  1. LMFAO Danny Austin @DannyAustin_9 Dave Dickenson on whether he checks Twitter for updates on Nathan Rourke “If he plays, he plays. Farhan pretty much tweets out whether he uses the bathroom.”

  4. Hey guys, not sure if you heard this yet, but Farhan says Rourke Rourke, Rourkey Rourkey Rourke Rourke. Also, it looks like Rourke Rourke Rourke-meister Rourke-amatic Rourkey Rourke Rourke is going to Rourke Rourke in the Rourke. I hope Rourke doesn't Rourke too hard and Rourke his Rourke.

  9. when this team plays a game that it needs to win, it finds a way to win. The only time we've lost is when it really didn't matter. But every single time....even when we said "yeah, we're likely going to lose this one..." they came up big (vs Cgy and BC earlier this year). I truly believe in a MOS-led team in games that matter. They'll find a way.

  11. Such a big drop off that we have really had no issues. He should play the whole game. Honestly, I forget he is even on this team sometimes.

  12. We’ve had our share of low crowds when things were on a downturn here. From 1997-1999 we had a ton of no-shows, and barely averaged 20,000 paid attendance a game even with half price or giveaway tickets to paper the house. Actual in-stadium numbers were lower. Had almost a dozen games under 20,000 with a low of 15,000 in 1999. We’ve even had low crowds with a competitive team. Hosted a playoff game in 2003 with only 22,000 in the stands, and the infamous 12,210 home playoff game in 1988 when the fans stayed away en masse because the team lost 3 straight going into the playoffs that year. Then they got hot and won the Grey Cup, and all kinds of fans twisted ankles jumping back on the bandwagon. They even made T-shirts saying “I was 1 of the 12,210” to honour the diehards who did show up at that game. They sold 50,000 of them. Even as recently as our current dynasty, we’ve had the odd low crowd in the new barn. Had only 20,900 show up for a late season game in 2019, had 3 games under 23,000 last year, and 23,500 this year for A Grey Cup re-match. Bottom line, we have a solid fan base and are riding likely the greatest run of success the league has seen in over 40 years, and we still see some empty seats, should we shouldn’t feel too superior. If we lost 17 in a row, I guarantee we’d see a lot of empty seats, based on the 1990’s precedent. Let’s just enjoy the ride for now.

  13. You know what I love about die hard bomber fans? Through 29 years of losing, dismal management and coaching. Some real terrible terrible teams. Bomber fans still showed up to the games. I could be wrong but never do I remember a single game under 20 k. Nevermind 12k. Everyone gives Saskatchewan the title for best fans because the riders are all they have. The reality is the Bombers have always been relevant in our province. Win or lose. With, or without the Jets Kudos On another note though, I hate that I end of cheering for other teams to win games for the sake of the viability of the league. I shouldn't have to root for Edmonton to win a home game so they can start getting attendance up again. Cheering for Chris Jones to have success just seems... wrong Nonetheless I feel bad for Elks fans. Good on the ones who stick around

  14. I am still in the "i'll believe it when I see it" camp on this one. Known lions mouthpiece Farhan Lalji seems to be laying it on a little thick here.

  15. I highly doubt that... he already has a lucrative career in the financial sector, in Winnipeg... that's where I imagine his future is after football... maybe a guest coach during camp but I doubt full time.

  16. I'd like to see both those boys get the numbers they want, and then sit down. Definitely want to see Ellingson, and to a lesser extent Woli get reps. And young Hallet. I agree that if any of these 3 aren't 100% we'll probably find out, and I really don't want to find out in the WF .

  17. Again, if we're playing to top form, there is not another team that can hang with us. If we're not firing on all cylinders, then its a different matter. Even saying that we still win most often even when we're misfiring. Remember how we use to talk about playing someone like Calgary and people would say "If we play our best and they don't and we captitalize on their mistakes we can win"? Well the tables are turned now. Bring on Calgary or BC. They're coming to our house. Good luck with that.

  18. we have consistently not given up TD's even with yards against...and have consitently shown teams have had a heck of a time stopping us from scoring...some times at will...so a chilly game...at home..packed house in a one win gets u there shot...I like the odds...

  19. Cgy is the much more competitive match up for us, and even them I'm not overly concerned about

  20. thing is tho...Mcrae took Ellingson spot basically on the roster, and is a huge down grade receiver wise when we run 80 to 90% of our schemes...so yes a huge downgrade...Mcrae will still be used and on roster, and will serve the role he had when Ellingson was playing....and the fact now we will have both Schoen and Ellingson running from the slot, and various other spots is gonna make it real tough on defenses now, as u still have to consider Demski and Bailey, and clutch Woli

  22. I can tell. It's a meme thing. You've let someone know something without explicitly telling someone. Tell me you have **** GM who doesn't know how to a team, without telling me you have **** GM who doesn't know how to build a team.

  23. 29 years of losing and dismal management is a tad dramatic. We had really good teams many of those years. 1992 1993, and 1994 were very good. That 1993 team was one of the best in league history - if Dunigan doesn’t get hurt they likely win. Go look at the scores vs the Esks during the regular season. 1994 lost by a cross bar interfering with a wide open Wilcox. 2001 was one of the best teams in CFL history - they happened to play a bad game at the wrong time. 2002 they ran up against a future HOFer on a good team without Milt and lost a road game by a FG. 2007 they were the better team - they just had Glenn break his arm on a meaningless play. There were other quality teams along the way. Nobody else went into two GCs with their backup QB starting, that’s for sure.

  25. Doesn't really matter who we face in the final.....firstly one of those clubs will be coming out of a soft -arsed stadium, to play in the friendly confines of our '''let's say ' fresher air stadium that will probably be a lot 'chillier' than the west coast....Running game will definitely come into play....Not scared of the lions running attack and the stump's backs are going to get tested here....Going to be interesing on how it all turns out as we wait patiently with a rested and healthy club

  27. Looked back at last year and the Arkells were announced November 21st for the December 12th game. I wouldn't call this year exceedingly late, maybe just Dan Clark getting to his blockiing assignment late...

  28. That could quite possibly next yrs unit, if Schoen is gone for a bit then its Lawler for him....if he says I could even still see that unit, as Ellingson likely comes back a lot cheaper...but possibly he's one and done here and we trot out Lawler, Demski, Bailey, Woli and Agudosi...good luck with that group as well...and Bolo and Mcrae subbing in

  33. As much as I like the point you're making. This just isn't true. During the Reinbold days, crowds were often so small I was all alone in a upper deck section with my dad. We'd basically just go sit where ever we wanted up there. And once I was old enough he let me go down to the lower sections alone and I'd sit right behind the bench. We've had plenty of years with real bad attendance.
