The Riders are the only team dumb enough to stitch their stupid logo into the turf. Now we are just (fittingly) painting over top of it with our iconic W. They should just leave it that way- we own that place.

  7. Its the bombers play of my life time for me. We've had lots of great ones, but that was a total franchise changer. I wasn't a fan of getting collaros when I first heard about it. His interviews in regina at the start of that year, and the injuries, Man I thought he was done. Like, done done. When the play happened I was west side, upper deck mid field ish with my then gf now wife. She became a fan the previous year and really took to the blue fast. When the play happened a bunch of people around me started high fiving each other and us, and the person sitting behind me (all total strangers to me.) gave me a huge hug from behind. I was in shock. My brain just starting to comprehend that we may have just completed the puzzle after soo long. We had the incredible defense that had battled injuries and changes. The whole offense, wrs, harris the OL. Now we had the dynamic td out of nothing QB. Khari and glenn did great things here. Each of them had great careers. Both of them brought us to grey cups as the best team in the league, both mop caliber performances. Out side of that year glenn never felt like the best qb in the league and kharis flame burned soo bright but for such a short time. Both times we had that spark at qb the rest just didn't line up. In that moment it felt like every thing clicked and at just the right time. I thought the 19 bombers team was only under dogs due to injuries and excessive adversity. But that adversity forged the team we have now. Every phase played like they had to carry the team to a win single handedly. And going into the 19 play offs we suddenly had a defense and 99% of an offense ready and capable of carrying the team, and a QB who could carry us. Plus, a back up qb who in 10 ish snaps a game could completely change the complexion of the game. As a franchise and dynasty, that was our tom brady moment.

  14. I mean, you can say that you liked the Collaros pass to Adams and that it's your favourite and it changed the trajectory of the team. Yada yada..... But the best pure football play you may ever see is that interception to end last year's game. I mean, the insanity of Rose catching and then passing that tipped ball with his "wrong" (non dominant) hand, to Kyrie Wilson, who knew enough to fall down and end it.... You'll never see a better football play.

  20. Never in my lifetime (and I'd suppose pretty much all of yours) have we had this matchup in the Grey Cup. And if you, dear Bomberfan, could go back through your memory of all of your past teams and coaches and then select just one of them to be taking the field this Sunday for All The Marbles, I can't think that many of you would pick any other Bomber squad or Coach that you've ever personally witnessed above this one which you have. Conversely, we the Argo Faithful, would be stretching the truth if we were to say the same. Indeed, most of us wouldn't have this year's incarnation of the Boatmen in our top 10. Speaking for myself, I confess great sporting admiration for your current team, its coaches and its accomplishments. Having myself been spoiled by epic teams in the past, I remember well the great feeling it brings to have your spirits buoyed by witnessing a well-oiled machine, firing on all cylinders and sweeping all before them. It is a daunting prospect for any club to come up against such an animal - apologies for mixing metaphors - but as you well know, there's a reason why you don't just declare a winner before the ball gets kicked. Any Given Sunday. This time honored maxim is a cliche for a very good reason: the team that is supposed to win, doesn't always win. Game of inches and such. I go into this matchup once again prepared for the emotional wound which losing The Big Dance can bring... But then, I have made this preparation for each of the last 3 of these games we were in and the outcome wasn't what it ought to have been. We were solid underdogs in all of them. We should have lost each of them. But we once again had our glorious name etched of the Cup because for each of these games we had a gameplan that worked, made fewer (or no) mistakes, and we had that one intangible that others will scoff at, but we, the True Double Blue know from the bottom of our hearts is real: The Argo Bounce. It's a helluva thing, but time and again, year after year, decade after decade, The Argo Bounce has come from out of nowhere and given us Victory and Glory that just frankly and earnestly speaking should never have happened. Fumbles, Tips, Deflections, Slips, Bonehead Errors and yes, Bounces. They should not keep happening, and the younger Bomber supporters with less appreciation for the Storied History of a rival team may deride this as a bullshit thing that isn't real and that random acts of bounce happen for and against every team. Well, yes they do. But the grizzled veterans amongst you look back over the years and in some recessed corner of your memories do in fact recall a stupid amount of random events granting risibly improbable wins for the Toronto Argonaut Football Club. And you wonder, will The Argo Bounce show up? Can the nigh invincible Bombers be denied by The Football Gods showing their favour once again to the Mighty Scullers? Likely not. This is probably the year where The Law of Averages catches up to us. When Lady Luck looks past us because we have just had it so damn good for so damn long. Maybe the Argos show up and have their best Gameplan, best Effort, make no mistakes and do everything right but still fall short because their opposition was just too much for them to overcome. The Blue Bombers should win this game. I can't fathom that you'd find many Argo fans who, if forced to bet everything they own on this game, would take the Argos to win it. If Winnipeg shows up and plays their best, it probably won't matter if Toronto can show up with their best. Winnipeg wins that matchup nine times out of ten... Or... maybe Any Given Sunday and The Argo Bounce happen. Some of you have known me 20 years or close enough to it. You know that my wish of good luck to you is sincere and it is in the tradition of sporting competition that the better team on the day wins. I witnessed your years in the wilderness and the false dawns that ignited hope in you that never came to be. You are deserving of your time at the top spoke of fortune's wheel because you've known the bottom of it. Sincerely & Fraternally, It's Go Time. I will look for you on the field of honour.

Kind of a great X factor story in this game is the crowd. 17:54 ferguson talks about is saskatchewan the great cfl market they claim, or just self centric rider fans? I've been seeing a huge barnstorm of rider fans selling off their GC tickets. It will be very interesting to see what the crowd and mood is like in the stands of the GC. Sure does. Not surprised at no roster changes. Pretty happy with how that roster looks for the most part too.

  31. Agreed. Top 3 All Time Great Historical Bomber Plays: 1. Last year's Grey Cup. The Tip. Winston Rose tipping the ball to Kyrie Wilson after we had scored in OT to end the game. Incredible ball hawking play to end the game. 2. The 1988 Grey Cup. BC vs Wpg: Bomber DE Mike Gray tipping a Matt Dunigan pass & then intercepting it himself after it went straight up in the air & down again into his willing mitts was an incredible play done all by himself. Who says y'all don't like up downs? 3. The 1961 Grey Cup: Blue Bomber QB Ken Ploen's 18 yard winning scoring run in OT to beat the Lions. Not only was it a great run but how.... how did he beat two Ti cat defenders on the sideline coming at him near the goal line?? What an incredibly athletic play from a guy who was money when he played. Ploen made those 2 defenders miss.

  36. Would be the pro version of Last Chance U. What will **** it up is the media deal with Bell. Ideally you get a show on Netflix because then everyone will see it. There’s a great opportunity to hook in Americans too, following the stories of guys who are American and quite often players at big NCAA schools. But whatever the CFL does it will be buried on TSN and Crave where only existing fans will seek it out.

  37. Man i would love for the CFL to get a TV series like F1. The CFL is so unique with the route players take to get here, to the challenges of playing in a Canadian league, to the actual game itself. I think it would make for some good story telling and would actually garner new fans. It's done wonders for F1. A guy I work with said his son was having an F1 party today at 7 am. He asked if I had seen the show.

  46. My wife is preparing every appy under the sun for Sunday. A couple of her popular items are the jalapeno poppers, bacon wrapped stuffing, and (if you've ever been to Montana's for appies) her version of antejitos....... but there will be a ton of other stuff.... wings, dry ribs, chips and dip, meat/cheese/pickles trays...... it'll be ridiculous, but she loves to make that stuff. We also managed to smuggle an array of Manitoba beer from various breweries in our checked bag last weekend so there will be plenty of that for the game as well....
