  1. This is stupid. The ball was in the air for a total of 6 feet. Not a single person, not even Legghio himself, could tell you what the result of that kick would have been. Anyone saying otherwise is 100% biased. Seriously....it was left it was low...you got that from the 3 yards it travelled, no angle for context whatsoever, and no idea what the wind was doing? It may have missed....it may have gone in....but to say that Liegghio was to blame for us not getting 3 points is irrational. The ball was knocked down behind the LOS. If you are going to make an argument against Legs as our K then at least use a play where his kick wasn't blocked as your proof of concept.

  10. As per Craig Dickenson: Last week the Riders added another Canadian receiver to their arsenal with the signing of Juwan Brescacin and Dickenson believes that he was an under the radar type of signing. “Not too many years ago he was thought of maybe the best Canadian receiver on Calgary’s roster. ” Back in 2018, Brescacin had 35 receptions for 567 receiving yards and three touchdowns with Calgary. Another former Stampeder, the Roughriders have high hopes this season is Shawn Bane Jr. Dickenson said they plan to use him in a similar role that was occupied by Kyran Moore in 2022. “An inside receiver position where he can get balls on handoffs, he can run vertical routes and clear the tops. ” The biggest free agent signing for the Roughriders at wide receiver was Jake Wieneke. Even though he is a newcomer to the green and white, Dickenson thinks the former Alouette will make a seamless transition to Saskatchewan. Does he not realize 2018...was like 5 yrs ago?....and their is a reason KSB didnt get a sniff, and Lenius barely got his cleats tied before he was set free?...from the article boasting how he likes the thought of his Canadian receivers and the big fish they added...Jake W....that he has amassed a real sad sack group, with very little upside?....my oh my....can't wait to read his O-line musings next

I'm not sure Adler and Broadbeck changed, so much as the Right went really far to the right, and Moderate Con's were left looking like Lefties when it was all said and done...

  15. Kicking unit missed it, as there was a missed block....resulting in a blocked kick...team effort...just as when a kick is made....you have protection....good snap...good placement by holder allowing the kicker to not deviate from his timing/method....was ball cockeyed on tee....were laces wrong way....did holder get it down and set a milli second too slow?....lotsa factors have to be ideal. Almost prefect to make a kick, and slight issues from this 9 times outta ten have bad results.....people take for granted each FG/Convert attempt every game and the precision that goes into it....but when a kick is missed the kicker carries the burden....sure there are times when it is 100% a blatant pooch job by the kicker, but many times it's a combination of, or a particular miscue that throws it all off In the Grey Cup we dont know the result, as one glaring miscue (missed block) made it huge catastrophic error.....The miss vs Montreal on the flip side, to win that game was a bad kick...plain and simple...just as the long range one versus the Riders was a perfect one....it happens If anything and blame finger pointing/bitching about a player should be done it should be right at our QB's feet as that was the reason we lost, and don't hear the pundits crying for a guy to come in and challenge...take his job...That being said any other game save for the Grey Cup or West Final he would never have seen the field, but we went with the horse who brought us there even though he was severely limited in what he could do...but hats off to ZC for gutting it out and doing his best...but that right there was reason we lost...

  16. No has said that though so try again. All anyone is saying is no one knows because the kick was blocked. Feels - legghio sucks, the kick was going to miss anyway. You are still basing your impression of the kick on who kicked it though. You don't know what would happen any more than anyone else, you just know that you don't like the kicker so therefore he must have missed it.

  28. There you go. That was an abomination. Talk about that and you will have made a point. I'm certainly not going to defend Leggs. After a terrific first half of the season he really started to get shaky. However, I think we would be stupid to not bring him back and let him compete for both jobs.

  29. Leggs Reals (Is this a thing now?) : 7th best FG kicker by %, .1 yard better than 8th. 1 FG >= 50 yards, tied with 2 other kickers for 8th. Missed 5 Converts, worst in the league. Game Winning FG's 2, Ott/Skn Game Losing misses 2, Mtl/Tor in the freakin GC. Ya Buts: We didn't need him to win most games. He punted well. He's not the only reason we lost.

I could not care less about their record vs the East, with the exception of missing the points. By the time a team gets to the final, regular season record versus the other conference won't mean anything.

  39. He was in the grey cup. If he stayed in the game we’d a won the gc lol. So the week 1 xfl 3.0 tv attendance was even worse than the in game attendance. Dropped over 50% from week 1 of xfl 2.0. The two espn games pulled 900k and 750k. Pretty dismal.

  40. How do we know that? Starting a kick left and having it come back right is not unheard of, sometimes it's even intentional. Low? Sure but too low to get through? Again we can't say. Legghio said he hit the ball good and it would have been good. He is the only one which half a clue. We all don't know **** about what would have happened. Remember the talk about feels vs. Reals?

Special counsel Jack Smith subpoenaed Donald Trump’s daughter and son-in-law to testify before a federal grand jury about Trump’s attempt to remain president after losing the 2020 election and his role in inciting an insurrection at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. The subpoena was first reported by The New York Times and confirmed by ABC News.

  44. I'm kind of trying to figure out what point you're trying to make here... literally not one single person has said Leigghio is perfect and no improvement is required... yet that's the premise you are arguing on... I think we're almost all in agreement that we need to see improvement from him next season and most of us would like to see competition in camp.

  45. Year's ago, I'd never say "This Tom Brodbeck column is a must read", but he has seemed to have gained his senses now that he's out of the Sun bubble. This is a must read (I have highlighted what I feel is the the most important point being made): Too many Canadians don’t understand that freedom has to have limits Tom Brodbeck Posted: 7:00 PM CST Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 Freedom. It was probably the most commonly uttered word during the COVID-19 pandemic: freedom to ignore public-health orders, freedom to abstain from vaccine mandates, freedom to visit dying loved-ones in nursing homes, freedom to protest government interventions. Anger over how those freedoms were curtailed during the pandemic boiled over in 2022, resulting in dozens of large-scale protests across the country, including a three-week occupation of downtown Ottawa. For many, freedom was on trial. It’s no surprise, then, that Justice Paul Rouleau — in his voluminous report released last week on the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act — devoted an entire chapter to the subject of freedom. It should be required reading in every school across the country. “Tensions between order and freedom sit at the heart of our system of governance,” Rouleau wrote in his near-2,000-page report. His chapter on the relationship between freedom and order is a master class on how individual liberties work in a free and democratic society. “Freedom cannot exist without order, because the machinery of order — such as procedures, laws, police, and courts — create the conditions for the protection of freedom, the enjoyment of freedom, and the mediation of conflicting freedoms,” Rouleau wrote. “While order constrains freedom — laws, for example, limit the range of permissible actions — without order’s constraints, freedom cannot exist.” The relationship between order and freedom is not always well understood, especially among those who believe freedom is an unfettered right. Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre exploits that ignorance, pledging to eliminate all “gatekeepers” to create the “freest country in the world.” His insinuation is that freedom can exist in a vacuum. It can’t. Freedom needs order to exist. It’s a prerequisite to a properly functioning democracy. It’s not unique to emergency measures, such as those used during natural disasters or public-health emergencies. It’s a tradeoff that exists in everyday life — most people just don’t give it much thought. “The fundamental and inevitable tension between order and freedom is a constant; it is simply more visible, and more stark in a time of emergency,” wrote Rouleau. “In times of emergency, however, freedoms that are usually unconstrained may suddenly be curtailed. This puts a spotlight on the clash of values.” That’s when self-professed freedom fighters jump into action, believing — wrongly — that government is trampling on their constitutional rights. That’s not to say people don’t have a right to protest measures employed by governments during emergencies. Quite the contrary, Rouleau points out. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees freedom of assembly, freedom of association and freedom of expression, even if that means disruption to society. Sometimes disruption is necessary to effect change, especially when it comes to marginalized segments of society, Rouleau wrote. The right to protest is a cornerstone of our democracy. But it’s also subject to reasonable limits as prescribed by law. When the exercise of those rights causes undue harm to society — including putting the safety and health of society at risk, as it did during the Ottawa occupation — order trumps freedom. If it didn’t, the broader freedoms enjoyed by all Canadians would be in jeopardy. “When the use of emergency powers becomes necessary, this is generally because the order necessary to freedom is under a special threat,” wrote Rouleau. “The threshold for invocation is the point at which order breaks down and freedom cannot be secured or is seriously threatened.” That’s a concept some Canadians have trouble understanding. They have been misled into believing freedom has no limits. Part of the reason for that misconception is we don’t do a good job of teaching those principles of democracy in school as part of a broader social studies curriculum. Many Canadians don’t have a good grasp of how our parliamentary democracy works, including the division of powers between the federal and provincial governments and the application of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. That was evident during many of the protests throughout the pandemic. Rouleau’s report was a stark reminder of that. tom.brodbeck@freepress.mb.ca
