There's no reason why in an 18 game schedule, and a 9 team league each team cannot play each other twice. It makes 0 sense. Every team should have a home and home. Anyways, it's really too bad that Kelly and Harris aren't playing for the Argos. I just hope the Bombers don't take the game for granted. GO BOMBERS!

I’ll go with what I think was the best gift I have ever given, and it also ended up giving back to me. A bit of a backstory first. My mom would tell me that when I was little, I would take my blocks over to where she did her sewing and sit on the floor by her. She said I told her I was building a castle for her and that someday I would buy her a castle (my mom always loved castles). Fast-forward to the mid-90’s and I was in Calgary for a conference just before Mother’s Day. I went into a store (I think it was called History Makers) and was looking around. They had some miniature castles on display, the kind of thing you would put on a display shelf in your living room. My mom had a shelf like that with a glass door because she liked to collect stuff like that. I saw the castles and thought it would make a great Mother’s Day gift because it would be kind of amusing since I could say that I kept my promise. I left the store and started walking down the street and then thought “yes, stupid, that would make a great gift”. Went back and bought Edinburgh Castle and my mom loved it. Fast-forward to 2014 and my mom was dying. I was able to make it back to Winnipeg a few days before she died and see her while she was still conscious and semi-lucid. After she died, we were at my parent’s house and my sister took the castle from the shelf and gave it to me saying “you should have this”. To this day it sits proudly on display in my home. I’ve told my daughter that she’s free to pick it up and look at it, but she won’t touch it because she knows how special it is to me and she’s afraid she’ll break it.

Who cares? There is zero awards given to the best team in the league Sept 29th. The Bombers only concern is being #1 in the west. And if they beat an Argos team without all their starters to do it....who cares?

It's disappointing that the Argo's aren't fielding the best team they can. Turns a game I've been waiting for all season into a glorified pre-season game.

I see this game as sort of a no win for the Bombers regardless of what happens. If the Bombers win it is due to the fact that the Argos did not play their "A" team as they want to rest starters etc. etc. - If the Bombers lose there will be tons of questions . IMHO the Bombers need to win just to stay in first and continue to fight for home field advantage for the WF or WSF etc. Nothing else matters!

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts have submitted their final injury reports ahead of their meeting on Friday at IG Field. In Winnipeg, wide receiver Dalton Schoen (hip) was a limited participant on Wednesday and was listed as questionable for the game, same as defensive linemen Jackson Jeffcoat (hip) and Thiadric Hansen (Achilles). Defensive back Desmond Lawrence (knee) was ruled out for Friday. The Argonauts will be without three players for the game including linebacker Wynton McManis (ankle) defensive back Jamal Peters (groin) and wide receiver Cam Phillips (groin). Running back AJ Ouellette (foot) practised fully on Tuesday and was limited on Wednesday but will be available. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why anyone gives a single solitary f*** about who Toronto is or isn't playing in this game. I want the Bombers to get 2pts and move on to the important game, in BC next week. I don't give a **** about the two supposed best teams in the league matching up... I only want Bombers wins, however they come. Best case scenario is we curb stomp these assholes and the cockroaches can go back to the hole they crawled out of.

That's a slight exaggeration, but yes, there was a major brouhaha between (the always-charming) Brandon Banks and Trevon Tate on the sideline in the second game of the year, and after the ninth game there was a fight in the locker room. And as it turned out, all that volatility helped bring the team together off the field as well as on. Over the final 11 games last season (nine RS pls two post-season), they lost a single game that actually mattered in the standings. And over the first 12 (meaningful) games this year, they lost a single game. That doesn't happen with a bad locker room.

Is he your starting quarterback? If not, there is a good chance he gets the W. Bombers love to make 2nd and 3rd string QBs, world beaters.

look at the Cats active roster for DL guys....Mason Bennet....Malik Carney...Tre Crawford...Ja'GaredDavis...Jamal Davis...Jarrod Hewitt...Kongbo...Ted Laurent...Sayles...Dylan Wynn....also have a Global on the PR and 3 on the 6 game....dare to dream here Something has to give there you would think.......any one of those guys would punt our Bennett, Schmeckle, and Thomas right off the line-up...That's pretty sad

as horrible as that 3rd quarter in booth interview was with Keith Urban, Suitor and Cuthbert I have to say that his performance in that GC was excellent and was part of an overall fantastic Grey Cup experience. I did like Keith's comment about how "I'm sure there's some drinking going on in Winnipeg right now!" lol Yes Keith...and there was a lot of drinking going on in Kelowna as well....

at this pint in season...there's nothing left to the imagination...it is what it is other than any game to game tweaks to the scheme.....

yeah...we seemed to have gotten leaner last 2 yrs...Traded away a guy...dumped one....Hansen went down last yr...eventually we brought in that scrap pile Adams from Sask....but our lean front hurt us

We have not matched up well against the Argos front seven for a few years now. That's the key for us to beat them. They also have a solid oline. Kelly playing or not is really not a big deal. Thier wins have not depended on his play. Their defense and specials create alot of good scoring situations for their offense. If we can keep Zac clean, churn out yards on the ground and actually cover on the teams well, we should win.

Pretty big get though for the CFL. She's huge. I guess The Reklaws were busy.

That argument makes sense until you consider we lost to both Ottawa & Hamilton. As far as easy teams go, we played Edmonton when they had Corn Head playing qb along with Calgary. We split our games with the Riders so what's that say?? We're good but we aren't well prepared which comes down to coaching. In Toronto, say what you will about an easy schedule with crap teams in the East... but their team is prepared to play every game & they look absolutely dialed in. I hate to say this but the Argos go out & kick ass every time they play. What do we do? If we feel like it we play hard & win. Other times we put it in cruise control & eventually find a way to win games... In the fourth quarter because we got behind as we played awful. Or we just went out & **** the bed. There seems to be an issue with the Bombers. Is it coaching? Is it players not being ready to play? Overconfidence? Arrogance? Age? I have no idea but we are beyond a doubt, a real Jekyll & Hyde team. I see as lot of the 2014-17 Mike O'Shea this year. He doesn't seem to hold his players accountable if they play badly. Roster management is in question. He just smirks on the sidelines when we're losing like it's no big deal. Hey, we're 10-4 & we all should be happy but we're not. The problem is, we have no idea what kind of a 10-4 team we are. Can we make another GC run or are we one & done in the playoffsl??

If we actually ca get Hansen on...solves one issue, how we can't find a Canadian punter and allow us to put Karamoko on the roster to bolster teams, as well as be a backup in secondary is troublesome...with all our ST crap play, having a average to good Canadian there I bet would serve us no worse, and I actually think us continuing to try and out smart teams with the Aussie stuff is part of why we suck so bad...to me that global spot is as much a waste as Jackson being on roster...Sheehan never impressed me at all right from camp. If Ford would just get his arse back here that would help us out bigtime....he can return , and he could be the role Parker has right now, allowing us to get Fox on the roster along with Haba or Deng.....but we just keep trotting out Jackson there for no real reason that I can see, as umpteen guys on our roster can do that role...and probably better. A smart thing as well would be to get Deng on this week in lieu of Clements or Cole and see what he brings...and if anything we show sets with 4 de's on the field giving the Argo o-line fits, it just adds extra study and scheming for teams to have to account for all of a sudden....status quo and just accepting outcomes right now is a fast track to early exit

I believe the deadline is usually the frat week, or 2 of Oct for that player to be eligible to play for the new team in playoffs...anything after that they cant

You're entitled to your opinion. But I can't see how anyone watches this team and thinks that they're not having a blast playing together and generally enjoying the heck out of their teammates. You can't fake having fun. And The Chad has done some growing up. This is his team and they all know that he is their ticket to winning. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion. Maybe we get killed so bad in our upcoming exhibition game that cracks appear in the facade. I'd love it... just can't see it.

I can't think of a fan in bigger denial than this. Your franchise QB is a headcase of epic proportion all on his own. Only a matter of time before he does something truly dumb. Not to mention guys like Edwards etc. Just ass clowns really.

Yup game tape is a beautiful thing. Yes teams will introduce new wrinkles that haven't been displayed yet but overall whoever studies, practices and executes the best, wins.

Same. Looking at the schedule before the season I wasn't happy about where this fixture was placed. Thought we'd need the win and it'd be in the midst of a 10 game no byes stretch with banged up bodies up and down the roster. But my disappointment over what may not be a very competitive game is tempered by us not having any reason to risk players who need the rest or to show your coaches our best ways that we'd line up to attack or defend. Hopefully we use the opportunity to show your defence all sorts of ways that we could line up just to see what you'd do. 34-16 Winnipeg.

Suitor's whole thing with the Country acts is to try and get his kid's demo in their hands to try and get him a deal.... oi vey.

I for one appreciate @pw13’s perspective. In agreement of details or not, I’m a sucker for CFL history. I was going to say, I remember them getting decent crowds in 06-07, when we had a decent little rivalry going. Don’t remember hearing anything about C&S papering.

Oh yeah the argos were so ready to play when they lost to calgary... and they've had some close games that should never have been close as well. Honestly the argos remind me an awful lot of the lions last season. Tons of byes early on and everyone had them pegged as THE team to beat, except they didn't make it to the Grey Cup. Said it before and I'll say it again, how you play in the summer doesn't matter for much in the cfl. How you are playing in the fall is what matters.

The thing about that is each really has its own niche with in Toronto. Especially the raptors and jays. Leafs are what they are. But the demographic at a raptors game is very very different. Even the jays to an extent. The Argos lost their niche. But the lions also lost theirs and have done a great job of getting it back with out going to a grey cup. Problem is mlse is a deadbeat owner. They’ve had the Argos for 5 years and things have only gotten much worse.
