A select few observations from someone who had a couple too many pops tonight.... Really liked, for the most part what I saw from Dru Brown. I think there's a couple of times where he left the pocket too soon - which he confessed to in the post game on OB, but still a good showing. Prukop...yikes. Underthrown balls on both picks. Decent mobility but no real rhythm with him under centre. I know Oliveria is the local kid, but Johnny Agustine needs to start week 1. Schoen reminds me of Jamie Stoddard even if he is American. Catch the ball, turn upfield, no BS. Just gets the yards. Ford seemed to have a rough time at corner. Maybe it was vanilla defensive calls, but a tough first game. Oh well. Didn't catch the numbers or names, but there was definitely a few "oh he's cut" moments, whether it was the special teams fumble, or losing contain on the QB or missed tackles. Like some have said, it was different not hearing Bob, but DT had some good bits I enjoyed and look forward to the calls for the rest of the year. Overall, fun to be back at the park on a beauty of a Friday night. Pre and post game tailgating, burgers, hot dogs, and hopefully the start of another championship run.

36 was Malcolm Thompson I believe and I agree he looked good.

Dru Brown is QB2 right now imo. It's Prukop that will have to show much more.

I know many, many people who aren't fans of the CFL. None of those people complain about the Canadians. To me this would indicate that if you want to attract those fans, you are looking at the wrong problem.

1 Dru brown. One of the best qbs on the field today. Tremendous surprise, seemed like if he had more reps than dakota we mightve won. 2 Schoen / Jackson. Both rookie wrs showed well. Schoen early catching every thing, and jackson putting up production with worse qbing. 3 Cadwallader, and Ford. Both sure handed tackles when the game was in a rough stretch for the D. hh Cole adamson getting a sack Mancuso for being the 2nd best qb with out taking a rep. Demski and Augustine for giving us a glimpse of what we can expect this year.

Don't think we will really miss a beat with Harris gone...Johnny A just kept on doing what he been doing I could see Thompson being season opening safety...and pretty sure Malik Clements solidified one DI spot Hope agadusi gets to show what he has next game..as I know team is high on him...thiinking him..Jackson and Schoen will all make squad

They did, in fact, hand out rosters at the game. It was a godsend for trying to figure out who was who.

Agreed, Prukop made some terrible pass attempts in the game and Brown showed more escapability.

Brown staking a claim for pre season mop Sounds like a whole other animal vs what we saw last year. It’s pre season but he’s played mostly starters and it’s been a good game.

I do like the energy DT is bringing. He is also in pre-season mode and shaking off any rust he might have, should only get better. 'HOT pre-season action'

Welp i am stuck working the weekend may as well listen to this one. Should be interesting how BC deals with life after Michael Reilly.

I really liked his post game interview. Talked about his performance and some things he should have done better. But also addressed last years CGY game and how he was trying to be so careful with the ball to not create turnovers and hiw that mindset led to mistakes and Ultimately turnovers. I thought he looked far better than prukop and I expect him to be the #2 this year.

Yeah...the designated 49%ers are basically gonna be Romby Bryant 2014 type guys. Guys that have the tenure but aren't good enough to start. It's going to create a class of crappy Americans holding on because they can take Canadian snaps while blocking American rookies and Canadians from getting on the roster/field. Not sure how this helps the product.

This accomplishes absolutely nothing. If a team has a talented American with 3 years experience, they want him starting - not subbing in for a Canadian I guess it could work in the trenches. But how many American guards or centres have been in the league for 3-5 years? Probably close to 0. Take the Bombers as an example: do they have an American DT eligible to rotate with Jake Thomas? No.

I hope we can get the kicking game straightened out quickly......How many times do we have to hear that before the team 'gets it'.....From reports in the offseason Mourtada was supposed to have picked up his game.....IF we see a weak kicking effort on Tues. against the riders...the 'uh oh' crowd is going to get louder....Too important a part of the game to go with 'near do wells'

Observations from being there: Both Brady and Johnny looked good, Johhny is more explosive, should be a dynamic tandem. No concerns there. Schoen and Blake Jackson stood out at WR. Prokoup looked awful, while Drew Brown surprised. Kick coverage needs some work The Elks having extra TC time showed.

Some obvious cuts for sure but I will say, I was impressed with what I saw from Dru Brown, a few of the receivers, Jordan Berner, Malik Clements, Will Evans and I also noticed Patrice Rene looks MASSIVE out there on the corner and I don’t think his man got targeted once.

I dont know who 36 was but he had a couple nice plays, read the snap count and laid the wood a couple times. Also thought Augustine played well, and Prukop may be looking over his shoulder a bit.

Pre season. Yup Listening on radio so... hard to tell really. Prukop tho obviously sucked. Terrible numbers. Interception and sacked to end game. You expect that from a pure rookie getting his first snaps not a guy with experience in the league. Cut him? Mourtada missing a convert... just go with legghio. Oh no fg attempts? Ofcourse lol. Schoenn and Jackson sounded strong Problem with playing vanilla D... the O doesn't get as many chances but at the same time Prukop handed the ball right back to Edmonton and his final numbers are FUGLY Brown seemed more consistent Prukop tho 5 of 14 81 yards Part of the reason the O didn't see the field as much was 5 of 14.

It's a thing he does. We call it a "crutch"... Likely doesn't even know he's doing it. Think DT is having a solid night. There's always nerves with a first broadcast, but it's polished and a ton of energy. It'll only get better and better.

I used to like poke fun at how bad the CFL and or TSN was at marketing the game....It's no longer a joke. It's become a serious problem that the league needs to fix asap. This league is ******* doomed.
