  2. Fun little Swaggerville bit- My daughter was dubbed "Little Miss Swaggerville" by the Winnipeg Sun. We went to the Bomber Store before Labour day, to pick up a shirt, my 4 year old in her Bomber cheerleader outfit. The players could see her coming up in line, and when she finally got there all the players were so happy to see her, joking that they were waiting for her. Odell Willis spent about 10 minutes joking with her, making the whole crowd laugh. Yeah they crapped the bed with that bravado, but one of my best Bomber memories. Still have the photo framed in my basement printed from the Sun, along with they ball and shirt they all signed..

  3. Did that for the entire season! In all of my years as a season ticket holder, this is the first year that I didn’t make it to a single home game thanks to a weird home schedule that basically didn’t have two home games in a row (making it not worth it for me to fly in) and sadly won’t be at the WF either but gave my tickets away to each game. Thankfully, with the new direct flights out of LAX I’ll be doing a lot of weekend trips next year!!

  4. Theres a lot of kid Canada's in the CFL...ones born..bred..and played all their football in canada...so why dont they get that moniker? It's a bit stupid if u ask me and a slap in the face of every other Canadian star at his position..

  5. I'm gonna disagree with the came out flat in last year's WF. They had a great opening drive, then demski made a weird play on the ball handing it to the defense. Made a turn over happen, then wolly lost it after a fight on the Goaline. If not for 2 brain facts it's 14-0 very early.

  6. From 3DownNation. The fact these idiots are asking a guy like Richie Hall these types of questions is vomit inducing. Blue Bombers’ defensive coordinator Richie Hall is impressed with what Rourke has been able to accomplish in his young CFL career. When asked to compare the phenom against some of the best quarterbacks he’s seen during his long tenure in the CFL including Warren Moon, Dieter Brock, and Doug Flutie, the veteran coach felt it was too early to make any assertions. “I think he’s off to a good start. It’s funny, would you guys have said this a year ago? All you can deal with is what the present is and I think when you start evaluating people’s careers, you evaluate them from the start and how it evolves to the finish, not during the course of it happening. He’s off to a great start, he’s had a great year. He’s phenomenal, but this is his second year,” said Hall. “When you talk about the other guys that you had mentioned, you talked about them over a span of time. Was Warren Moon the same at the end (of his career) as he was at the beginning? No, because he backed up Tom Wilkinson. So, like I said, he’s off to a great start. He’s a good quarterback, seems like a nice kid. He’s tough. He’s had a lot of success, but I think it’s unfair to the guys that you had mentioned and it’s also unfair to him to start comparing him in such a short period of time.”

  7. I know people stand in the North endzone - I’ve had season tickets the entire existence of the building. Not at all what I’m talking about. Tickets show one day, not the next, then back a week later. That isn’t a TM hold back. Thanks for breaking down that the best sight lines are in middle of the field- breaking news. Your post actually makes me more mad than their shitty website.

  8. B.C. has three 1000+ yard receivers PLUS Burnham and Cottoy. Butler had 200ish more total yards than Brady and more than double the TD's. My glasses are very much blue but B.C. has some very good players.

    Covid-19

We need more of this, not only for issues related to Covid but for how people confuse Freedom of Speech is meant as freedom to lie without consequences. From the Canadian Press: Alberta Court of Appeal dismisses unvaccinated woman's case for organ donation. She can refuse the vaccine, the ruling says, but there are consequences that flow from that decision. So to my point, exchange the sentences above to read, he can lie all he wants, i.e., freedom to say whatever you want, but there are consequences that flow from that decision.

  11. McCrae will likely have less reps though. If we have all the receivers back he’ll only be returning kickoffs which we won’t have much of. I’d rather have the full DL rotation for a game where pass rush could likely be a deciding factor.

  13. Who else thinks the wild card in all this discussion is Ellingson?-Not much being said about him, but he's back, healthy, big and physical, has a connection with Collaros, and was leading the league before being injured.

  14. I would give only the K/P to BC just due to experience....and be a wash for returner....WPG is hands down better across the board

  15. interesting to say the least, and kinda funny considering all the flack and complaining that occurred about our apparent weak secondary...quietly and efficiently just get the job done with no flash and boasting...much like the team as a whole has done week to week for past several years the Lions have scored 33 of their 58 regular season touchdowns through the air. On the opposing sideline, the Bombers defence has allowed a league-low 19 passing touchdowns this season. Additionally, Winnipeg allowed the second-fewest yards per attempt (7.8), tied BC for the fewest passing yards allowed per game (253.6) and have held opposing quarterbacks to a league-low 65 per cent completion percentage.

  16. wonder if 3Down nation and other media grasped what Hall was politely saying...that yeah he came out of gate great, but at this point hasnt proved anything and being in yr 2....lets just see if he can sustain this....or just become another footnote in the flash in the pan history of QB's....a sentiment many here have been saying....

  17. The Bombers will step up their game this week... its going to be awesome to watch. I think they learned from last year... they came out flat and Rust vs the riders and kinda got pushed around by ticats in the GC... but I feel they have learned from that experience and we will not see that flat rusted outing.

  18. I don't see BC doing well in minus 5 to 10. Ffs they were all bundled up like babies when it was plus 10

  20. we had 3 receivers in top 5 in TD's...so they find the endzone...that with one receiver missing 4 games, and our (at the time) top receiver who was leading league missing most of the year...we also had the top receiver yardage wise with far fewer receptions, and we dont rely on the chuck and duck, and or 50/50 attempt...I will take ours hands down. Butler got 59 more yards on more carries, even with BO's lousy start....I'd take our run game too...behind the best oline, and we don't lean on dumping a pass to a RB so not concerned with Butlers extra receiving yard total...we will see in the cold weather which back is more effective Dont get me wrong BC has some good players....but across the boards we far superior, and we been there done that....which is the biggest factor

  22. You guys all sound like crotchety old men and/or spoiled kids. I have zero idea what the problem is. Rourke is the new shiny thing, it's awesome to have more talent in the league. We have the best team in the league - we're in the middle of the best of times. My only problem with the Kid Canada moniker is the total lack of originality - he got jobbed out of a cool nickname because he's Canadian.

  25. BC was warning fans about it being cold in a dome. Absolutely the weather in Winnipeg is a factor. Even if its only -5, feels like -9 that gets cold when you're outside for a few hours.

  26. Imo Lapo’s issue isn’t knowledge about the game, it’s his inability to use other perspectives that don’t align almost perfectly with his. Stubbornness seems to do him in everytime. That’s why he’s so good in the broadcast booth when you see him react to another perspective that runs counter or differently than his.

  29. I picked up a Swaggerville T-shirt when I was in Vancouver for the 2011 Grey Cup, but it was only because it had the "RH" initials on the back. I just couldn't say no when I saw that. Had to buy it.

  30. that shirt is soley for the players on the team....you cant get one And I agree about the previous swaggerville..was fun and all...but yup was an aberration in the fact there was more me me me there and personal accolades...these guys could give a crap...unless it's a teammate of theirs getting something....That TD they got for Miller is a perfect example...that came from within the players ranks of getting him that....thats a team thru and thru

  38. As Booch and others have said, I think our DBs especially Alexander really lay the wood to BC. Also I feel this is the kind of game where Jefferson gets a few sacks and makes the QB miserable.
    3 points
  39. agreeing with Booch (as per usual) that only at Kicker do the Leos MAYBE have an edge....and that's only because of experience. Liegghio has been very good this year.

  40. It Would be fun to see a grinding, ground attack by bombers, with the O line and Brady, but they dont do that.... balanced. maybe later, to finish off the game. I am looking forward to the often seen, calm cool collected Collaros, first possession , unstoppable touchdown drive.

  41. DL: BC Makes me laugh. Both our lines will mollywhop their lines. Post that up in the DL room. There is literally not one player on either line I’d want here. BC’s secondary is also super overrated. We tore them apart this year.

  45. to get back to the game talk.... I agree with folks here that there is no way on paper that BC competes with us. Their prize QB didn't play well against us when he was smashing the rest of the league. Their OL is leaky at best and kid Canada is scrambling about 80% as well as he did in the early going and his throws seem to have about 5-10% less mustard on them. And their RB with his legit unreal burst has a gimpy leg. Butler is a guy who could really hurt us, given how we've been gashed by guys like him. Sure give em credit, the Lions made some plays in the WSF and Rourke made some throws and had a tidy and productive game, and those BC receivers are freaking pitbulls when the catch is contested. but they also got hella lucky in that game because the opposing coach was Dave "Shoot Myself In The" Dickenson. so yeah in conclusion I am feeling super relaxed about the WF. This means we are ******* doomed. I'm sorry, my bad.

  46. seems with this group...especially last 2 yrs they could give a crap....they see it....but this is a team that lets it's result on field do it's talking, for that day and move on I am sure everyone has noticed as a whole...they never talk about any accomplishment, or themselves personally, always deflect to teamates, and prob noticed as well....99 percent of time they aren't even aware of certain feats they achieved, or record/stats they eclipsed, as they are locked in on that 1-0 week....it's been a total buy in here....and is fostered by vets, and presented to the new guys, and the FIFO weeds out the schmucks....I personally have never seen anything like it....u hear organizations talk that talk....portray it , or try to elsewhere but it has really morphed into something here...It's as legit as legit can be and not lip service

Hemingway meant this to be his personal opposition to war after seeing the senseless slaughter in WW1 and was pilloried by many for it, but the book and movie still stand the test of time very well.
