I get what you guys are saying about Bailey's ceiling, and I don't necessarily disagree, but I think you're maybe overestimating the depth of some of the teams out there. There's more than a few teams that are shitty enough where Bailey would easily be their #2 guy and pay him accordingly (hell the Riders were going to do just that, and he snubbed them because he's Blue and Gold and **** the Riders)4 points -

For a lot of his career Calvillo had a wicked good OL to go with his fast delivery. The dude was low mileage for someone his age ... compare the amount of punishment he took to what someone like Ricky Ray took. Man Ricky Ray took a licking and kept on ticking. You look at QBs like Khari or Matt Nichols or even Drew Willy who faded so quick after getting beat up and then you look at Ray who was never anything less than effective even behind shitty OLs ... RR15 underrated for toughness...4 points

I think Cole stays as he is, as he is a bit of a different player than Clements, and has been used differently in the defense.....Wilson is effectively replacing Clements who was just keeping his seat warm anyway, but is a nice depth piece to have now in case of injury to any of our starters Hansen for Mauro is a no-brainer, as they are trying to use Mauro as they did Hansen somewhat, but Hansen offers so much more off the edge, and they have used him in the inside as well with varying fronts....Mauro's other roles on defense can easily be absorbed by Cole...who is better at it anyway, and again Mauro makes for nice depth in case of injury. The big question I want to see answered, or addressed is when Haba is ready, which should be for BB....Will we put him back in place of the guy who replaced him on roster...Jackson....because if he isn't swapped back in thats just a shame, and utterly foolish and flat out dumb. If for anything he was a force when he played, and secondly gives the Jeff's the valuable rest, and limit's wearing them down right to a nub come late season and or the injury risk If we could have a solid rotation of Hansen/Haba with the Jeff's and the Walker/Lawson/Thomas trio in the middle we would so much better. Mix that in with Rose and Wilson looking like 2019-2021 versions of themselves, this defence will be mighty tough3 points

re: Bailey.... yes he took less to be here. Said he had a hard time imagining himself playing anywhere else. There was also a quote around that time where he said that playing for the Bombers this year would help increase his value next offseason. He would have a better chance of putting up "money" stats this year that would really help him get paid next year. So he's at least thinking about being a star (or at least having a much higher profile) somewhere else... and I certainly don't blame him. I'd love to have him as a Bomber forever, but if he wants to go get paid elsewhere, that's his right for sure.3 points

Why do I still think that even with this huge salary that the Argos will still sign all their key veterans & have money left over to raid every team's top free agent because we know they'll never be over the cap. One set of rules for them & another for the rest of us. Just business as usual. Now, what will Dru Brown be asking for as a free agent??? And what if Nathan Rourke comes back? What will he want?? Between giving nearly $300,000 to receivers, $150-225,000 to Canadian OL & now $600,000 to quarterbacks how the hell can teams still function with the salary cap at $5.5 million?? Where's the room with the salary cap to retain key veterans??? The way this league is run kis ridiculous, I tell ya.2 points -

Written, produced and acted by First Nations. Way, way deeper than Letterkenny, but often as hilarious. Sterlin Harjo is legit. When I was making “Reservation Dogs,” I knew that people would like it, but I didn’t know it was going to be so popular. The only thing that I can chalk it up to is having the room to fail and not be afraid of failing throughout my career, and there was the frustration of not getting films distributed. Then I had the opportunity to do a show. I looked around and said we had to swing for the fences. It was a combination of that and FX giving us the room to do that and to let me tell it with Indigenous writers. We could tell the story we wanted to tell. We could really go for it and it allow us to make something beautiful. https://variety.com/2021/film/news/reservation-dogs-sterlin-harjo-native-american-heritage-month-1235122541/2 points

this is an absolutely terrifying DL for every opposing OC in the league... frightening. Until Osh actually makes the move of keeping Jackson over Haba, there's just no sense in getting upset about it. Pre-emptive rage is just a waste of time and energy. A top-level hockey tournament in Europe is set to experiment with some new rules for the upcoming season. The Champions Hockey League will implement three changes involving penalties for its 2023-24 season: 1. A team that causes a minor penalty will remain shorthanded even if the opposing team scores a goal. 2. A minor penalty will be served even if a goal is scored while a delayed penalty is pending. 3. If the shorthanded team scores, the minor penalty against will end.2 points -

Bailey is making under 100k....I believe under 90k....but had over 100k offers....and not just over 100k....but he chose here Schoen will need about a min 130k bump for next yr.....to put him over the 200k mark...he's going to be a 3rd yr guy next year and earning top wage....but wont be "the" top wage....as that woukd really throw the receiver market out of whack more than it is....tenure still matters JA salary alone has basically the bulk of his bump covered....and yeah you can say...ya but the we need to replace him...well his spot will likely be filled by a guy already here...Murphy/Kelly who knows even Burtenshaw...it's not like we need to "find" and additional salary on top of everything...his roster spot needs to be filed...not per say his position, and if we continue to use a Mcrae type guy, or a new cheaper import to have as a backup....so be it then...Thats a salary we already are carrying Next yr will be some transition for getting guys experience for the 2025 run, and likely Thomas...Kolo...Miller...Briggs...Lawrence...Darby...likely Neuf...Gauthier...are gone...all vet salaries.....and if Bryant does hang em up, well there is Schoen's salary right there....we always are able to retain who we feel we have to, give whoever needs a bump a bump, and still have some left to look around with, and that won't change2 points -

He's won 9 games...he's been impressive enough imo. But I'm surprised at the timing and price of the contract. The 1st half of the year was the easiest schedule in the CFL by a mile. Imo the Argos should have let the season play out a bit longer...I mean they HAD to re-sign the guy. But I think they may have been able to save a bit on the contract.2 points -

Calvillo was certainly a gun slinger for most of his career. Real late he played more Ricky ray type football. But the prime ALs days and especially before that he was chucking deep taking risks and etc. 99 when he really cemented him self as the ALs qb he was tossing 10.4 yards per pass. Kari was averaging 8 when he took the same step with us. 5.1% passes go for tds in his that span Vs khari with 5.5 Zach with 5.3 Harris with 4.5 and ray with 4.4. Put that in comparison with Danny Mac who had a career 3.9. Also in that 5 year span 99-03 calvillo had a combined 1190 rush yards and 10 tds. (In an era when qb keepers on the goal line was a rarity.) ac had the second biggest career revamp going from a running gun slinging 4 WRs with 1k plus to a possession passing game west coast classic. Damon Allen being the biggest revamp imo1 point
