  1. I want to apologize to every poster I've ever had a run in with on this site. I just made one comment on the bomber fan Facebook page. Note to the die hards. Stay away from that place. It is infuriating . They make our dysfunctional group here look like true reasonable diplomats

  4. Oh, at $240K (the highest for a defensive end) I think you're right that people will expect big sacks and league awards. I think consistently getting QB pressure is a better predictor of sacks than sacks themselves. Sacks are fickle. We credited Orimolade with 10 sacks last season (including playoffs). 8 of those he beat his blocker(s) quickly--'Wins' as we label them. That was 2nd-best in the league. Shawn Lemon had 14 sacks, but we judged only 6 to be Wins. 6 of his were cleaning up someone else's work or Pursuit sacks (ie. QB gets flushed and he chases him a long distance). Wins are the ones I truly care about A huge part of why I would have paid Orimolade he'll be 27 at Grey Cup. The rest of the top-10 in QB pressures average 31 years old this season.

  6. Kyle Walter's presser was a pretty good listen. He talked about how the Nationalized American rule didn't really play into how they are building the roster. He mentioned they are going to bring in QBs to compete for the short yardage job. These are going to be a different group than what would be competing to be Zach's backup. https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/02/14/kyle-walters-february-14-2023/ Dammit wrong thread

  15. No argument about the validity of injuries, I’m just saying they’re both starting to develop a history of missing too many games and/or being too beat up at the end of the year, so if we don’t have a well thought out plan B going into this season, it’s really our own fault.

  16. You mean on average 6'3" 275lbs Flesh mountains that are able to bench press 325lbs and squat 500lbs? I am going with "C", A murder of D-Linemen. No, that is what you call a group of dysfunctional, self-deluded, faux-grandiose, wanna-b-gridiron players donned in green and white... More accurately called a "Sad Sack"

  23. That's reality. A higher priority would be the DT position and some backup linebackers and DL - we are going with some older talent in the front 7

  25. Mike, realistically just who did he have playing in front of Bighill & Wilson stopping the run? We had no pressure from the interior of the DL on opposition qbs nor did we have a true gap run stopper like we did in 2021. Biggie had his pass responsibilities & then had to step up to also stop the run. The guy was gassed & beat up by mid season. We didn't have Steve Richardson to take care of things in 2022. He caused a lot of havoc inside & with Jeffcoat & Jefferson, OLs had real problems blocking all 3. I was hoping we'd address ou r biggest weakness on the team in free agency but we haven't so far. It's no coincidence there was a lot of injuries & sub par play at the linebacker & secondary positions. With no interior pass rush & the ability to stop the run the back end of any defense suffers. Give it a rest. You just suck the life out of this place.

So... when reading posts on these boards- I almost always attribute voices to the poster, due to style and tone... for example- @TBURGESS posts sound like his avatar, Dwight Shrute. @Wideleft is Sam Elliot in... well any movie. After playing Red Dead redemption 2- I found yours, @Booch- Arthur Morgan...

  29. Most teams have their 2 non-SAM linebackers playing essentially interchangeably these days, so I’ll just use that criteria and say I’d rather have McManus, either Williams (Avery or Jordan), Thurman or Judge over Bighill at this point in time. Feels to me like we’re stuck in the same time warp that makes Hamilton fans think Simoni Lawrence is still good. What I’d really like to see is if we can scout a young one to come in and replace either Kyrie or Bighill. If we have to use the same excuses of “they’re just covering up for injuries” this year when we’re going to trot out the same guys who we’ve been having that problem with for two years, we’re really doing it to ourselves at this point.

  40. They are not more injury prone per se but injury severity and time loss absolutely go up. With proper care and conditioning of the body a player in his 30's can remain as healthy as a younger player. However, the contact injuries will keep a guy out longer in his 30's as the same injury to a guy in his 20s and wear and tear can worsen the severity of the non contact injuries. However, I might add that the 32 year old bench mark used to be when it was considered time to find replacements ASAP, and that is no longer the case in pro sports. That goal post has moved to around 35 in the last decade due to advanced nutrition and conditioning programs becoming the norm. Of course, you also have positions where age is less of a factor such as OL, and QB. The most dramatic drop off comes in your speed and stamina at your mid 30s. Strength is still there until your late 30's. This is why you see many OL still playing at a high level 35+.

  41. Honestly, with our starting three, and our commitment to Brady and the run game. I'm not sure there's any point (or cap space) in paying anything but league minimum to the rest of the receiving core.

  42. Injuries are just a freak thing and can happen to anyone in football..Agudosi spent a yr biding his time on PR..wasn't hurt....got hurt in T.C last yr...and then shot the lights out when he got on roster, and was felled by a freak...lucky to not be career ending injury....not like he is this "injury prone" guy people seem to think Demski has never played a full yr for us, and that doesn't seem to be an issue...so really I see that as no bearing whatsoever....you play your best guys available, until they get hurt...or someone better steps up and takes a job away.... A body type, and a pure catcher like Agudosi....if u have a way to get hi on the field you do...until he shows he doesnt belong....He has shown enough in 2 yrs worth of practice, and 2 games to warrant that opportunity in the eyes of the coaches. when he first arrived here I talked with Buddy Morris who I have connections with about him (Cardinal S/C coach) said the dude is a beast...a workout machine and is a 110%er....Just like Bailey....said we found a right gem....Didnt stick down there mainly due to numbers and dead money paid to others which couldnt warrent their releases....

Simply having a side thought on something doesn’t automatically make it legitimate and worthy for discussion. It seems absurdness, drivel and lunacy believe they deserve to be at the adult table just cuz freedom of speech. That’s not how (no matter who you are) intelligent discourse works.
