richardson, Alden Darby, Drew Desjarlais, DeAundre Alford, and Jonathan Kongbo. Those who remain will have to pick up the slack while drawing their edge from chips on the shoulder established long before they were champions. “Again, it really comes down to just doing our jobs and trying to do them at as high a level as possible,” Collaros added. “I think we have the right group of people to do that, but it’s the CFL, it’s football, the game changes every week and year to year, especially with the one-year contracts. It makes it that much more difficult, but we’re really excited for the season.”

  4. Regardless of origin, Hansen is a big time component of the last 2 championship seasons. As a valued teammate/team member, there is no way the league should be dictating his wage. It’s OK to throw a gazillion dollars at the Lawlers and Dukes of the league but Thiadric can’t get a bump? Bullshit!

Difficult to tell who is behind these killings and sabotage, but the probability is that Ukrainian forces are involved as the dead oligarchs were strongly allied with Putin and the disasters were all "soft targets"- that is unguarded, but still important to Russian military and citizens. It seems to be a war of attrition. As an addendum, the massive Russian offensive in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine has rapidly stalled, putting Russian plans to create an all-weather access to a port by capturing a corridor and taking Mariupol and Odessa in danger of being yet another failure. In the meantime, weapons and supplies from many countries continue to flow into Ukraine. Putin's generals (those that are still alive) gambled on subduing Ukraine before this happened, and have lost.

When they switched to the Arabica beans back around 2004, everything changed. They immediately outpaced Tim's and not much had changed since. I don't mind Tim's but McDs is really good coffee.

Besides the territorial gains, there are a couple of other reasons behind the Russian invasion: the eastern part of Ukraine has lithium deposits and there are natural gas fields of considerable size off the shore of Mariupol, which would threaten Russia's near-hegemony in gas sales to Europe.

    Game 78 : @ Carolina

The difference between the Jets and Moose and I've been to games this year involving both. Took my daughter to see the Moose for her first hockey game, wasn't sure if she'd like so went with the cheaper option and she loved it so got free tix to the Jets from work and took her again and she loved both (we going again tomorrow cuz no school monday, teachers day) But the biggest difference is the Moose players give a **** defensively and the Jets players look like they don't or don't got a clue. The difference to me is 1. Nhl guys get Paid millions and the ahl guys don't and 2. It has to be defensive coaching, it just has to be.

Why would a lawyer keep asking MGT if she remembers saying and tweeting things when you have video and documented evidence? Who cares what she recalls or not. Remind everyone what she said and move into the real meat. What a lame judicial system. Sorry don't remember, sorry don't recall, can I go now?

You don't understand the complaints of having prices that have skyrocketed all while the food quality is barely passable? McDonalds used to be good for garbage food at a super low price... nowdays it's cheaper for us as a family to go to Wendy and it tastes way better because they use a much higher quality of ingredients. McDonalds is so bad that even 7-11 has surpassed it in quality for chicken/fries and price. I also can't think of any time in the last 20 years where someone has said "Mmmm McDonalds has the best burgers in town". It's usually people saying "Why did I get McDonalds I feel sick, uggggggh".

China suddenly cut contact with sanctioned Russian firms and said the big deal meant to help Russia go around sanctions is on hold. This is because China fears being sanctioned itself. Seems their friendship only lasted until it might cost China money.

  28. You cared enough to reply. The kneejerk bullshit from fans and media here recently is embarrassing to see. I've come across some absolute gems of stupidity. Yeah, this season was a failure and there are a number of factors that played into that. But moving top players and retaining salary to do so just smacks of emotionally-charged ignorance. A new coaching staff is what's needed. That has to be the organization's top priority.

  29. Cuz back then.... there were no snowflakes or woke culture to tell ppl what is good and isn't good for them . Concussions were just headaches. There were no Facebook or Twitter or tik tok or morningbigblue.com to post on. People were actually allowed to do what they wanted and nobody would Care because it didn't effect them directly Karen's didn't exist. Ya disagree all you want. It's all facts. Facts don't give a **** about people's feelings.

Yea but hey just give in to Putin so no one else gets hurt or killed. Then I'm sure stability will return, Putin will just get back to leading his country with no further demands and wants and we can get back to normal world business.

  31. They should be able to do both, it's a shame the CFL or the Stamps couldn't or wouldn't step up. The Bombers just announced a $100k donation to local football AND are trying to make Hansen the highest paid global in the league but the league is so eager to shoot itself in the foot when it comes to mandatory minimal salaries for globals. I don't understand their position on this salary thing.

  32. Anecdotally I can tell you my in-laws from Germany visited in the summer of 2019 and they were surprised and intrigued to find out a German was playing for the local 'American Football' team that I seemed to be so obsessed with. I took them to a game and pointed him out every time he was on the field. They didn't really follow the game but they still had a lot of fun (we won 31-1, it was wild). Fast forward a few months when we win the cup and I get texts from Germany saying they had tuned in to watch the Grey Cup and were happy for our city. It all started with mentioning Hansen played for us. So at least on the smallest scale I've seen CFL 2.0 generate interest outside our borders. How it translates to money is still in question

  33. None of us know what happened behind the scenes though. You're assuming he didn't already try to handle it more discreetly. Let's assume that he did try to address the issues through the proper channels like going to management and they did nothing except give the guy a promotion. Should he stay silent or go public?

  36. Who was a better receiver, Joe Popawski, Jeff Boyd, Perry Tuttle or James Murphy? I'd say that Joe Pop was probably the #4 receiver in that group. Probably the slowest & maybe even had the worst hands although that could be argued as he made many, many incredible clutch & sure handed grabs as did the others. And yet, Joe Pop reached a thousand yards receiving or was pretty damned close every year he played. It didn't matter if he was #1 or #4. he produced because he was given the chance, something Wolitarsky has not been allowed to do.

  43. Unpopular, sure. But is it inaccurate? How many people would really quit watching football in Winnipeg if we switched from 3 downs to 4? I hope it doesn’t happen, but if it is a choice between 4 down football or no football, how many die hards truly mean it when they say they’ll opt for the latter? And like it or not, diehards have not kept the league profitable and are an aging population. Exhaust other options please (like better marketing in the trouble spots) but status quo isn’t working.
