We lost three games we had no business losing so, unfortunately, every game we play until the end of the year is a "big one". Not saying we have to win out but dropping any of our remaining games doesn't make me feel good about securing a direct trip to the West Final.7 points -

so just looking ahead to playoffs...... they've moved the non-Grey Cup Game playoff games to Saturday this year. West Final would be 3:30 on the Saturday afternoon.... apparently the Jets host Dallas that afternoon at 3pm. If everything works out the way we hope, hopefully they're able to make something work between the leagues there. Though, depending on the weather, I still think the Bombers could sell out even with a Jets game at the same time...4 points

Saturday was weird. We had nothing to play for (and it showed) and the Cats are in a battle for 2nd, saw the Als win their game earlier and should've been desperate to avoid being swept. The Argos went up by two touchdowns early on and it looked like the Cats just quit. Collaros will be facing a talented defence... but it will be a completely undisguised one. The Argos did absolutely nothing fancy and never so much as tried to hide a blitz. I think that giving Zach the ability to read us that well will likely get us beat. Dinwiddie has said that he plans to sit Kelly in two games. I can't figure that this would be one. (Likely in our pair against Ottawa). So if Kelly is playing, that means that our first choice O-Line definitely is. But they've only let him get sacked 12 times this year (and only once in the last 6 games). I think that what we'll do exactly what we always do on offence. But like against Hamilton, it was a very bland version where we didn't do anything that wasn't pretty straightforward. I'd love to win this one since the Argos are now chasing history (in their 150th season)... But in reality the only thing that matters is getting to November 11th with all of our first choice players healthy. Prediction: Bombers win. Javon Leake runs a punt back for a TD. Kelly has a one play scoring drive at some point.4 points

Don't be so serious, it's all in good fun. High level discussions do happen here now and then. For example we've been tossing around how much do the argos and their fan suck? I make the case they royally suck no matter what but others here suggest their GC win last year, the increase in their attendance and their 12-1 record might not fully support my claim. I think we're both right.3 points -

FWIW, I have both of Paul's books in the provided links. They each tell a fascinating story about a bizarre time and place in the lore of a storied team. I don't know if any MBB posters will part with their hard-earned to get them, but they're a great read for any CFL fan.3 points

Time to man up in the next two.....We need to make a serious statement in both games to show that this club still has the nads to get it done....Coming off of a bye week helps AND IF we play with the proper roster we have a good chance of taking the Argo and B.C. tilt.....T.O. has nothing to gain in the standings and that's too bad, where the Lions have almost everything on the line....Should be a couple of solid 'playoff type' action in the B.C. game for sure, and a lot to prove in the Argo game ....especially in front of our hometown fans....Go get em Bombers3 points -

The BC game is the more important game and the must win. I do hope we kick the Argos butt. I am still mad at Dinwiddie for 07.3 points -
This is the biggest game of the year. After a tough loss and a bye, at home in front of a sell out crowd vs the team that dethroned the bombers last year and the no1 team in the league. This will be the biggest indicator game for us. We should come out fast and hard while the Argos have every reason to be soft. We also still have the wf on the line. Lots of keys to success here. We gotta get consistent pressure on Kelly and with 5 or less rushers. We have to make him pay to stand in the pocket and make him uncomfortable. But we can’t sell out blitzes all the time and give him easy first down passes. The key to this is going to be dressing extra imp dl. Toronto loves to run outside/wide zone. The key step stopping their run isn’t as much going to be dl, it’s going to be about kyrie and biggie not getting washed out and filling the off tackle gap getting off blocks etc. Or dbs needs to do a better job of not selling out for picks (especially Houston) and hits (especially ba) or biting on fakes. We also need to get back to the gang tackling that made our secondary formidable. We have to protect Zach, and not get deep ball punch drunk. Gotta take what the D gives us, and pound the rock. Kick cover has sucked this year to put it lightly. We need to get back to our regular cover scheme, and stay lane disciplined.3 points

I haven't followed the Argos closely enough this year -- have they faced any big adversity? Tough injuries, position controversies, that kind of thing? You could say that their weird backloaded schedule is kind of adversity, but they clinched so far in advance that they're going to be able to give all their key players multiple bye weeks leading into the playoffs. I guess the early clinch is a form of adversity -- are they going to stay a high-performance outfit while playing out the string? anyway, I'm so stoked for this week's game; outside of a championship game this is sports drama at its best.2 points

No need to sugar coat this. The kick cover is atrocious. I would also add that Zach needs to stop forcing the damn ball and trust his reads. Ball security is gonna be paramount this game. 1000%. Even if we lose to TO, the BC game will determine first place in the west. The season series is what matters. That being said, Bombers need to play some consistent ball now! To be fair, one of the James Johnson interceptions wasn't really an interception.2 points -

If we had a field goal kicker who didn't pee his pants everytime he had to make an important kick, we'd have won last year's Grey Cup. Sure, the kick was blocked. But as Matt Dunigan said in TSN's 2023 season preview the day before the season opened, the kick was wide to the left anyway had it not been blocked. It came off Marc Liegghio's foot with too low a trajectory & that was why it was blocked. We could have fought all we wanted & won every battle all season in 2022. We could have been the most game ready team in CFL history & it wouldn't have mattered. In the end though, it came down to one thing. Losing a championship because Marc Liegghio couldn't handle the pressure. When he was needed the most, Lieghhio had one job & didn't do it. He never stepped up. He fell down. We all knew that if he was put in that position, Liegghio would choke. I know I felt what happened was inevitable as I screamed obscenities at my television.2 points -

Honestly I'm not sure this is as big a deal as some are making it out to be. The BC game is FAR more important. This game means little other than bragging rights. Anyhow, for this week...2 points -
They rested Ouellette last week so he could match up against us this week, I'm sure. Kelly will play most if not all of our game to prove a point. I hope we absolutely slaughter these assholes, both in score and physically. If like to see some smirks wiped off faces. Having said that, I do not trust this year's Bombers at all.2 points
-
Well, maybe. If the Argos can beat the Bombers with a starting lineup peppered with B team players, the ought to give them a huge psychological lift. Even if the Bombers squeak out a win, it would be almost as beneficial for the Argos. If, on the other hand, Bombers trounce the Boatmen, the Argos can comfort themselves with "well, it wasn't our best lineup". The key might be to humble Kelly with sacks, knockdowns, hard hits and maybe an INT or two.1 point
-
Toronto is the team to beat this year. And again, I really don't see a team that is going to knock them off in the east. Montreal could do something if they had a QB.1 point

That’s what modern defences are designed to do. It used to be about showing one thing pre snap and another post snap. Forcing two reads to be accurate and track the change. Now it’s even post snap with asymmetrical coverage. It’s not one guy covering one guy or even covering one area any more. It’s 4 guys sharing the coverage on one side of the field. And that can change from 4 to 5 to 3, to one of those guys playing man and the rest playing zone, or rotating guys to the inside or over the top to take away different angles. The WRs are reading the defence to adjust patterns and the coverage is reading the patterns to adjust their coverage. If the play gets rushed or it’s a fast timing play and the coverage call is lucky or really smart you get a play that makes a qb or oc look real stupid and a db or dc look brilliant. And vice versa. Zach had a pick Vs Hamilton like that.1 point -
Really. I know you're just trying to be an ******* to contradict me, and that's fine...it's your house.... But you look at places like Italy, who had the army patrolling the streets to make sure nobody left their house....that's a lockdown. Nobody in Canada was ever in a true lockdown.
