Talk on twitter of Dane going to Ottawa to run the same 1a 1b system with Masoli that they had in Ham. Would love to see that if for no other reason than Sask having to trot out Faj and Fine again in '23. That team is going to be SO bad and there's absolutely no way to fix it in time for this coming season....5 points -

This move by the PC gov't is just pandering to their fervent base. Both lack any ability to see beyond the short-term. You don't improve your financial situation by lowering tax revenue and handing out cheques. This is a short-sighted and feeble attempt to distract us from issues plaguing the province.4 points -
In addition to expressing outrage at the way Shared Health and WRHA spend there money there are things we can personally do to help. If I can suggest a great organization supporting the victims or sexual assault, especially during childhood, please support Heartwood Healing Centre. https://heartwoodcentre.ca/support-our-mission/4 points

The PC Government mandated hydro layoffs (and were later found violating the collective agreement) and dissolved Manitoba Hydro International - a subsidiary that was profitable so I wouldn't put the blame entirely on the NDP. Based on Hydro's reduced rate hike, I also don't think the situation is as bad as the Cons say. The Wall report was a travesty.2 points

The saddest thing to me is that none of the opposition have an alternate plan that is reasonably palatable. Wab out proclaiming that they should meddle with Hydro or MPI to ensure lower monthly payments is not the right answer either. Hydro is in the mess it is from all the interference by previous NDP governments. It seems so simple to me, but no political party seems to talk about it (so I must be wrong?). Wouldn't the easiest most efficient way to affect this change be to raise the Provincial Personal Exemption? Allow us to keep more of our own money that we earn, instead of taking it and then trying to find ways to give it back?2 points -

Trump 2020 Attorney John Eastman Faces Disbarment in California California State bar regulators filed disciplinary actions against conservative lawyer John Eastman due to his efforts in trying to overturn the 2020 election for Donald Trump. The state seeks to disbar Eastman, who once clerked for Justice Clarence Thomas. “The Office of Chief Trial Counsel (OCTC) intends to seek Eastman’s disbarment before the State Bar Court,” the state bar of California wrote in a news release about the filing. The filing contains 11 charges arising from allegations that “Eastman engaged in a course of conduct to plan, promote, and assist then-President Trump in executing a strategy, unsupported by facts or law, to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election by obstructing the count of electoral votes of certain states.” They specifically cited Eastman’s “false and misleading statements regarding purported election fraud, including statements on January 6, 2020, at a rally in Washington, D.C., that contributed to provoking a crowd to assault and breach the Capitol to intimidate then-Vice President Pence and prevent the electoral count from proceeding.” They add, “Eastman now faces multiple charges that he violated Business and Professions Code section 6106 by making false and misleading statements that constitute acts of ‘moral turpitude, dishonesty, and corruption.’” “There is nothing more sacrosanct to our American democracy than free and fair elections and the peaceful transfer of power,” the State Bar of California’s Chief Trial Counsel George Cardona said. “For California attorneys, adherence to the U.S. and California Constitutions is their highest legal duty. The Notice of Disciplinary Charges alleges that Mr. Eastman violated this duty in furtherance of an attempt to usurp the will of the American people and overturn election results for the highest office in the land—an egregious and unprecedented attack on our democracy—for which he must be held accountable.” https://www.politicususa.com/2023/01/26/trump-2020-attorney-john-eastman-faces-disbarment-in-california.html2 points -

So what happens, and you can thank social media for this, is when I am spreading misinformation, lies (whether on purpose or I genuinely believe in these lies) and I'm countered with facts, all I do then is seed doubt with these facts being thrown at me by playing the victim, I'm the bearer of truths and these people who are countering with their facts are lying and spreading misinformation to counter the original lies I used. Mission accomplished to seed confusion, doubt everywhere and create a both sides argument when in fact there is only one side, the side of fact, i.e., science doesn't care about your 'opinions'.2 points -

Trump made 'secret' $1M donation to failed Arizona election 'grift disguised as an audit': report Former President Donald Trump made a “secret” $1 million donation to the election audit conducted in Arizona following his false claims that the election was stolen from him, the Guardian reports. The audit was requested by Arizona GOP senators, and doubted by many of their colleagues due to the “wild conspiracy theories” it mirrored. An assertion “that bamboo fibers found in ballot sheets proved they had been printed in Asia” even caused some local GOP members to deem the probe a “grift disguised as an audit.” But nevertheless, the audit persisted. Although eventually proven baseless and unsuccessful, The Guardian reports that “one of the largest benefactors” behind this attempt to counter the 2020 election results remained a secret for nearly two years. But watchdog group “Documented” was able to track funding for the failed assessment and eventually landed on Trump’s super PAC, Save America. First, the group discovered that Cyber Ninjas, the Florida company that conducted the audit, was provided $5.7 million by far-right groups, and then given an additional $1 million from former Trump advisor and attorney Cleta Mitchell. Still, questions around the origin of the $1 million remained unanswered. The New York Times reports that in September of 2021, “unnamed ‘officials,’” as well as Arizona GOP senators who requested the election audit, adamantly denied Trump’s contribution. However, with its research on many corporate, tax and campaign finance filings, as well as emails and text messages between Trump allies that were obtained by nonpartisan accountability group American Oversight, "Documented" managed to counter those claims. https://www.alternet.org/trump-secret-donation-arizona-election/1 point

Having played both games recently, I can confirm that it's been pretty bang on to the source material so far. Some minor changes but that's inevitable so no complaints from me. I was skeptical of Bella Ramsey playing Ellie but so far so good. They told both leads not to watch any of the game stuff, so they can make the characters their own. Both admit to checking some stuff out so I'm sure that is one reason why it's been so similar to the game (at least from a character standpoint). There's only two episodes of LOU out so there's not much to get into yet. We watched the 1st episode of the 90's show... really wanted to like it but I don't know if we'll be going back for episode 2. Didn't find it funny aside from Red & Kitty.1 point
