    Lock of the Week 3

Surgery was a success. I'm back replete with a new left titanium shoulder. Gonna be awhile till I'm back to normal. Still pretty sore. Honestly didn't know what to expect.

  2. Montreal should use Harris to get them to the red zone and then swap in VAJ to seal the deal since Harris is allergic to Touchdowns

  4. Vernon Adams is fun to watch but he does make a ton of boneheaded game losing plays. I really think Harris gives them a better chance of winning week-in-week-out.

  5. To be completely honest I don’t hate Fajardo because he’s simply not good enough for me to hate, I’ve never once been worried about the prospect of Fajardo carving up our defence.

  6. Jones just sunk his own ship. He'll be gone before the end of the year. I had to go look it up. In 4 games in 2019 he generated 3 Tds. 2 passing and 1 rushing. In 3 games in 2021 he generated 1 TD which was passing. So in total he has 4 TDs in 7 games.

  7. bout as vanilla and pedestrian as I have ever seen...and agreed....minimal multiple sets...misdirection...sweeps...play action....and Bailey and Demski have seen next to no targets so far....obviously they cooking up something

  8. man...Gray is doing just fine.....people here are clamoring for something that isn't even an issue....Dobson needs time to learn the CFL and get acclimated....Gray would easily start on a lot of teams right now...I seen Hardrick and Couture right wiff on several plays this yr and nobody is saying replace them....and the run game lack of production has nothing to do with that side of the O-line...it's from minimal rush attempts and a very vanilla and plain scheme...revisit this in 5 games and if we cant run the ball and ZC is getting pounded I am sure u will see some tweeks

  9. Personally I don’t put any stock in qb records. I think it’s more a curio then a metric. like our record when blink / harris ran for 100 yards or more. If you put that range harris on the riders They might do worse because of the ol and mobility. But if you put cf on the harris teams I think they’d be much much worse. if either was the rbs qb this year I think we’d have creamed them bad.

  12. Gray is a big boy....doesnt carry a lot of the extra weight some olineman do...but to make up for that and being hard to move, and able to move things is his power lifter background....he knows how to be stout and powerfull..

  13. AGREE.....I think Als have better chance to win this week with Harris....he's seen pretty much everything the Riders will toss out there..Adams nope...and would been making mental errors left and right

  14. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I believe a 36 year old Trevor Harris gives Montreal the best chance to win. I mean atleast If you look at his numbers statistically. He can throw the ball and limit his turnovers, Adam’s may have that X factor to take over a game but his play is wildly inconsistent.

  15. *HE* absolutely didn't almost do anything, other than consistently over-throw and otherwise outright miss receivers. As Booch has mentioned, he has nothing outside of broken plays where he runs around and acts like he's lost. Worst arm of any starting QB in the league.

  16. Yeh Gray's size really suits Tackle much better than Guard. Won't happen as long as Bryant and Yoshi are around though

  17. I want to see Brandon Alexander back.....I'm sure he must be around the corner....Hansen in the line-up will also give the opposition an uneasy feeling and a few players will have their heads on a swivel...That's missing from our game right now.....nobody dealing out those punishing hits....That's gotta change

  18. yeah I figured it was in that range.....and cant see it getting better this yr...so bridesmaid again to us....if they even get a playoff game vs us

  20. I don’t think they want to tip their hat so early, especially since the majority of the starters didn’t get any reps in during the pre season, lots of timing issues and the guys getting back into their grove after the first two weeks. No doubt in my mind you’ll see an expanded playbook later into the season.

  21. Still don't understand why Brunette was let go, but this is a good opportunity for Maurice.

  22. Has it ever been completely even? Gray has an edge in that he's been with the team for a couple seasons so he's got familiarity & continuity with the coaches and players. That's a temporary advantage though and if his on-field performance isn't good enough, it won't matter at all.

The uptick in shoplifting probably prompts the stores to bring in off duty police for a few days as a deterrent. Just the last few weeks I seen a woman with a over stuffed cart running out thru the in gates and a guy just casually walk out thru the checkout with a basket full of meats.

Keep the emotion in check. Let the emotion come from the witnesses testifying. Of a lawyer starts screaming about the case and how horrible it is, they will lose credibility in the eyes of the court. But if a witness gives wrenching testimony it will hit harder. Hearing the civilian poll worker “Lady Ruby” talk about being targeted by the President and how it has upended her life is much more powerful than Adam Schiff going off on a rant. I read the entire transcript of Trump’s call to Brad Raffenspurger, the Georgia Secretary of State. So much pathetic begging and useless logic he relies on (“I won by a lot, just look at the size of my rallies, no way I could have lost”). And when he is called out for following unverified social media he says “no it’s Trump media” like he thinks that means no bias. Astounding how much effort they put into the lie and the pressuring with zero evidence to back them up. And a tiny point but a hilariously cringe-worthy moment in the call: Trump is talking to and presumably trying to butter up one of Raffenspurger’s lawyers who is in on the call and disagreeing with Trump’s assertions of fraud. His name was Ryan Germany. Trump says “I heard [you] were very difficult, but I’m sure you’re a good lawyer. I like your last name”. Wow. Show me you’re a Nazi without saying you’re a Nazi.

  25. I’m starting to think Fajardo lives rent free in the minds of some of you guys lol that’s an absolutely nothing quote. If Collaros said that, we’d be happy to praise him for it

In a perfect world..no...in today's reality politics and media/anti-media are driving sensible people out to the fringes. I would hope that in the near future that a return to centre and away from the fringes will make a much needed correction to the very polarized and non-sensical approach many are taking now in politics and political support. It is gross. I like some policies and beliefs from every party on the spectrum, but some will never admit that each party has some redeeming qualities and will instead villify them and their supporters. That is so sad imo. Being open to opinion and debate without name calling and labelling those who opposed our viewpoint used to be what made Canada such a better place than America. Now, our politics are just as gross.

  28. He's more of a scat back but Walter Fletcher should pick up some of the slack, with decent blocking he can find holes, fun to watch.

  29. I was kind of leaning the same way. For a season I’d go with cf narrowly. For a single game I might go with Harris because he can hit the broad side of a barn deep. Both are about as un clutch I think. I can’t ever imagine cf throwing 4600 yards 30 tds 11 ints or comparable quality.
    1 point
  30. If they were the same age ,that is a tough one.Harris throws a better deep ball,CF is more mobile. But right now you would have to lean towards CF imo...but that is a good comparison.

  31. Lol I suppose I should have actually looked at his stats before saying that. But I swore he had a couple td passes that game. Harris will definitely move the ball, but I just don't ha e any faith in him to put his team in a position to score.

  32. I'll never support or get behind VAJ after the helmet swinging incident with Biggie, along with staying in the game, and the league basically looking the other way. (especially with a similar instance at the time in the NFL and that guy got severely punished) Not gonna be a fan of that guy ever.
    1 point
  33. Yes, but VAJ is the same as he always has been. Honestly, anyone out of the PAC 10 gets Farhan all hot and bothered, so I bet it was him.
    1 point
  34. Yeah I’m not saying he’s small, he’s the modern athletic style of linemen. He’s not a guy who will drop 60 lbs after football. Height is often looked at as a disadvantage in power lifting too. I would much prefer to see his body type and athletic make up become the standard in linemen. And I think it will. But it will take longer on the inside positions. A lower center of gravity and 30 extra lbs is just tough to replace.

  36. Last year, TSN was selling the idea that VAJ was the face of the league. I can't remember if it was Farhan or Dave. Unless it was 3Down? But, I'm certain it was TSN.

  39. Look at the most important numbers though. Trevor Harris does not put the ball into the endzone. He didn't in Ott, he didn't in EDM or MTL last year. Maybe he's figured it out, but I not betting on it. I'll take Adams over Harris 100% of the time. He rallies fairly well, but fails when it's mattered most. Also without the Defense he has, none of those games are even remotely close.
    1 point
  40. I think as always this will lead to a lot of yards and not enough tds with Harris at qb. But just the top and consistent yards should be good.

  42. What we see is very much the defense prior to last year. Until jeffcoat came back any way. With him back it’s already better now. The dl will adapt to no nose. And eventually ba will be healthy. At that point our defense will be excellent.

  43. he's a big time whiner...same as Hank was. When Burris came off the bench just prior to the RBs GC win, supposedly injured, but stepped in and won that day, I'll always remember his back patting "What more do I have to do in this game??" (to prove how great he is).......and it's the same thing with CoFaj. "Siiiiiiigh, I'll tough it out...like I always do........" (because I'm such a tough guy.....)

  45. Oh no not Lofton. If that guy starts at tackle may as well sit collaros so he doesn’t miss the rest of the season.

  46. he has some speed and quickness and definitely has to be accounted for out there...had 370 yards and 4 td's in that crap show in Edm last year...I'd pick him up

  47. Jones being Jones.....he'd be a valuable depth guy for sure....I bet would do well in our system too
