  1. Damn... that is really impressive work by Walters...

  2. Schoen AND Lawler? I'd need a second pair of shorts if that happens.....
    10 points
  3. Totally fair. Walter has spoken about moving on from 1-2 guys each year so you don't have to replace the whole core at once. We're actually pretty good across most position groups!

  4. We really have to get younger in a few spots.

  13. The only way this emojii could be more perfect if it was filled with crap, lit on fire and placed on the rider's doorstep.

  14. Going to be interesting to see what we do at DT. Curious that Sayles hasnt been brought back yet. Wonder if were going after a bigger fish.....

  15. At this point why would anyone make an offer for Dom Davis? I'd rather go with a complete unknown who at least has a chance of performing on the field.

  16. Different positions obviously...but Demski at 190 compared to Lanier at 250 is just insane to me.

  17. not to mention feeing up some money to sign another guy... Mr. Adam Bighill I'd like to see Bailey and Sayles back... but at this point, after getting Darby and Demski done... any other re-signing is just gravy

  18. Just my personal opinion, but I think Schoen would be the biggest "add" to this roster and I have a lot of appreciation for Kenny Lawler's talent. Would also love to see a really solid add at DT.

  19. “It’s a one-year contract for the 2023 season worth $250,000 in hard money. That makes the 29-year-old the highest-paid American defensive player in the CFL. He gets a $100,000 signing bonus to stay in Saskatchewan.” 😅

  20. https://3downnation.com/2023/02/06/saskatchewan-roughriders-make-strong-offer-to-veteran-qb-trevor-harris/ bahahaha....he will be crippled behind that oline by 6 games in...but giver I doubt any of those mentioned there would go there unless severe over pay....and even then if they land 1...or 2....wont fix what ails them...Oday is truly a lousy GM....Prob worst in the league...big lucrative multi yr deal to a 37 yr old QB?...what a tool

  21. It's been pretty much par for the course with this regime...hence the prolonged success and professionalism here, and guys wanting/willing to stay if given fair compensation

  25. Super well-spoken. Would love to see him replace someone (anyone) on the TSN panel.

  26. Schoen like I said....was behind the 8-Ball in a few different areas...which is too bad, and its the meat grinder political world BS that is the NFL....That being said too, he may be one those freak guys who just excel and become all world due to the waggle....it's a real thing and sometimes is just that lil tweak some guys need to go from good...to great...and NFL scouts surely have dissected the 24 man tape and went over every big play and analyzed it

  27. Damit, I miss this class act already.

  28. I like how we're going about our off-season business. A few more days of announcements and then they can drop the news about who is playing QB for us this season.

  29. Davis isn't a dual threat qb though, he's a no threat qb. Doesn't wow with his legs, can't throw accurately with his arm.... He can't continue any gameplan because he has shown he just doesn't have the ability to play qb at this level. yeah except that Collaros was a pretty well known CFL commodity before he got that contract too. Risk with him was always durability not ability. Everyone knew he could play at an MOP level was just a matter of whether he could stay healthy.

  30. Mind boggling the politics in the NFL. Can't believe a team won't even give him a contract/ try out. He lit the league on fire, pro football. Can't even get a sniff. I feel for him

  31. Dom Davis, lol. BC Sucks. So if the Shiltz signing a precursor to Evans being dealt to the riders for 4 first round picks?

  32. Feb 14. From Saturday's Freep: "Let’s start with the receiver position. The Bombers currently have starters Dalton Schoen, assuming he doesn’t sign an NFL deal by Feb. 14, and Canadian Drew Wolitarsky back in the mix. They also have Canadian Brendan O’Leary-Orange, who played well in relief, as well as Carlton Agudosi, who scored a pair of touchdowns against Calgary in his only real action last year before suffering a season-ending injury to his left leg." https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2023/02/03/hey-walters-give-these-guys-a-call

  33. I guess BC is looking at running a offense designed for a dual threat QB and Dom Davis is someone who could continue a gameplan designed for their starter should he get injured.
    3 points
  34. How / Why would someone offer Dom Davis anything? I am not sure if I like or am shocked that not once have I seen Dakota Prukop mentioned. I mean even with the GC brain fart he still gets more done that Dom Davis...

  35. and not 27 yr old receivers...who was already passed on....our gain, and he can forge a nice career up here and make more than decent money doing so...he barring injury has a good solid 5...6 yrs in him here and being a main fixture

  37. Agreeing with Booch, after reviewing the roster the one name I'd like back is Bailey. Most of the others should be able to be replaced rather easily. The one other answer I am looking for is Shoen, does he return and sign longer term or does he have an NFL opportunity to pursue? Without Shoen I would like to see a free agent received (Lawler / Lewis) here but with Shoen I think we can pass on both those guys and save the $$ for other spots. Really hoping the scouts have the big run stopping, pile pushing DT already in their sights down south.

  38. These are the gigantic over pays that were expected. The guy has done zero to deserve that pay. But, that’s what it costs to live and play there.

  39. Agreed that hopefully the scouts can find the next Nevis or Stove.... There HAVE to be some out there.

  40. Micah Johnson wasn’t 15-3, so he deserves nothing from us. I’m not interested at all. Go find a DT

  42. Not a single player on our FA list that I would lose sleep over if we let walk. I think with Briggs it's going to come down to whether he still wants to play. Great job by Kyle Walters
