    Covid-19

Funny, the articles I read all pointed out how Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic medicine but that people were buying the horse version and not getting it prescribed. (Because it's not a treatment for Covid) I think some people just confuse Twitter with journalism and conflate the two. Just like all the other things that people were putting in their bodies to "cure" themselves.

  6. As we get prepped for mini-camp opening next Wednesday, here's Our Man Tait with his annual "Positional Preview" series, starting with "The Specialists": https://www.bluebombers.com/2022/05/05/positional-preview-specialists-5/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

  7. Never have I seen so many street signs broken or gone after a winter and the amount of hubcaps and car parts littering boulevards, plus all the damage done to curbs, this winter in a word was vicious.

No ethical medical doctor would prescribe Ivermectin for COVID infection. As soon as it was proposed by the nutball fringe, doctors were reminded that such would be "off-label"- not approved for treating COVID. If a medical doctor does this, they would be subject to censure by their medical associations and liable to criminal and civil prosecution. There are very strong prohibitions against off-label drug usage. For people suffering from melancholic treatment-resistant depression (TRD) there was very credible but anecdotal evidence that Ketamine can provide relief when all other measure have failed. I has a patient who was suffering from TRD and had done so for so long that he was actively considering suicide as this had gone on for years and his life was unbearable. I could not find any doctor to prescribe Ketamine despite the acute ideation. Promising trials were underway in New York and Ottawa but nothing locally. Long story short, he found some from the street and it did relieve the depression and he was able to have a life. And it still not approved.

  9. If Dobson is here, and Eli appears from the Abyss we are still stacked at O-line with all the returnees....now if Desjarlais shakes free at some point in season, and returns....we are crazy stacked, to almost being unfair....but that leads back to the solid management and direction this team is at, and the smart drafting and player retention. Same can be said about Kongbo...this is his last NFL stab, and if he shakes free...and returns which I cant see why he wouldn't...the flexability/depth and skill level on defense with our nationals is gonna be crazy good too

  11. Two areas that we were particularly concerned with going into last season was DB and WR. They brought in tons of both and both turned out to be a strength in the end. They're doing the same this year. No reason to think they can't do well with both again.

What pitiful pearl clutching by the CPC, especially after members proudly supported the Covidiot Clown Convoy with their F*ck Trudeau flags. Lousy hypocrites.

People started to ignore the science because it disagreed with their opinion. Yes there was lots of info, but the science is constantly changing and public health was/is trying to keep on top of all the latest. I'm not the smartest guy out there, but I appreciate having the latest info always. I trust our public health officers and completely understand the difficult job they've had.

  17. yeah...as it stands right now we have the best line, and 100 % we go national at safety to break camp. 100% certain we have Desjarlais money socked away for any return this yr, hence why we didnt go stupid in free agency after we signed our key guys, and why Harris was taking a shave, because if anyone doesn't think he was expendable if he didnt accept that deal, then your out to lunch. If Desjarlais doesnt shake free this yr, you know Walters will use that money for some one who does

Some, sure. But not all media. And a lot of this actually goes to headlines. And while you can claim people should be reading the entire article, we all know if people see something enough times, it starts to get believed. And that is irresponsible journalism. A few examples https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/joe-rogan-covid-19-ivermectin-horse-dewormer-1219720/ "‘Crazy Times’: Joe Rogan Got Covid and Ate a Cocktail of Meds Including a Horse Dewormer" https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/joe-rogan-contracts-covid-19-treated-himself-with-horse-dewormer-1235007061/ "Joe Rogan Says He Tested Positive for COVID-19, Takes Unproven Horse Dewormer" And the worst perpetrator of this was CNN, where even some of their own contributors criticized the network for how it handled and characterized it. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/10/joe-rogan-cnn-horse-dewormer-covid https://nypost.com/2021/10/16/cnn-contributor-blasts-network-over-ivermectin-coverage/ https://ca.news.yahoo.com/joe-rogan-considers-suing-cnn-190606533.html https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10119183/CNN-wont-apologize-bruising-ego-Joe-Rogan-claiming-hed-taken-horse-dewormer.html Even the FDA had tweets with headlines saying things like you are not a horse or a cow, you shouldn't take Ivermectin. These are all half trues that when people dig into the larger picture, sow distrust. I'm not a fan of either people or sides lying or spreading misinformation. But only one side of this continually gets pushed and spread, so I don't feel the need to re-iterate or bring it up again. Should Rogan have pushed Ivermectin as a Covid cure? No. Absolutely not. But the after effects off what happened made the situation worse. Not better. The headlines were everywhere at the time. Where do you think tweets and things like Tracker posted earlier in this thread originally came from? The was an overabundance of reports that Rogan took horse de-wormer, and then people are surprised people self medicate on horse dewormer? A more honest headline would be Rogan takes Ivermectin, a parasitic drug not approved for Covid. And while many news outlets did report along those lines, there were too many that didn't. CNN being the worst. It is irresponsible.

  24. If every one is healthy, and gray is killing it, they could rotate neufeld and gray and keep both on the AR. You don't see that often, but I'm a big fan of it. Especially if you have great chemistry between all the OL. We have pioneered/championed the DL rotation in the cfl. And reaped great rewards from keeping guys fresh and letting them go harder in fewer reps, but still stick to the every rep every down, same guys on the OL.

Fair enough. However what frustrates me is when someone lies and/or disseminates misinformation that hurts others then someone else reports on these lies/misinformation but adds their own narrative on top of that which can be misleading and/or false, the first reaction for some is to deal with the latter first and then it feels like the original lie/misinformation is being exonerated by deflecting the attention to other liars/misleaders. All I ever hear when some are reacting to stories like this is False narratives everywhere, Bias's, everyone is pushing their own agenda's, everyone lies etc etc and that's where the conversation stops. It's a perfect scenario for a liar to feel no consequence for their behaviour. 'Look they're lying too!' My wife and I have two children, a daughter and son. We've all lied, some more impactful then others. We've also exaggerated and/or added misleading information to the original lie. However, most times we have paid a consequence for a lie we have told regardless of another one of us lying as well.

  33. our scouting pool, and network pretty much from last yr already now is firmly established...and thats why we have seen the fluidity of the roster and basically just re-loads, and opposed to starting from scratch. Also the organization too has become the first call from Agents with clients they are peddling, quality ones with needed tape for a one last NFL shot. The top to bottom professionalism and true "pro" environment and team culture is a huge factor in this. We had hyped guys before, but when u went to camp you could see the jump from college to pro was to big for most...last few yrs been a bit different, and this yr now we allowwd to attend camp should be interesting to watch...some real true legit prospects this yr to push the vets
    2 points
  34. Sure we say that every year about new receivers in camp, but maybe it’s because every year we see how the scouting system set up by McManus/Goveia digs deeper into the prospect pool? This regime has shown me how much it takes to establish a real scouting network, and even then how it takes time to really get rolling.

    Covid-19

My beef with the media and by extension public health, is the way things were reported There was a new Covid study reported in the media literally EVERY DAY Too Much Information - has been a huge problem during the pandemic People started the ignore the Science, because quite frankly, one study or one article often contradicted another one That happened because Science is fluid, which is exactly why not all of it should end up in the media
