Bigblue204 and 3 others reacted to Booch for a topic
so much talent in JUCO...a lot of guys would be NCAA Div 1 stars if not for sad circumstances....pushed thru system...criminal issues from environment they came from, but good kids just screwed over Have worked with a ton, and got many of them work-outs with pro teams, and contacts to European teams, if Ambrosie wanted to start an initiative it would be to have a system in place to help some these guys and create a league developmental roster of players, in a hub city where they train, and play controlled games, it would blow your minds the talent that you would attract....guys who want the chance and deserve it, but have no avenue4 points -

Winnipeg is definitely a sports town Bombers goldeyes Jets all sold out same day. Says it all. Throw in the Seabears now.. yup4 points -
2021 and 2022 both helped replenish that...or actually add to it, this yr will as well, and you have to figure 2024 will be a good yr as well, as I assume there will be a season tix uptick for the sole reason of that 2025 renewals will have Grey Cup tix perks, and people won't wanna not be there for a possible Home cup win.....I can't imagine the scene at IG Field if the Bombers are in it, when the scene here for big games is as insane as it is now....And not going over the cap and spending what you have to in order to field the best team to do it I am sure will be a given...You won't see a repeat of how the Riders did it last yr3 points

There were more than a few guys in the 80s and 90s who came direct from JUCOs like Sellers and Juran Bolden. CFL might scouting there more again and encouraging guys out to tryouts if the spring leagues continue.3 points -

yeah....classic case...If not for the CFL he would never been anything And also, you would be surprised how many Canadians, and also Americans with ties to the CFL are working in Europe or recruiting ...Ambrosie for all his deficiencies was kind of ahead of the pack in regards to a lot of the Global aspect of things, and the opportunity and partnership there2 points

I think only one player made the 53-man roster. A punter with the Packers I always thought a junior football league like the CHL would work in the states and have a system in place where they can pay players but also have money put aside for them to go to university after their playing career.2 points

I just want to do my part based on what the professionals are recommending us do to take care of ourselves and each other. We are in a societal health crisis not knowing all the answers, lots of uncertainties, science is trying to figure things out. You're being fooled. Don't be a sheep. 99.9% of people are fine. Only old frail people are dying. There is no crisis. Our freedoms are being taken away. Jobs are being lost. They're shutting things down to control us with experimental drugs. Freedom isn't free buddy. My freedoms and rights don't stop at your fears. They are coercing us to do things that have no basis in fact. We the fringe. What is wrong with you? You're being very mean and shaming. I'm just asking reasonable questions. Wow. So polarizing in you're echo chamber of fellow libtards. So divisive. And here we are.2 points -

JCon reacted to HardCoreBlue for a topic
Excerpt quoting CH taken from the Winnipeg Sun: “If I say anything now, it could change tomorrow,” Hellebuyck said. “It’s the business side of things. I have an open mind. I’m not closing the door on anything. I’m going to look at anywhere that I think can win a Cup, and I know this locker-room can win a Cup. That’s how hard I worked all summer. That’s how hard I’ve worked my whole career. “I’m going to win a Cup, and wherever I can win a Cup is where I want to be.” So sorry to beat this horse to death but with the fervour I see some here in stating that it is not the intention of the Winnipeg Jets this year to win the Stanley Cup, they should indeed then trade CH and MS immediately. Knowing I'm probably being naive but a simple question I would love to pose to GM KC is just a simple yes or no answer with no qualifiers (ie: but, if, ideally, etc) Was it your goal immediately after the Jets were ousted from the 2022/2023 playoff race to put together a locker room for this upcoming 2023/2024 season to realistically win the cup this year? I think that's a fair question with the reasonable expectation of receiving a direct truthful answer.1 point -

Interesting concept, and one which would actually unearth a ton of talent...See it first hand with kids we work with in Cali we try to place, whom can't qualify for NCAA teams for various reasons, and in many instances can't afford, or have the ways and means to get on a JUCO team, or be funneled over to Europe....and It's too bad as there is a ton of talent that won't get a sniff because they only have highschool talent. We will also forward names to Premiere Prospects International ...prob recognize Brandon Collier name who spear heads that avenue in Europe to get guys looks for possible scholarships, there are a ot of guys like Stiggers from the Argos out there with next to no post highschool experience, but can play1 point

Maybe. But, there's a demand for it. Just need to build consistency. There's definitely only room for one, but they have the goal of becoming the feeder league for the NFL. The NFL could use a development league to build a deeper pool and fill in some gaps in area coverage. I don't know how much they're prepared to lose. Time will tell.1 point

I've had 5 but didn't get the 6th in the spring/summer. Gonna get the jab in early November. Going to the US for American Thanksgiving & have to pass through a very overcrowded Seattle airport. It's crazy how small the place is with tens of thousands of people using it as it's the hub for Alaska Airways. Will try to get as much protection as I can.1 point -

I'm concerned that New Era is planning on ditching our regular season home & away jerseys we have now next season since they made the helmet striping change permanent this season. Hoefully, nothing's up. Fans clamoured for years to bring back the old look & colours which they finally did. Message to Wade Miller: Please don't mess with what works. Make it better, if you want. Don't change it.1 point -

That hockey themed jesey with the W we wore at the Banjo Bowl & now other home games as well is not one of my favourites. I like our blue home jerseys a lot. Worst all time. I just remember Jason Vega & Drew Willy looking so unimpressed with them at the unveiling. The team only wore them once & never again. I heard the players refused to wear them again after that single time. No one bought that jersey.1 point -

Yup the majority of well trained, well educated, well experienced, well respected Canadian and International experts and specialists in many different areas of science, medicine, ethics etc etc completely dupe people with the word effective and completely gloss over elephant in the room type questions when testing the effectiveness of efficacy of treatment type substances. But only for Covid type ailments. The biggest issue for you is not the science, it's being mandated to do something that requires a choice on your part. I find it completely ironic that some of the same anti-science, anti-evidence people for years have told people that if they don't like our country than get the hell out but now are saying Canada is becoming a third world anti-freedom dictatorship . Are they going to heed their own advice they provide to others who slog this country for other reasons?1 point -

So many but it would be interesting if Dale Hawerchuk didn’t get cross checked by JM how we would have faired against the mighty Oilers the next round. Maybe we would have won a game at least instead of the series quickly being over in four.1 point
