  2. So my wife knows one of the Bomber team doctors from her professional work with him. We ran into him last night at the hockey game, and in the course of chatting he mentioned that Zach Collaros has still not recovered from his ankle sprain, in fact there has been a regression. Doctors were hoping it would progress on its own, but they are all but certain now that he actually tore some ligaments and it will require a surgical intervention. The club is keeping things hush hush for now because they don’t want to submarine season ticket sales, especially because they are going to throw in an “early bird” Grey Cup multi-season ticket package deal, and they don’t want sales to fall off a cliff. Bottom line, they are likely to announce a surgery in the coming weeks, and he will be out of commission for at least the first two months of the season at best. April fools!

The CBC favours whoever is in power, always have. The board is led by govt cronies. But, they do an amazing job delivering on their mandate. I just wish they were funded properly.

There also exist people who simply want to be told what to do and how to live their lives and don't want the burden of determining their own course in life. Religion appeals to these people because they can be told what to do and they never have to question anything. These people also tend to be fearful of things they don't understand because of the aforementioned lack of thought.

thanks. a real rogue's gallery there. some Religious people, and some big religious organizations seem to be easy targets for criminals and con artists. But why are those fundamentalist religious people (all faiths) so easily manipulated by fear? communists, gays, trans, albinos. coming to get you. Only I can save you. send money.

Trump is being told by his former lawyer Jenna Ellis that he is at war and he should not surrender to the police. Ellis tweeted: Jenna Ellis @JennaEllisEsq Trump should refuse to surrender to New York and use this opportunity to work with DeSantis, who has said Florida will not assist an extradition request. If Trump is REALLY going to fight against weaponization of government on on behalf of America, take DeSantis’s offer and unify the Republican base. This is war. Ellis said that Trump should take DeSantis up on his offer not to assist in any extradition and refuse to surrender to the cops because Republicans are at war and they must unify the party. There is no evidence that DeSantis is trying to help Trump. He could be trying to get his rival for the 2024 Republican nomination locked up in jail because it is difficult to run for president from behind bars. Trump’s indictment has brought to the surface how lawless Republicans have become. Sen. Lindsey Graham advised Trump to go punch cops, and now Ellis is telling Trump to refuse to surrender and provoke a standoff with law enforcement. It is almost as if the people around Trump are trying to get him locked up because it would be good for the MAGA brand.

CBC is not more or less biased than all the others. I like CBC because their articles are more in depth. The Winnipeg Sun, for example, has a right wing bent, but that's not the reason I dislike them. I find the quality of their writing to be very low level.

Yeah my impression of Johnston is that he is held in high regard by everyone in Ottawa which is why he's involved in everything. A guy like that isn't biased and the outrage is just more rage farming by the conservatives since it is literally all they bring to the table.

Judge sends Dominion’s $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News to trial https://thehill.com/homenews/media/3928459-judge-sends-dominions-1-6-billion-lawsuit-against-fox-news-to-trial/ Those e-mails unearthed during the discovery phase are killers. Fox having this go to trial....punitive damages..... are going to cost Fox, big time and Smartmatic is on deck, and they will swing for the fences, as well.

Narrator: he did not show his work. Mostly because there is none to demonstrate CBC having the worst bias in Canadian media. The cognitive dissonance in this thread would be funny if it weren't so rampant. There are around 28M taxpayers in this country (https://www.statista.com/statistics/478908/number-of-taxfilers-in-canada-by-province/). CBC received $1.4B in 2021 from the federal gov't (https://cbc.radio-canada.ca/en/impact-and-accountability/finances/annual-reports/ar-2021-2022/financial-sustainability/year-in-review-our-results-government-funding). I'm no mathemagician but that's about $50 per taxpayer over the course of a fiscal year - less than $1 a week. Whining about CBC's public funding seems pretty misguided when you consider what it provides for Canadians. Never fails with a select few.

Ummmm...disagree strongly. Many religious belief systems (Christian and non) demand unquestioning loyalty and obedience along with blanket acceptance of dogma. This can include choices of attire, employment, who you are allowed to speak to, sexual conduct, and who the designated enemies of "God" are. The fundamentalist belief systems of many churches dovetails nicely with fascism and oligarchy- America is currently a good example of this as is Russia, before and during Putin's regime.

Americans always seem to need an enemy. I have a theory that if you are particularly inward looking, believe you are the best, the greatest, the ultimate nation then when the inevitable problems occur that all nations suffer it can only be blamed on subversives or outsiders trying to destroy you. Those in power know this and use it.

I have never heard anyone summarize all educated people as woke. There are many woke people of little to no education. Just as there are many people who wouldn't consider themselves woke that are highly educated. Saying that woke equals educated is simply not necessarily true. You say it's easy to spot bias. Is it? There are many on here who defend a clearly biased CBC on their accuracy for instance.

That's simply incorrect: https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en/votes/44/1/267?view=part See the above link. More voted against than for Cooper's assclown motion. I mean, read the premise: Many reports? Nope. Is there even one? A vague statement based on hearsay doesn't count - or at least shouldn't. Also: his name David Johnston. And he isn't doing anything privately. He'll be doing it within the framework of the applicable legislation and reporting his findings to the PMO. Just because some braindead CSIS employee broke their oath, violated protocol, and presented nothing doesn't mean anyone else should. It's pretty unsettling how little some actually understand about how our democracy actually operates, while then trying to claim everything is a partisan issue and that a "public inquiry" is necessary based on the conjecture of an unhinged public servant and not so much as a shred of evidence. What exactly does he have to lose? It isn't like he currently holds office, and I doubt he'd even care about anyone who'd **** on his reputation for taking on the responsibilities of rapporteur.

What are you on about? It's not bloody hard to see the difference between biased pieces and impartial reporting. It's all in the language that is used. Critical thinking is a skill that is sadly very under used. There is a reason that the usual suspects call educated people "woke" or other things. It's because no matter what degree you get you are taught how to think critically in order to get that degree. As a result the educated are less likely to support the lunatics and why the ones who see through the bullshit are so disdainful of the people who lap it up.
