  2. I hope Brady rips off a 20 yard run on his first play from scrimmage... and they pull him with exactly 2000 all purpose yards for the year

  3. I am happy to see our young guys and to watch a game where I don't have to stress. @Noeller, no waiting until 11:30 to start this time.

  4. the December 2021 game was as cold as it could possibly be (that windchill was insane) and we still jammed the place. People will come out in droves in a couple of weeks... no question in my mind. Wade has made IGF *THE* place to be...

  7. Jefferson led the league with 13 knockdowns. Deatrick Nichols was second with 12. Holm was 3rd with 11. Betts not on the leaders list.

  10. Khari Jones deserves another shot at HC after being jobbed in Montreal imho.

  11. nope....the last couple WF proof of that

  14. and this is why.... as much as I loved the guy and appreciate his time in Winnipeg........ I'm not sure why people think he deserves a shot at being a HC. What exactly has he done/proved?

  15. Genuinely disappointed in MBB that this didn't turn into more of a thing.

  16. Not a country music fan at all, but Chris Stapleton coming to Winnipeg as the only Canadian stop on his tour is pretty cool. That guy has one of the best voices in music, IMO.

  17. So, what about the punch to the face? Or is that an all encompassing "head contact"? Should be two games- one for each blow to the head. I mean Robertson got one for a single head butt after the whistle. Or is a 2for this last week? Get 2 head shots for the price of ONE!

  18. The 28-year-old recorded 37 defensive tackles, three tackles for loss, seven sacks, and two fumble recoveries over 17 games this season. Barring appeal, his suspension will prevent him from dressing for the West Semi-Final against Calgary on Saturday, Nov. 4. https://3downnation.com/2023/10/27/cfl-suspends-b-c-lions-dl-sione-teuhema-one-game-fines-four/

  20. I don't think we need to see ZC out there at all: dude doesn't seem to need the game reps to stay sharp and I strongly believe we would have won the cup last year if he wasn't banged up ... he missed some throws in that game that he'd been making all year. Those pinpoint ZC passes weren't happening. (Note: I know nothing about coaching football)

  23. My bet is Betts gets it hands down simply for the reason of how they (certain CFL media outlets) have drooled over him all year.

  24. So Winnipeg or another league?

  25. I agree but I would hate to see it in Sask. I hope it's somewhere where I can at least not actively cheer against him every game.

    The Music Thread

you don't have to be a "Country music fan" to like Stapleton. He's more in the vein of 70s Southern Rock than anything, and is absolutely one of, probably, the Top 5 voices in all of music right now. If you haven't seen him live, it's an incredible show. He can sing, he can write, and he can absolutely shred on guitar....

  27. Still not a fan of putting the brakes on before the playoffs.. but if guys are nicked getting them some more time to rest is good and it's always fun to see what the young fellas are capable of. Either way, send the lame horses to the glue factory.

  29. Not on the leaders list because he was only credited with one knockdown. Betts is great at his one trick but beyond that...

  30. and I was thinking "What is O'Shea doing, shouldn't we be resting Jackson for playoffs?"

  31. been wanting to see Garbutt since he got here....I think you all will like what you see. I see more upside in him than Haba, and if both could be in lineup with the Jeff's...Damn Watched 4 practices of his....very explosive first move off the snap, and real good hands to shed the tackles...And with this yard off the ball here, he may be a real terror if he is consistently getting early separation off the snap...

  32. those 11 thousand fans that attend Jets games are likely not avid Bomber ones anyway....May be one their smallest crowds of the yr on WF day....casual fan of both...hmmm....Jets game...lousy game day experience...pay thru nose for everything for a lacklustre team......go to Bomber game...crazy event and time pre-game...best professional sports atmosphere in stadium in Canada....and place to be on game day...Let alone a WF....don't really get gouged that bad.....Pretty much a no-brainer where the casual fans of both will choose

  33. Betts is one trick pony...and easy to neutralize....and then he pouts, and is right out of the game mentally...Both our ends offr so much more Interesting enough WJ had his second highest sack total with us this yr....and again multiple FF's with all the batted down passes

  35. Curious if this means the playoff game or if they'll hold it until next regular season...

  36. I'll take a shot at that. My bias is how he approached sitting in the head chair. I think where his strengths lay are as a Head Coach, not as an assistant coach calling plays. I think he's a motivator, a team cohesion guy, a get good feel for getting the most out of his players, a wally Buono type coach where his coordinators do the X's and o's and he leads the team from the people end of things. He got Montreal to the playoffs two years in a row in challenging environment and I think if the little gremlin man hadn't been the GM and hadn't given the HC job to his bud (JM), he would have grown into a great Head Coach. I know professional sports is immediate results, what have you done for me lately but give him a bit of growing pains leeway and reap the rewards.

  38. Khari has gotten around as a coaching assistant, Hamilton, BC, Sask., Montreal, now Ottawa, so far success has not been a prominent feature of his coaching career.

  42. I think when it comes down to the nitty gritty ...really does it matter who is interested...you know they're headed for a giant fail....I just wonder how many candidates, who have any credibility, actually apply...It'll be an interesting watch

  43. Not too worried about the defensive guys....some def need a break, and good rest to be fresh....and it's easier for them to step back in and be right back where they were Offensively tho is a bit a diff feeling...I would start ZC and get him 2..3 series, or put him in midway thru game to run a series of scripted things once we see what Stamps are doing and how our guys are performing Same with our starting skill guys...let them get reps and in sync with game until they feel like they good, and then start rotating guys in....almost 3 weeks off not under live bullet fire for offensive guys can take sometimes a good quarter...even a half to get re-acclimated....too much is made of getting hurt....play as you normally do...within reason

  44. that be a hard thing to accomplish then....Whats out there in that regard..Lapo?....Milanovich I doubt goes there, and will decline, or the Cats will give him more of a role, and upgrade....even if he does look into it...I can't see him wanting Dolegala as he won't suit his style...I guess part may hinge on what they do with the albatross named Harris....do they retain him before coach is found...and saddle the new guy with an old useless QB who is not the future and eats a huge portion of the SMS...or do they dump him and saddle a new upstart coach with QB's who are average at best?...Hate to be in Sask situation any way you slice it

  47. he's a decent pass rusher now, but it's basically just all a speed rush technique.....he was next to non existent prior to this year, and tailed off a bit once teams figured out his schtick and just adjusted to force him out wide and deep......is good in backside pursuit after yards are gained by a RB , but thats also do to his lack of recognizing or respecting run as well....which doesn't make him a great well rounded d lineman in my opinion...Where as you have a guy like Jeffcoat who will use speed/technique...But also just bully his way and over power guys to collapse a pocket....and WJ who uses a combo of everything, as well as leads league...again in knockdowns....Betts gets/got a lot of props and love like most of the lions did early in the year before they...mainly the defence got exposed to what it was...and teams adapted and abused them...especially in the run game kinda hit on that in previous post while u were typing this....But when healthy...Jeffcoat is best D-lineman ....all around D-lineman in the league...hands down..Technique...Power...Containment...killer against the run....just the best

  48. Nor can you overlook the fact that we have pretty much put many games on his back, he wasn't racking up stats in garbage time. We dared teams to stop him and they couldn't. He didn't have 5 or 6 big games against wimpy teams to pad his stats, he ran over everyone.
