  1. Simoni Lawrence is garbage.

  2. Griffin actually tucked his chin and led with his helmet, which I'm pretty sure is also not allowed. I would argue that both guys could have been called on that play.

  3. It’s not intent but the rule is that you can’t lower your head to initiate contact and can’t contact head and neck as the primary point of contact at all on any ball carrier. They should flag this like crazy until there is compliance. They don’t want guys sticking their head in rather than actually tackling, that’s how you end up with more Hefney’s with neck injuries. There’s also the CTE issue.

  4. Did I blame Rose's poor performance on Thompson? Rose was awful. I also didn't think Thompson played well.

  6. I've felt that, since 2019, the reason our defense separates itself from other defenses, is their cohesiveness. That will come back and we know they have the talent.

  7. honestly, I don't think any of us is savvy enough to understand all the responsibilities on the field and know who was covering up for whose mistake. This is one of those things where I'd like to be able to sit and watch game film with coaches and players to fully understand what happened out there. It's easy for a fan to watch it on TV or at the stadium and think they know what's going on, but really, we have no ******* clue.

  8. https://cfldb.ca/rulebook/fouls-and-penalties/major-fouls/ CFL Rulebook for 2022 Article 4 - Unnecessary Roughness g. Delivering a blow to an opponent in the neck or head Doesn't say anything about targeting, but it is absolutely in the rules that it is Unnecessary Roughness for hitting a player in the head, should have been a penalty, that's why it was fined.

  9. Zach Collaros, Winnipeg Blue Bombers From underhand flips to Brady Oliveira in space to an immediate connection with Greg Ellingson, Collaros was his usual cool, playful self in Week 1. It’s easy to forget now that Collaros has two Grey Cup wins and 20-starts under his belt with the Blue and Gold. However, watching him battle against former Hamilton quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was reminiscent of Ticats’ training camp from nearly a decade ago, where the two former teammates would each run an offensive unit with their unique and successful styles. For Collaros the order of the day was attacking Hamilton in the middle of the field. After so much discussion about getting the ball to the edges and throwing vertically to the short side as a result of the hashes getting a readjustment this off-season, the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in 2021 used his veteran savvy to go counterculture. Picking apart Ottawa the way he’s always done to opposing offences, maneuver the pocket with great ease and take the ball where the defence leads him. https://www.cfl.ca/2022/06/14/ferguson-week-1-target-chart-analysis/

  10. Evans came in and lead with forearm and elbow to top of head...go watch it it's obvious....and that extra force when he was already basically down and tackled caused the head to bounce on turf...total missed call...and if u want to protect QB's and send that message...anything like that should be called

  11. I didn't expect any sudden changes. Let's see what the game looks like if we get a better pass rush and Rose plays it a little safer.

  12. watching this replay just makes me cringe... especially the juxtaposition of Suitor wondering aloud about Collaros having a "comeback" season followed by the clip of that hit... normally we're pretty anti-Riders around here, no matter the circumstances... but I remember everyone here agreeing what an absolutely horrible hit that was that should've seen Lawrence ejected and suspended for multiple games... Best part about it is Zach got his revenge against Lawrence... and wearing the right colours 😁

yeah be interesting to say the least also interesting to see if they can get more than 11 000 fans there...poor Andrew likes to pander to the crowd to get energy and the place fired up....won't be happenings there

Rod Smith / Dunigan is the best combo in the booth. Dunigan is a superb color man and he and Smith have a good rhythm where they're both talking at the right times. Smith does a great job of leaving room for Dunigan's crazy uncle outbursts. This is bang on.

I am concerned that we will become so inured to these preventable deaths that we will recalibrate and accept them as inevitable and acceptable.

  18. Especially in Hall’s scheme where each DB (including any LBs who aren’t blitzing) has route coverage responsibilities. If you’re assuming “safety” means a guy just staying on top of one side of the field covering a deep half or covering the middle third none of what you’re watching in this D will make sense. Who the “safety” is in that over the top coverage sense changes based on the alignment and routes run by the opposing offense.

  21. Evans came in with a forearm/elbow to top of ZC helmet as he was already basically in grasp and given himself up... And that extra contact...which wasn't necessary caused the head to bounce off the turf...was more of a shot than WJ on Evan's on that 1st quarter sack in 2019 grey cup

  22. The new alternate has dual stripes on the shoulders with two purposes, they flatter a fit individual, and they represent back to back championships. The visual broadening of the shoulders accents the upper “V” of a masculine physique from behind. Notably becoming to females. The “Royal Blue” is consistent with fans all time favourite, and blends beautifully in the stands. Mrs. Black’s sister was particularly delighted to report her reaction equated to the first time she witnessed a shorn scrotum, currently her favourite. Both of which may not be for everyone but certainly remarkable and possibly a popular, lucrative, spin on a classic colour. I suspect brother Wade had influence in the design.

Smith and Dunigan are professionals, period. I really miss Gord Miller doing CFL games...I honestly feel like he's better at football than hockey. Or, at least, I prefer him on a football broadcast. Miller and Dunigan was an incredible combination.

  25. I feel like, if last week was in Ottawa and this week in Winnipeg, we'd kick the ever loving **** out of them this week. Being on the road, it might not be a blow out, but I still feel like we're going to win comfortably. Just a gut feeling (....and with a gut this big, I can't possibly be wrong....)

    TSN's Panel & Crew

CFL on TSN hot takes: There were a lot of dire games in 2021 with zero scoring, bad offence, lots of mistakes, just awful football, and I really appreciate and respect how the panel didn't sugarcoat those bad games. I remember this one tripleheader of really shitty games and by the end the panel was punchy and resentful, just like I was. Rod Smith / Dunigan is the best combo in the booth. Dunigan is a superb color man and he and Smith have a good rhythm where they're both talking at the right times. Smith does a great job of leaving room for Dunigan's crazy uncle outbursts. Dustin Neilson is so much better than Rod Black that it's hard to know how good he actually is because he's still got that Not Rod Black halo on. Occasionally Suitor will show me something interesting, usually when he's breaking down a play or a coverage pre-snap. I don't pay much attention to him otherwise. When Milt makes a point I'm never sure if it's because he sincerely believes it or because he's playing a character who issues spicy hot takes like an internet rando. Kate Beirness is a decent host and I don't mind her vibe at all. she's not super funny but neither are 99% of the other people on TV. The panel is worth watching for the outfits. Whoever is dressing those guys is killing it. My wife and I have been scoring it for awhile now and Milt is slightly ahead of Matty, but Milt is also built like a model and you can dress him in ways you can't dress the others, so he's got a little bit of an advantage there.

  31. I also think the coach's know that Thompson's strong suit isn't his coverage, so he's probably not deep for a reason. Whereas Rose probably shouldn't have have been playing as aggresive as he was.

  32. That was just awful. Genuinely thought that was the end of Zach’s football career. He looked so dejected after that cheap shot.

  38. He repeated how the defender didn’t turn his head (not hips, for a change) to the outside fast enough to break up a TD pass. Trouble is; the pass was caught on the inside of the defender. Mentioned it at least twice and once while the replay was being aired.

  41. There isn’t anyone on the panel or broadcast that I can’t stand (unless Suitor is being a huge homer) but I’d like to see a lineman given a chance on the broadcast. I’d appreciate the added perspective. Dustin Nielson has been a nice recentish addition and Rod Smith is my favourite. I wish there were two of him so he could be on the broadcast and host the panel.

I wanna take the Riders RB because they're basically guaranteed a TD but I just can't bring myself to do it. It sickens me. I'll piggyback Booch and take Demski. He let me down last week but hopefully busts out this week. I have a good feeling about this week's game...

    US Politics

I am afraid that with your political system being what it is and with the unrestricted, massive flow of money both in the open and dark money to sway candidates, there is little chance of meaningful change in your country. The massive inequality and concentration of power has created system that benefits few and fuels the violence and unrest there. I feel for the many good people in America who are essentially powerless.

  46. many other less severe, and almost accidental hits to a head via a shld, and forearm has been called in my opinion way too often, how this hit where it was total intent to smack the guy in the head was missed is almost laughable....he totally intended to do what he did, and the positin of Schoen, and the fact he was fumbling...or even ctaching the ball is irrelevant....should have been a penalty....plain and simple....
