  1. Yes, but he's a lawyer, rules expert, CBA expert, et al. So checkmate.

  2. Not really the place but I have first-hand knowledge of what it's like having a spouse go through chemo while having young kids at home. It's so incredibly draining on everyone and it feels endless. **** cancer!

  9. I think the Stamps season should raise some alarm bells about one guy trying to do too many jobs...

  10. This argument is weird. TBurgess is arguing that the ball should be spotted where the ball was when the foot went out of bounds, and he is right. But Booch is arguing that point because its TBurgess, rather than the point he should be arguing, which is that even by that interpretation he didn't have the first down. This board goes in circles sometimes. It makes me dizzy.

  11. No every good coordinator, or even great coordinator, makes a good HC. The list of guys who were fantastic as a coordinator but epic failure as a HC is very long. Others can go from ST coach to legend....it really isn't about how great a coordinator you are. HC and coordinator are two different skill sets.

  12. That IS big. Would have figured he'd be close to if not top of the list for HC candidates.

    The Tech Thread

Not sure how much I like the idea of everywhere being phone-accessible. It is already annoying how attached we are and it has been nice to go to backwoods areas without any signal. Having something like you seem to have for emergencies seems good, but not being always connected everywhere.

  15. Can the Ti Cats hand first place to the Bombers and can the Stamps make things very interesting down the stretch.

  16. That should be a penalty in the CFL. That's one thing the NFL does better.

  17. BLM is singlehandedly messing this up for the Bombers. Headshot. No penalty.

  21. Top shelf. That said while I hate plop the oc and guy who can’t keep his hands off the play calling duty, he is a great guy, leader, and football mind. I can’t believe there isn’t some role where he could be a great asset to a team and not get in his own way. But I have no idea what that is.

  23. I hope we keep Walters. If we lose Walters, I hope its not MOS as coach and GM. Goevia or Rigmaiden, especially Rigmaiden as GM would be great. Rigmaiden brings in talent see his time with us and with BC.

  25. How I imagine it looks in some members places when I post anything.
    2 points
  26. Yeah, after watching that video, they really don't say much about Walters except that there's speculation that a lot of the decision making has been consolidated under O'Shea. So whether that means they're going to make him the GM on top of being HC....who knows. I just have such a hard time imagining that The Trinity doesn't stay together AT LEAST through 2025 to try and finish this thing off with the ultimate cherry on top. But who knows.... there could be in fighting going on.... would explain some things about why this past offseason was apparently **** for recruiting, or the players who did get recruited didn't really get a chance on the field.... maybe there's a difference of opinion that's causing these issues?? Won't know anything til the end of the year, and hopefully it's shortly after the GC parade that they announce a KW extension...

  28. He is right though. The ball is marked where it was when the player stepped out of bounds, not where the foot is. It is why players extend for the pylon before going out of bounds/down. If it was where your foot was - why would you bother? Regardless - Adams was clearly OOB before he extended for extra yards.

  29. Osh gets a boner for under achievers and guys behind 8ball....and tends to wanna really try and make em happen....seen it a lot since he been here....kudos to him for being behind some guys...but at the expense of better talent it's a flaw....u can still be a players coach/show loyalty other ways

  30. yeah....a waste of a spot for sure...no use at all games he was on...yet we saw what Kelly did before...and since He played like that in Pre-season...and the few games he got earlier in yr before hw got "hurt" which I have doubts he was even
    2 points
  31. I was seriously impressed by Kelly's kick cover against Toronto. I can clearly remember on play that he lined up on the near sideline, kick and returner went on the far side and he ran a "J" route around everyone and made the tackle. Cemented my opinion that he needs to be on the roster and will be a difference maker in the future.

  34. We've some injuries at receiver (Gittens, Phillips, Johnson) so adding Agudosi gives us cover. Hasn't lived up to his stature yet. By his measureables he's a freak, but he obviously hasn't caught on anywhere and seems to have been a numbers-game or cap casualty so far in his career. Huge extension signed for the Boatmen. I was 100% sure we were losing him this off season. TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today they have extended the contract of Defensive Coordinator Corey Mace. Mace, in his second season coaching the Argos defence, has led a unit that leads the CFL in sacks (54), interceptions (22),turnovers (42), opponent big plays (20, seven better than second place), opponent rush yards (79.6), is second in offensive points allowed (20.2) and opponents yards/play (5.98) while ranking third in offensive touchdowns allowed (31). The British Columbia native joined the Boatmen at the start of 2022, saw three of his players become Division All-Stars, and was integral in helping the Argonauts capture their 18th Grey Cup championship in November. Read it, and Hogans article on it here: https://www.argonauts.ca/2023/10/13/double-blue-extend-contract-of-defensive-coordinator-corey-mace/

  35. Kelly has really impressed me when he’s been on the field, just doesn’t have enough playing time to get put forward. I expect that Osh will thumb his nose at all of us and the team nominee will be Jackson. Possibly Bennett, definitely has shown the most growth during the season. Haba probably the most talented of the bunch but again doesn’t have enough playing time to be viewed as much of an impact. Overall a very sad list.

  36. Let's keep it simple. The play is over when either 1) the player, or 2) the ball, goes out of bounds. So in this case, placement depends whether 1) the foot, or 2) the ball goes out of bounds first. If a player steps out of bounds first the spot is where he stepped out. If the ball goes out of bounds first (while the player remains in-bounds) then the spot is where the ball went out of bounds. In this case VA stepped out of bounds before the ball went out of bounds. Therefore the spot is where his foot was, since the play is dead at that point. There can never be a case where the placement of the spot is where the ball went out if the player previously stepped out.

  37. yes....you see foot out 1.5 yards short of the first down, and the Vaj arm yet to be extended and the ball is inside the field of play...Have a feed from the endzone, as well as from north sideline side

  39. I really do think Lapo has found his calling and will get better and better with experience in the broadcast profession. I really enjoy how he breaks down things for the viewer. It's engaging.

  40. Yep, especially vs cfl dbs who are a bit shorter than nfl dbs. Too bad K9 instantly had hands like Chris walby when he came here. And had guys throwing him the ball that made Dru brown look like Zach collaros. Great dude, wonder what he’s up to now. He’d be a good one to be involved with cfl media/coverage. 3dn Writing, radio, even tv would be great. 3dn should really go after some guys like that and Doug brown to write regular articles. The quality would explode instantly.

  41. This is exactly what I’m worried about. That said the last few similar concerns going into the off season have been handled other than losing Ringmaiden which was an inevitability so just hoping this is more of the same.

  43. I would hope that doesnt get off-loaded on Osh....that would not be a good thing any way you slice it If Walters bolts...or is not retained...which I doubt..Goevia is a sho-in seamless transition
