  1. The Garrett Marino of this forum.

  2. Is this code for "I tweeted a bunch of **** I can't stand by and I'm covering it up now"? I get that one thing is more important than the other but they are completely unrelated.

  3. Rest in piss Marino. You were suspended for more games than you had sacks this season. Congrats! But seriously, nine tackles, one sack, four games suspended… and people are upset we released him? Lanier/Dabire/Christmas will easily mirror that production, and not attempt to injure the other team in the process. This is a win for the Riders to get that clown off the roster.

  5. Know that the Canadian Mafia handled this calmly and assertively...Marino blew his last chance in the LDC and it's all on tape.

  6. again, I'm absolutely certain the league said "enough is enough..." and told the Riders as much:

  7. just look at ours...Sayles...22 tackles...3 sacks.......Thomas...in a rotation...10 Tackles...1 ST tackle and 3 sacks...Cameron Lawson 8 tackles and 1 sac (rotational reps) Ricky Walker 6 tackles...1 special team tackle and a sac...in 6 games and hmmm...not a fine or suspension between them...great team guys...classy.....11-1 team and class of the league all around.....vs 6-6 team....and a joke on all fronts.....interesting

  8. But doesn't that sum up this Rider team in a nutshell - lack of awareness? Many (I won't say all because they do have some quality individuals on that team) simply bask in the echo chamber that they and their fans have created for themselves. They are ego driven. Feel that the league is out to get them. It's an "us against them" mentality and it breeds selfishness. That's what separates this club from that one. Under O'Shea, it's never been "us against them" .. it's always been about being accountable, to yourself and your teammates. Execute your assignments. Give what you have to the guys on the field. Be a professional. If you do that, your accolades will come. It breeds selflessness.

  13. I went to the 2018 cup in Edmonton with 16 buddies from work and needless to say it was a mess. When the bombers clinched a spot in the cup in 2019 I knew it would be special and I needed tickets. My son was 8 at the time and I knew I needed to take him because he would watch the games with me but you could tell he was doing it just to make me happy. My wife was very against this idea after hearing a few of the stories from the year before and was very clear i should go but that he wasn’t allowed to come. The next day she was at work and I said screw it and bought him and I tickets and planned my trip out and she was clearly not happy with me. My buddy(I watch every game with him) had bought a motor home a month before from a dealership in Calgary and was scheduled to fly in on the Friday to pick it up and then drive home. He obviously wanted to change his plans and get tickets to spend the weekend and go to the game. The problem was that his wife was over 9 months pregnant and he didn’t want to leave her at home 8 hours away in case she went into labour. I offered to drive her to Calgary so he could be there potentially for his kids birth and catch the game too! We took part in all the festivities leading up to the cup and myself and my boy had a weekend I will never forget. The day of the cup was incredibly nerve racking and I fought back emotions all day. We went super early to McMahon and soaked in every minute we could. I honestly can’t describe how special it was to be there with my son and when the bombers rushed the field to celebrate I looked over at my son and he was absolutely bawling. I lost control of myself and we were screaming and crying with all the other fans. Since that day, he has been a passionate and loyal fan. (my wife later told me that she was so glad I didn’t listen to her and took him)

  16. This beauty from a typical mouth-breathing cousin loving clownshoe one province over "If Boyd from Ottawa could block, Marino wouldn't be a marked man, the push from behind that drove Marino into his legs wouldn't have happened. Marino probably still would have got a late hit based on his momentum but it wouldn't be a lynching offence".

  18. Remember Zach also revealed that Demski played the last Grey Cup with cracked ribs. I initially thought he was throwing shade at the commish when taking the most outstanding Canadian award… but it’s clear the exhaustion and pain on his face was from gutting it out, all the way to the ultimate victory.

  19. Dave Naylor @TSNDaveNaylor · Follow Hearing that a memo has gone-out from CFL commissioner @RandyAmbrosie regarding Garrett Marino, reminding teams that he can refuse to register any player contract for any reason deemed valid. Presumably the valid reason in this instance would be player safety. #CFL #Riders 9:22 AM · Sep 7, 2022

  20. The loss of Wilson has coincided 2 yrs running in our trouble with the run...his skill set and his ability to allow guys around him to do other things is huge for us...if we could get him back sooner than later, find a Wilson clone, or be able to swing a trade for a similar kind of guy, that would be a huge boost for us...Factor in the fact BA will be back in the backend very soon....it may just be what we need to get us back to 2021 total dominance.

  22. That big boy was Miles Brown, 320 lbs of gap plugger. The last two games have badly exposed the Bombers weakness against the run, it may be partially due to their depleted depth at LB, but I have to think they haven't found the answer yet to the absence of Stove and Nevis at DT. Sayles and Jake are decent overall DT's but they need a bigger plug in the middle that can't be moved, it appears Ricky Walker and Lawson are just duplicates of the two starters, decent but not great.

  23. Marino was a complete non-factor, barely even mentioned during the broadcast, until the stain took a cheap shot at Collaraos at the end of the game. In fact, he's such a non-factor, it's the only time he's ever mentioned - when he's trying to hurt someone. Get out of the league, get out of the country.

  24. You should come. Just plan it beforehand for accommodations as not every hotel in Winnipeg is walking distance to the stadium or tailgate events like in Regina. O'Shea is quickly becoming a candidate for a statue outside the stadium, but I would never sign any coach to a 10 year contract. At some point and time every coach has a shelf life.

  25. Can you imagine the obliteration the NFL media would give a Head Coach that said he knew he would lose a challenge but wanted to support his player after a correct call was made? Particularly after they could have used that TO in a tight game? What a ******* doorknob. The worst franchise in the history of NA sports just never ceases to embarrass itself.

  26. As much as I'm a lifelong Bombers fan and lifelong Riders hater, I don't actually want to see this happen as I don't want to see any player intentionally injured by a jackass like Marino, not even Cody - hopefully Marino never sees a single down in the CFL ever again. Having said that, it would be karma biting Saskatchewan on the ass once more 🙄.

  27. Great times! There was about 8 of us in total and we rented a nice airbnb home for the weekend. I wanted to use my Airmiles but they had Calgary blocked ofcourse(screw you Airmiles), so i flew into Edmonton, rented a car, and drove down to Calgary lol. Spent a couple days with the boys and then it was Grey Cup time! So back story.....I missed watching the first half of the West Semi-Final against Calgary(Jets game), and then i also missed watching the first half of the West Final against Riders(family). Well, we won both and im fairly superstitious so......Were at the Grey Cup, the anthem has just ended and i turn to my buddies and say "ok boys, ill see you at the half". I explained to them earlier about my superstition but i guess they didnt believe me lol. So down i went into the underground concourse to wait until the 2nd half. But we come out on fire and i can hear things are looking good, so i start walking back up to my seats. Just then they get a glimpse of me and start yelling and waving "NO, GO BACK, GO BACK" lol, fearing my presence/broken superstition will change the game. So i came back to my seat after the half and reveled in the curb-stomping we gave to Hamilton with my buddies. We stayed for about an hour after the game, high-fiving players and talking with Wade and seeing him crying and truly thanking all the Bomber fans for being there. Tears were flowing from my eyes, and i was most certainly not alone. Took the c-train downtown for food+drinks after that and spent the whole ride cheering "O'Shea O'Shea O'Shea O'Shea, O'Shea, O'Shea" along with everyone else on the train. Partied into the night, didnt sleep, and drove back to Edmonton at around 3am to catch my flight at 7am. Never forget Grey Cup 2019. P.S. I still havent watched any first halfs of Bomber playoff games live, and wont until we lose(if we ever do again that is). Youre welcome.

  28. I'm positive the league mandated this so don't go praising the Riders. I'm certain they didn't want to do it.

  30. I was in Hamilton for 2021. A road game in Hamilton with the Cup on the line. We won- Labour Day or even a Grey Cup on the road doesn’t worry me much any more. This team has seen it all and won.

As much as I hated the last second attempt against Montreal, it is clear that the Bombers and Legghio have handled it extremely well. O'Shea had his back from the start and Legghio noticed that the sun still came up the next morning and there was no manure on his driveway. Maybe you have to feel that crushing disappointment in yourself to realize that you are not going to be defined by a bad attempt, life goes on and you'll get 'em next time. Pretty clear from the dodged punt block that he isn't that concerned about what can go wrong on a play anymore (or at least now).

  33. A lack of discipline, especially to the point where he's basically hunting opposing QBs and getting punished for it, easily overshadowed whatever skill he brought to the table as an athlete. If the cons outweigh the pros, one could argue that makes him a pretty crappy player. Discipline is important. And in the case of Marino, the cons undoubtedly outweigh the pros.

  36. I just watched it at home with my wife & when the game was over, I exclaimed, "Oh my God, we won!!!" And started bawling my eyes out after realizing that awful 29 year wait was finally over. It was such a relief!! That win meant the world to me because at age 64 back then, I was starting to worry that I'd never see another Blue Bomber Grey Cup championship in my lifetime.

  37. I’m going to play a fun game. I haven’t read RF yet so I’m going to predict who I think is acting like a drooling bozo before I go over there and have a look. let me guess. Rileysrompers, bioben, maybe RDavidson hopping in making a bunch of weird comments full of puns … how far into the thread will someone make a “scared of Garrett Marino?” comment
