  1. Yes, have arrived in Bali...having left Lombok (ok, part of Lombok) in a state of excitment...about our Blue Bombers Grey Cup drive, down the stretch..... In the spirit of international good will....a language exchange has been formed. This exchange enables me to add interesting new phrases to my knowledge of Bahasa Indonesian. In return, the local population has acquired a better knowledge of the CFL...as well as some useful phrases such as: "Fake Argos" "BC sucks" "Riders no good" "Bombers rule!" "Elks roadkill" I may be far away in body....but not in spirit. The Blue Bomber organization must realize that I am still watching..... Go Blue!!

  2. Guys. Keep the discussion on football. Jets stuff can go to that forum and petty personal jabs can be left at the door.

  3. a viable replacement for the best receiver the league has seen in years........ **** YOU BOMBERS FOR NOT HAVING THIS READILY AVAILABLE!!! The only viable replacement for Schoen is Lawler..... to paraphrase Adam Sandler in Happy Gilmore "...man, I'm glad I called THAT guy..."

  6. So bombers clinch first with a win or bc loss?

  7. I personally don't think Ford will have the same game that he had against us when we played them in Edmonton. If anything, Richie Hall has probably got a good scheme for him and the Bombers will address those miscues from the first game. I would hope that the idea of locking up first place will be enough motivation for the team to fire on all cylinders and not take the game lightly. Which Bombers team shows up?

  8. Bolo should be the starter...while Schoen out...McRae really offers nothing for us there..A big bodied physical receiver who has good hands...can cause mismatches is what we need...plus we can add an import on defence....hello Fox and Haba

  9. That ain't even Schoen, I think it's Hardrick! O'Shea's taking his trickery too far.

  10. Yes, in Tait's piece from yesterday, Osh was asked if he had any update on Schoen and his answer was.......and I'm quoting here.... "Nope."

  11. I've been thinking about that... but I think different things are being asked of them. Strev was more limited capacity. An "every down, multiple routes being run" receiver likely requires more stability... but that's just a guess.

  13. BRB - just going to to scour some PRs to find those immediate impact unstoppable WRs that can’t break into worse receiving groups for some reason.

The first 3 years the Jets were back there was a palpable organic party vibe in the arena. People were just happy to have the team back. There were the random chants that would source up from the crowd, there was electricity in the air when you were there, it was a fun place to be even without the team winning. That has slowly declined since then. The Jets now need to work to bring that back as it isn't just "happening" on its own anymore.

  15. Hope they win on Saturday and take care of business. Either way it'll be funny that SSK will be rooting for us next week against CAL. It's nice we're already in the playoffs though 1st place is ideal. I don't miss those lean years of looking for outside help as Halloween came around.

We moved from a group to a mini pack last year (rest of the group didn't want to renew). They are way more convenient. Seems to me groups are dying out with demand not there and mini packs weren't originally available when they came back with demand being what it was. We took the weekend pack, which is more expensive games. We are close to center ice, upper deck, and pay $1000 per seat (after tax) for 11 games .

  20. I don't know that he's being targeted, and he's so damn elusive and shifty that given a little space they can target him all they want, they aren't getting a clean hit... It's those bang-bang catch-hit plays where a defender tees off on him immediately after the catch that are a little too frequent and adding up. He's an absolute warrior for hanging on so often and getting those yards we need when we need them. It's the cost of doing business, I don't know if he can protect himself better while still making the plays he does now.

  21. Sure fans are entitled to where they want to spend their dollars. Like @Noellersaid, True North needs to create a vibe that the Jets are the place to be on game days. I think they'll figure it out, they should have done this 5 years ago. I choose to support both the Jets and the Bombers. Not having an NHL team for 15 years, made me realize what we lost. Regardless what you think of true north or the Jets, I always want to be in a city that has both the CFL and NHL.

  22. Use Bolo or lose him next season, don't see why a player would stick around for years if coaching staff doesn't have the confidence to use him when the opportunity he's been waiting for comes up.

  23. yes those were the days, up in the nosebleeds, watching half the game on an old Westinghouse TV as we couldn't see the far side of the rink....munching down gut bomb hotdogs and watery hot chocolate...ahhh....

  30. So given the bye week and then hopefully playoff bye week missing the last 2 games puts him at 4 weeks... we thinking ankle sprain here?

  31. The CFL has a 10 player PR size so that is kind of an inevitability in our league. We are activating Greg McRae aren't we?

  32. My only worry is Wolitarsky’s quote “His first real injury. Big injury” Now lacking a bit in context, and what he defines as “big” is open to interpretation, but at first blush, straight from the horse’s mouth, that does not sound encouraging. The rest is just more media speculation.

  33. True, although really only used as a running back on sweeps. And given the injury he suffered on one of those plays earlier this season, and the impact it had on our return game, I am more than happy to keep him on the sidelines for everything except for returns.

  35. People are hurting right now with this economy. While the Jets have a stale product on the ice you can’t go to a game without paying nearly 100 dollars for a nose bleed and 10 dollars a beer. The Bombers have done great promotions to make their product affordable. I love the jets and bombers nearly equally but I go to almost every bomber game but only go to about 3-4 Jets games a year. People just don’t have the actually cash to throw around anymore and until ownership wakes up we’re unfortunately going to continue to see those kind of crowds. The Bombers are a shining example of a good product on and off the field.

  40. So... you're telling me that the riders needed just ONE win after the LDC to get into the playoffs... and the door looks to be closing? Ouch.

  41. Looks like Schmidt is a scratch tonight, which I agree with, but Stanley takes his place…. I would’ve given Chisholm a shot. Perfetti is moving to the wing. I know he’s struggled at the dot, but maybe they should’ve given him more than 3 games to figure it out. Appleton on the 1st line??? That one is a real head scratcher. IMO he has no business being there. None.

I ain't spending 200$ for me and my kid on a school night. I'll gladly waste 1000$ a year on Jets tix for me and my kid but Not during the school week Prices btw are the biggest problem Groceries rent gas Jets Which is more important Also west cost teams don't draw here. LA is boring team

  43. Hopefully Schoen missing the rest of the reg. season is all it is....Two games remaining could mean that's all he'll miss....I hope he's ready for the playoffs and our Cup run ....The extent of his injury is vague at best and maybe it's best it's kept that way....He sure does take a lot of punishment, and it's tough to avoid when teams are teeing off on our star consistently, to reduce his effectiveness or just plain want to put him out of the game...He's one tough warrior and hangs in there....Hope he's ready for the post season, it'll be a tough loss IF he isn't

  44. Mark this: This team has alot of adversity and doubters going into the playoffs.... We will another cup. If there has ever been a cup based on spite...its this crew.... Remember this post.

  45. I don't mind having mccrae in there, he's made some plays. But I really do think BOO is the best kept secret in the league.

  46. I want to say it was a shade under 20k, but it could well have gone up a little bit with improvements to infrastructure over that span. They didn’t get that money which is stupid, but they also played at a dirt cheap venue compared to us or the riders now paying off our portions of the new stadiums. They would go and sell out the old ex once a year too. They could’ve done that for a fist full of big games a year and made a ton more cash. As good as the roster management was for them back then the franchise management did stink.
