The point is when it's policy vs. policy the conservative policies lose. But when you make it a team sport, red (or orange) vs. team blue you get tons of people voting against their best interests because that's their team. I'm not even a big NDP fan... but in a choice between Dumbass Dani Smith and Rachel Notley... well we're all better off with Rachel. Unless you're a rich oil tycoon.5 points -

Agreed. If the Bombers really wanted him back, he'd be signed already. I think that after that "hero throw" interception during the Cup game (which I really don't think was the called play) the team said thanks for your time, feel free to show yourself to the door.3 points -

In a legal response to the defamation lawsuit brought by the computer shop owner, Hunter Biden’s legal team sets the stage for a big case against the GOP. Politico reported: In the 42-page legal filing Friday morning, attorneys for Biden assert six counterclaims, alleging that computer repairman John Paul Mac Isaac had no legal right to obtain and distribute data from Biden’s laptop, an issue that became central in the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election. Images, emails, and text messages that allegedly belonged to Hunter Biden later became public. “The object of invading Mr. Biden’s privacy and disseminating his data was not for any legitimate purpose but to cause harm and embarrassment to Mr. Biden,” the filing reads. Recent polling has shown that the Republican obsession and investigation with Hunter Biden’s laptop is hurting them politically with everyone who isn’t a Republican. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer has basically admitted that the investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop is a sham. Republicans thought that Hunter Biden would sit back and allow himself and his family to be smeared to get Trump back into the White House, but they were wrong. Biden seems to be putting together a counteroffensive, and if the judge rules that the laptop repair shop owner did have the right to copy and share the data, the door will be open for legal action against everyone in Trump world who has been involved in acquiring, manipulating, and disseminating the data. Hunter Biden is not a government official. He is not running for office, nor has he worked for the government. There is no legitimate purpose for Republicans in Congress to be investigating him, just as the only reason why his supposed data was leaked was to hurt his father.1 point -

The comparison between Willy and Evans is because they're both pocket passers who showed ability as a starter but the pressure they faced and hits they took got them off their game.1 point

It depends. If the new guy is equally as good as Prukop in SY, then yea they will stay with the new guy. If not, I can see the Bombers bringing back Dakota. That was the point of my post. The new guy, or guys, need to leave no doubt by the middle of June. I don't think that at all. It was about money. We offered him 3rd string money, and Prukop was looking at ways of making more.1 point

The ALs had a very dominant all NAT OL. They aged out eventually but man they were good for a number of years. Similar to our OL now, but all NAT. They started showing cracks in their last couple years because AC wasn't in his prime anymore, and neither were they, but sure can't take away from what they did for many years before that. Not even remotely close. Evans led his team to back 2 back Grey Cup appearances. I still believe Evans will be a starter in this league again before long....more than likely this year at some point. He got a bad rap last year imo. He put up some pretty decent numbers really except turnovers, and that was more a function of having to push the ball downfield playing from behind. Don't care what kind of QB you are if you are perpetually forced to abandon the run, push down the field because the clock is the enemy, you are going to rack up yardage and turn over the ball at a much higher pace. Jennings just threw 50/50 balls up all over like Fajardo and hoped his receivers would come down with it. Worked for a while until teams took everything underneath away and dared him to put balls down field. Then he was exposed. Evans has every throw in the book. Guys like Fajardo and Jennings were one trick ponies.1 point

and you think we'll just pick him up at that point? The Bombers will have their QB stable set coming out of camp and that's who they'll roll with. Prukop isn't Streveler...they're not gonna just make room for the guy.1 point

Short term Evans would be far better in a backup role for us at that price point, however, chances are Evans only plays for that price for one year. His experience and any kind of positive play this year will have some team looking at him with either bigger bucks or maybe even a starting role. If he played for us, guaranteed he would play well with our weapons and OL. He would be a hot commodity come next offseason and we would effectively have lost Brown for one year of Evans. That being said, I still might have made that trade if it was there. Very tempting. I think Evans could do well with our OL and receivers if we needed him.1 point -
I've been employed in health (not front line) since long before health transformation began, but I did not realize that there was no increase in ER beds at the three remaining hospitals after the other three were closed. There are actually fewer. Unbelievable. "HSC had 777 hospital beds in 2016-17, the year before consolidation. That fell to 762 during the first year of the hospital mergers. It increased slightly to 780 in 2021-22, according to Shared Health data. Capacity at HSC has remained largely unchanged, even though the facility is seeing more acutely ill patients. In 2015-16, HSC had an average bed occupancy rate of 88.5 per cent. That jumped to 94.8 per cent in 2021-22. It now has less capacity to absorb spikes in patient volume. St. Boniface had 493 staffed hospital beds in 2016-17. That number fell to 464 beds in 2021-22. Grace saw its bed count decline from 235 in 2016-17 to 227 in 2021-22. Patients are also piling up in those ERs. Meanwhile, government continues to peddle the falsehood that almost 40 per cent of people who show up at ERs and urgent-care centres could have received treatment elsewhere, suggesting it’s causing ER overcrowding. The 40 per cent figure is the portion of patients triaged as Level 4 or 5 patients, the least ill patients on the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale. That doesn’t mean everyone triaged as a Level 4 or 5 could be treated at a doctor’s office or a walk-in clinic. Some have complex medical issues that may require a hospital stay. Government is spreading erroneous information to divert attention away from the poor management of its hospital-consolidation rollout. Manitoba’s 2017 Wait Times Reduction Task Force, commissioned by the Tory government, confirmed that Level 4 and 5 patents are not the main cause of ER overcrowding. “CTAS 4 and 5 level patients have been identified by media, politicians, many ED staff, and fellow ED patients as the ‘black sheep’ of emergency care,” the report says. “There is an enduring, persistent belief that they are the fundamental problem in (emergency department overcrowding). If they can be dealt with elsewhere, all will be well. That is a myth.” The report, written by experts in the field, found the main cause of ER overcrowding is the growing length of time patients are spending in emergency departments — often on gurneys in hallways — waiting for a bed on a medical ward. That leads to poor outcomes. “There is clear evidence that prolonged ED stays contribute to increased illness (morbidity) and death (mortality), as well as prolonged hospital stays as an admitted in-patient,” the report found. That may not be something government officials are willing to acknowledge publicly. But it is in their own report." You don't think both political parties influence the way things go? The problem is the Conservatives yell louder than the NDP. Everything is No. We need a new hospital. No. We need to spend on education. No. We need to spend on infrastructure. No. We need more Police. No. We need a new arena. No No. No. Whenever Conservative politicians say no it makes headlines. That was Jeremy Farkas (Calgary 2021 UCP Mayoral candidate ) modus operandi for 4 years. Make headlines by saying no to everything & cut property taxes even if it meant drastic cuts in services. Fight with Nenshi constantly. The UCP mayoral candidate hated everything & everyone who was against him. He lost. I get the felling he now realizes he was played as a sucker by the Powers That Be in the UCP & by losing he had no political friends anymore. They dropped him like a hot potato.1 point
