2022 CFL Season - Non Back 2 Back Champs News

I can't remember if I've ever posted about this, so forgive me if I have, but one of my all time favourite movie moments is in the first Tom Holland Spiderman, when Tony Stark is going to have a press conference and announce him as the newest Avenger, and he says something along the lines of "behind that door is 100 media members......real ones, not bloggers....." and it makes me laugh and slow clap every single time I see it.6 points -

These are tired cliches. We beat them back to back and they had a bye week in between- that seemed like a tough ask. This was during the terrible part of our schedule as well. We beat them a month later for the 3rd time in a month- that seemed like a tough ask. Now it is “for a fourth time” is a tough ask. This team doesn’t care about what happened last game, the game before, the month before. I don’t think they even care about what happened the play before. It means nothing.6 points -

You posted a link without context, were questioned about it and said that it was important to listen to views from around the world. You then proceeded to try to connect it that to the fight for "personal freedoms" in Canada. I think there are rightly criticisms for doing that.5 points

pretty much that....most of Rourkes success was an immediate quick hit.....or a deep toss and hope the receiver won the battle....when the good teams took away the quick first read he was average at best....tossed many a pick, and didnt have the big point totals. And some the games where he had the chuck it up plays they got some serious lenient reffing on a lot of Off PI calls. Also feasted on the basement dwellers early, and skewwed both offensive and defensive stats...had EDM...T.O (when they were in dissaray)...feasted...met us and god molly whopped at home...had a bye then got HAM...SASK...EDM...barely beat Ham who have a good defense, and didnt really paste the Lowly Riders, had a 40-41 win against CGY and also lost to said Riders anyway....not a complete team....all or nothing offense which in cold weather play off ball isnt a recipe for success, and both lines are suspect......in a nut shell....They are almost a smoke and mirror version of 2019 Sask...and will be 1 and done in playoffs4 points -
So he will start... but Vaj will still play more... so then basically it is just a PR scam eh.4 points

they kind of have to... if they get Rourke back next year (i.e. he doesn't have NFL looks) his salary is literally going to quintuple (5x, I had to look the word up to confirm)... and that throws off their salary structure of all the money they've spent on receiver and O-line... Rourke will have a lot of different pass catching options next year.4 points -
glad they giving demski the extra rest...so he totally 100 percent for the wf...and almost certain his "injury" is nothing....he came back from a 5 game stint and ripped it up...he will be ready Feed BOLO3 points

I just find that kind of argument to be such a straw man argument. If the other team had played better and made more plays when they had the chance they would have won. That is literally the difference between winning and losing in every football game ever played. Nah.... we let them hang around.2 points -

Would that be the first game where we dropped multiple potential interceptions? Works both ways.2 points -
Yes, he would be BC property if he was signed by the NFL prior to next season, released by the NFL while CFL season was still underway. All 3 left for the NFL as their current CFL contracts were expiring. If they left during their option year NFL window allows, the CFL team maintains their rights for the remainder of the CFL contract. They have 10 days after their release to either get picked up by another NFL team, be placed on a PR, or the contract comes back into effect and they effectively cannot sign elsewhere in the NFL and are expected to return to their CFL team.2 points

from what I remeber we moved the ball at will almost...and were playing those games pretty banged up...with a lot of back ups...we are going into playoffs as healthy as we been...entire starting O-line...receiving corp...Oliviera in the zone....will have our full dline back, and a rotation piece in Adams now who has experience....Darby is back, Biggie healthy (from what I hear)...Parker has progressed big time from mid season, Lawrence likely solidifies the Taylor spot, and we could have Houston back....Cgy is the exact same team we beat 3 times...I like our chances at home...yup2 points -

Couture would have been the center come playoffs injury or not to Kolo....he played well when in, but nowhere near Couture level we just have to run our normal offence, and implement the couple wrinkles he have perfected, yet to be seen and we will be just fine...regardless of who we play in WF nad in Grey Cup if we advance, I'm not concerned one bit about offensive output, and putting up points. My only real concern right now is cover teams, and to a lesser extent run defense...but maybe we just being vanilla there too...we been so far out ahead, and in control most the games, and most of the season, and knew basically 2 games ago already we would likely host WF that why show all your cards and schemes...cause to my eye we were doing some odd tings, and some stuff that didnt make sense and almost seemed...well....dumb...so a bit of playing coy I think was being done2 points

thing is tho...Mcrae took Ellingson spot basically on the roster, and is a huge down grade receiver wise when we run 80 to 90% of our schemes...so yes a huge downgrade...Mcrae will still be used and on roster, and will serve the role he had when Ellingson was playing....and the fact now we will have both Schoen and Ellingson running from the slot, and various other spots is gonna make it real tough on defenses now, as u still have to consider Demski and Bailey, and clutch Woli2 points

We’ve had our share of low crowds when things were on a downturn here. From 1997-1999 we had a ton of no-shows, and barely averaged 20,000 paid attendance a game even with half price or giveaway tickets to paper the house. Actual in-stadium numbers were lower. Had almost a dozen games under 20,000 with a low of 15,000 in 1999. We’ve even had low crowds with a competitive team. Hosted a playoff game in 2003 with only 22,000 in the stands, and the infamous 12,210 home playoff game in 1988 when the fans stayed away en masse because the team lost 3 straight going into the playoffs that year. Then they got hot and won the Grey Cup, and all kinds of fans twisted ankles jumping back on the bandwagon. They even made T-shirts saying “I was 1 of the 12,210” to honour the diehards who did show up at that game. They sold 50,000 of them. Even as recently as our current dynasty, we’ve had the odd low crowd in the new barn. Had only 20,900 show up for a late season game in 2019, had 3 games under 23,000 last year, and 23,500 this year for A Grey Cup re-match. Bottom line, we have a solid fan base and are riding likely the greatest run of success the league has seen in over 40 years, and we still see some empty seats, should we shouldn’t feel too superior. If we lost 17 in a row, I guarantee we’d see a lot of empty seats, based on the 1990’s precedent. Let’s just enjoy the ride for now.2 points -
29 years of losing and dismal management is a tad dramatic. We had really good teams many of those years. 1992 1993, and 1994 were very good. That 1993 team was one of the best in league history - if Dunigan doesn’t get hurt they likely win. Go look at the scores vs the Esks during the regular season. 1994 lost by a cross bar interfering with a wide open Wilcox. 2001 was one of the best teams in CFL history - they happened to play a bad game at the wrong time. 2002 they ran up against a future HOFer on a good team without Milt and lost a road game by a FG. 2007 they were the better team - they just had Glenn break his arm on a meaningless play. There were other quality teams along the way. Nobody else went into two GCs with their backup QB starting, that’s for sure.2 points

So I had covid but being younger I never experienced those side effects however my neighbors across the street are older and the man went to a funeral recently and caught covid and it's been difficult for him. I'm gonna guess that depending on age and variant you get, it effects some ppl differently. I got this lingering cough now. Its not going away anytime soon. Best of luck coach2 points
