  1. I think people dramatically undervalue what Bighill is asked to do on D- and I doubt there is a comparable replacement in this league.

  2. I think biggie would be fine at wil but he can’t be the guy who fills a gap on every running play any more. People think it’s speed he’s losing but it’s quickness and explosiveness. He doesn’t get off the ball quick any more. He can still scrape as close to side line to side line as any one. having no nose made Willy jeffcoat and biggie struggle. People forget how many big runs we gave up while stove was out in 21. Teams gouged us but the rest of the d was just soo damned good. When stove came back it turned the defense up to 11. Drake Nevis coming in was a huge turn around in the first place for our d.

  5. I get that his going to the NFL maybe entices other players to choose the CFL over say the XFL or whatever.... helps the CFL with recruiting........ but enough. I was done with him the moment he called the CFL an unexpected detour. Good riddance and enjoy the clipboard.

  8. I'm absolutely sickened by this Provorov situation and the league's complete inaction. Their response statement issued this morning is horrendous. Sixero's take here is spot on.

It's always bothered me that when we look at fixing our issues with our Healthcare system we only think that it's either the American way or ours. There are many different systems in Europe and the rest of the world. We need to do look beyond the Americans when we look for solutions. As far as the cost of systems I haven't looked since covid hit but generally most of Europe like ourselves are in the 10 to 11.5 percent of our GDP to fund our Healthcare systems. The Americans spend a whopping 17+ percent of their GDP on Healthcare. The cost argument never has held water. And as far as results for having their expensive system , we are 12th to 14 in life expectancy. Americans are around 32nd. It's been awhile since I looked at the numbers and it was precovid so I stand to be corrected. My point boils down to there are more answers to fixing our Healthcare issues than the old private or public argument.

  11. He was slowed down by DL that couldn't stop the inside run like they could in 2021 with Stove. We had a lot of injuries at LB because of it. Upgrade the tackle positions & we'll be alright.

  13. That was inevitable but still sad. But, it's on Walters, et al, to find the next Mauldin now.

  14. I'd honestly put Janarion 2nd on that list. He's been a top 2 or 3 returner since coming into the league. I'm fine moving on from everyone else with the obvious exception of Demski.

  18. You would think, based on all the coverage from the CFL, TSN and their mouthpieces, that Rourke was coming to the CFL. They've spent more time and energy promoting a player leaving the league to be a backup than they have actually promoting the CFL.

  19. the massive OL they signed from WHSFL looks like quite a talent, as well. Only 17 and already an absolute monster...

Finland taxes their churches 1-2.1%, depending on the parish. I say that would be a good start.

  21. My reaction to Tui Eli signing a 3 year deal!

  22. Would not surprise me if he told them he wanted to play closer to home.

  23. Dobson mostly played RT in NCAA. On paper I would say they have Eli at C and Dobson as the 6th guy still with potential to jump in due to injury to anyone. Neufeld probably would kick to C, Dobson to guard if Eli went down. If a tackle goes down, Gray probably out to tackle, Dobson in at guard.

  24. Couture had 1 foot out the door as of today the other foot followed, between Gray, Dobson and Eli we have a nasty road grading line in the making

  25. Surprised he signed. Still think he quit on the team - but if the team doesn’t care then I won’t either. 3 years is great. MC won’t go to the Gap

  26. I LOVE this signing... unfortautely it probably means that Couture is on his way out... but between Tui, Neufeld, Gray, Dobson and Kola... we're still pretty well stacked at Cdn Interior O-line... Walters you SOB, you've done it again!

  29. Not sure anyone is worried about how many tackles bighill has or doesn't have. Was more an eye test that he wasn't making the same plays we have come to expect.

  30. Guaranteed if they privatize segments of our health care system as Conservatives continually push to do, sooner or later money will begin to flow into deep American pockets and we will lose control of the ability to reform the system into anything other than a replica of the American health care model. That extra 5.5% cost in their system you noticed, is the wealthy getting wealthier off the pain and misfortune of others.

  31. Looks like Mauldin is looking around.....Could we afford him and Lawler....now that's a stretch BUT Mauldin would look really nice in bluengold....Could be the piece we're looking for on D

  32. I put Couture lower due to our depth on the OL. Had Grant higher because he is a rare talent on special teams and IMHO harder to replace. At least we named the same 5.

  36. Part of me loves the core coming back and part of me worries we're bringing back to many aging vets and we'll fall off a cliff. Just part of being a fan I think. Now a proper NT ala Stove or Nevis and at least one DE who could rotate with the Jeffs by taking say 25-30 snaps would be huge imo.

Toronto got swept by Arizona. I don't really look at it that way. Parity is a thing, if you don't show up.. you will lose. That happened last night but that's now a handful of times in the past 5 or 6 now where we haven't looked like we did 2 weeks ago 26 27 88 come back and the team looks not as good. Strange. 3rd practice today in 6 weeks too.

  42. I think so too. I was speculating today with a friend that Couture might be on the way out due to salary. Now with this it seems like a no brainer that they aren't going to try and bid against BC again. Let him go. We are retaining a lot of talent and I would like to think that we will free up some money somewhere to make a big splash at receiver this offseason. We used to sign murderers to play Center.

  44. This might be the reasoning. "Head coach Brian Dobie credited defensive line coach Shaq Armstrong, who is Goods’ cousin, for helping recruit him to the Bisons." https://3downnation.com/2023/01/17/lamar-goods-highly-touted-son-of-former-cfl-all-star-bennie-goods-transfers-to-manitoba-bisons/ Article claims he's a native of Fort McMurray and played for Team Canada’s U-18 national team in 2018 at the age of 16, so he's a Natl.

    Wrestling

That's the general consensus from what I've seen on social media... despite their reputations from when they were younger, Jay & Mark were/are good people and even better family men. Jay was driving his two daughters back from a cheerleading competition when they got in to this accident. Both girls suffered serious injuries and one is potentially paralyzed so it's a pretty devastating situation for their family.
