Just wanted to get other people's opinions on these beauts https://3downnation.com/2023/03/08/cfl-fan-uses-artificial-intelligence-to-create-art-depicting-all-nine-teams/ Ugh... so boring, you'd think that Ai would come up with something cool for the BC lions. I guess I was wrong. Stamps? And people are worried about AI ushering the end of Mankind... maybe through LAMENESS!. So disappointed in AI... almost as much as I am in this lame pic... is that a giant dust bunny or a tribble kicked up under the horse? Next up, Ti-cats Oh hey Ai, I got a pic of my own: Ok, Alouettes- let's take it up a notch on the coolness! Uhg... fail. Ok, Elks- whatcha got? Ok... neat- I am good with the Kryptonian Large Quadra-ped look... Green sparks for the win! Oh boy- amorphous-faced, green-clad in a Confederate motif... that is eerily, too on the nose... Next up the Blue Bombers... Where The **** did this come from? I don't understand how we get to poor man's transformer. Anyone help me out on this one? Ok, maybe The ALLCAPS might muster something better: Good grief, looks like Dinwiddie with hair tonic gone crazy- wait... isn't he the head coach of.... Perfect... It is soo manly that it went way past manly and went "straight" to effeminate, the tiny gold nipples are *Chef's Kiss* perfect. Impressive 11 pack though... Anyways- I would love to hear other peoples take on these AI generated pics of CFL teams...5 points -

Businesses are legally required to turn a profit, and it is up to government to assure that they conduct themselves in an ethical manner and pay their fair share of taxes. If you are right-wing minded, the government has no business "meddling" in the workings of the "free market". Private businesses are in business to generate the largest possible profits in the shortest possible time and seek to influence governments to allow that to happen with the fewest restrictions. In an ideal society there is a dynamic balance between the welfare of the citizenry and private enterprise. The problem arise because , obviously, businesses have more money to influence government through direct financial donations and through media of one sort or another, tipping the scales. A good government, be they federal, provincial or civic mediates that balance. Its an imperfect situation but no better one has presented itself.2 points -

Kakistocracy From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A kakistocracy (/kækɪˈstɒkrəsi/, /kækɪsˈtɒ-/) is a government run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens.[1]: 54 [2][3] The word was coined as early as the seventeenth century.[4] Peter Bowler has noted in his book that there is no word for the government run by the best citizens,[a] and that the aristarchy may be the right term, but still, it could conceivably be a kakistocracy disguised as an aristocracy.[a] Etymology[edit] The word is derived from two Greek words, kakistos (κάκιστος; worst) and kratos (κράτος; rule), with a literal meaning of government by the worst people.[5] History[edit] The earliest use of the word dates to the 17th century, in Paul Gosnold's A sermon Preached at the Publique Fast the ninth day of Aug. 1644 at St. Maries:[4] English author Thomas Love Peacock later used the term in his 1829 novel The Misfortunes of Elphin, in which he explains kakistocracy represents the opposite of aristocracy, as aristos (ἄριστος) means "excellent" in Greek.[7] In his 1838 Memoir on Slavery (which he supported), U.S. Senator William Harper compared kakistocracy to anarchy, and said it had seldom occurred:[8] American poet James Russell Lowell used the term in 1876, in a letter to Joel Benton, writing, "What fills me with doubt and dismay is the degradation of the moral tone. Is it or is it not a result of Democracy? Is ours a 'government of the people by the people for the people,' or a Kakistocracy rather, for the benefit of knaves at the cost of fools?"[9]1 point

It will be worse Jets probably deserved to win this one and the other night against SJ so add 3 points and keep Minny at 81 and we are 2 points behind them. Thems the bounces tho now. Go on a win streak and we fighting for 1st again. It's so close But this team is like bottom 3 I heard since the new year so... who knows1 point -

Soooo....profits are at an all time high but margins remain the same because of external inflation. By this logic, despite disposable income plummeting sales are way up. Congratulations grocers you guys have figured out something free enterprise has been unable to do since it's creation. Something does not add up.... The Lion should be a mountain lion. The Stampeder horse has 3 legs. The Alouette looks to have a jetpack... ok, maybe that'd be cool. Does that Elk have fangs? The rough rider's uniform looks anything but rough. And look at the horse's back legs planted while the front are floating... just looks off. Is that Nick Offerman's younger, butchier brother dressed as a lumberjack? And the Argo one... uh... ok, Poseidon has like, a lot of abs. But the Bomberbot is a clear homage to someone's favorite Nintendo game:1 point

Don’t really agree that the Jets lack toughness. Do we have the old school cement heads? No. Do we have a bonafide fighter? No. But we have some guys that can play a tough, gritty style of game. Lowry and Dillon were mentioned, but there’s also Stanley and Dubois…. And Nino is a willing hitter. The Jets have problems, but I wouldn’t put toughness near the top of the list.1 point -

Just to stir it up a bit knowing I ain't part of the locker room and what the team dynamics are but in addition to toughness maybe a lack of caring one way or the other? Like how bad does this team want it and/or think they are capable of keeping up with the big dogs? And if they do, expect a banner to be hoisted to the rafters.1 point -

2023 CFL Draft Discussion
bb1 reacted to JuranBoldenRules for a topic
This draft will be very interesting. There's about 10 guys that are probably NFL players for how long that last for them. Will be interesting to see how far they drop. Bombers could be a team to take a swing on one of them in the first couple rounds. There's also a lot of depth in the draft, and Canadian depth in general around right now. The draft is pretty heavy on linemen both ways and LB's. Not much for "skill" guys. Not sure if that makes those "skill" guys more of a target early or not. Korte-Moore is a great pass rusher in Canada West. I think he'll be gone before the Bombers pick. He's a guy that probably isn't quite good enough to get the NFL look, but might I suppose depending on his testing. He's an end from UBC, kind of hard to judge him because OL play in CanWest hasn't been great last couple years. Most of the guys who will be CFLers on the line are his teammates. Don't think he'll play anything but end in CFL. Anthony Bennett, Regina by way of FLA and will qualify as a national. Great rush end in Canada West, on lighter side but could be one of those "ratio breakers" and certainly a guy who will be able to be in rotation. Let's just say though he feasted on shitty teams (like the Bisons)...didn't do much vs Sask. Bemiy from Southern Utah might be gone earlier than the Bombers pick too. Probably available right away. Kind of a Sayles type. Would be able to rotate inside and outside. I watched Seguin at UND a lot, he transferred to another FCS school. Another inside-outside guy but I think likely to be a 3-technique guy in CFL. Obiang out of Texas State, where Dobson finished up, is an interesting one. Nose tackle type. Will be interesting to see how he tests at whatever pro day's he does, don't think he's participating in any of the Canadian combines. Sambu out of Maine, again where Dobson played until his last year, played a lot of OLB, stand up end. Likely to be a solid special teamer, probably like a 4th-5th round pick, came from a prep school too that a few of our Manitoban players who ended up down south went through. Bonhomme out of South Alabama via Indiana via the prep school circuit, huge recruit, another guy who played with a bunch of Manitoban kids in prep school. Stand up end type, played all LB spots in States but bet he's a rush end up here. Could be a great value pick mid draft, think he won't get NFL look. Schmekel, another Regina guy, greasy looking guy, big but agile, nose tackle type, dominant career in Canada West basically from day 1. I think he'll kill a lot of guys at the combine 1 v 1. Bison guys: Kornelson...not sure he's a DL in the CFL. Think a team might turn him around to OG. He's got the OL body. Probably run about 5.6 at the combine. Francis...3 technique type in CFL I think, played weak end for Bisons, basketball guy, got BIG later in high school so he has pretty good feet. Could be another turn around candidate to OL. Viner-Cox...tweener 3 technique type, played a bit of both for Bisons. Not sure he has the explosiveness to make the jump.1 point
