I wanted nothing more than for Liegghio to figure it out and become that 20-year veteran NI kicker that stays with us forever.... but man oh man, am I ever thankful for Serge and what he's been able to do this year. That game in Calgary proved that he's ready to to be clutch in the crazy Canadian early-winter playoffs...

  9. By every metric, Brady has had the more exceptional season. Objectively, he did more to help his team be successful than any other MOP nominee. You take Kelly out of the Toronto offense, they still won games and still managed great field position in every contest they were in. You take Brady off the Bombers, do we win the close games? Do we grind out wins? Chances are, no.

    The RIP 2023 Thread

The idea that because a public figure doesn't know each person that respects/enjoys their work so we shouldn't talk about them, is ridiculous. I mean Bob Irving has no idea who most people on the board are but I guarantee that when his time comes, it will be a sad day here (and throughout the Canadian football community) and there will be tons of discussion about his life and career. People can impact your life without ever having met you and there's nothing wrong with that all. As mentioned earlier, if this thread isn't your thing, maybe you should just ignore it and not comment on it?

  14. I think the problem people have is not that Kelly wasn't very good... by all accounts he was... but Brady had a historically good season for a Canadian RB... so you'd think a QB would have to have something better than a "very good" season to beat him out... but this award was already decided in July... so hopefully it'll fire up our guys when it matters the most

  15. yup and that east matchup is gonna be a dirty chippy affair I bet too....T.O just strolling along...resting guys and not having a meaningfull game in a while may be in for a rude awakening with a team coming in who had to brawl their way there

  16. It should have been decided last week if he was appealing or not. But if he is appealing and its upheld too late for this week's game it just means he misses the game vs the Bombers.

  18. Bucky keeping the Jets in this game so far. Really sloppy play by them. Only four shots this period too and that power play was garbage

  20. Ambles could likely slot in for Schoen. I think Bailey is fine. Could also use BOLO, dress Murphy and flip that American spot to the secondary or DL.

  21. And not to mention the fact, and this is key, that the Argo's really do indeed suck. We can't forget that. I'll let the adults go back to talking now.

  24. I think, for me, the worst part is his justification that Betts' impact was "staggering".... was it staggering how invisible he was for about 6-8 games this year too?... If "impact in games" is your barometer... the winner is Brady by a mile

  25. lol....sure....even tho I dont put much weight into that PFF system....can't argue. As for ELI he should have been starting once he was game ready, but he came into camp in best shape ever, and was fine in TC....Just a typical Osh reason he wasn't a starter...Dude was a top 3 centre in all of the NCAA and likely a 4-5th round pick.....surely has a lil more skill than an undersized guy who was out of football and nobody wanted for a few yrs, and only got the spot cause our regular center got hurt...but again...whatever.I like Osh as our coach, has a lot of good qualities but guess will have to stomach some of his butt awfull roster decisions/usage Hate to bet a dead horse as well, but just what was seen with Fox.....which he did also in his other start should have been in all along for Jackson as well....but whatever, have to put up with Osh's lame reasoning, and it's not a talent or usefulness reason at that in some instances

  30. Or Whatever happens, Argos will always suck. Yea?

  31. I know this sounds like stupid rationalization, but normally they don't ever let injured/potentially-injured players anywhere near the media post-game....and Bailey was on the CJOB post game show, so to me, that means he's fine. Wonder if they THOUGHT it was nothing and then it turned out to be something..... sure hope Knuckles isn't right about that one, though he almost always is.

  33. The team just added him back to the PR after having previously released him. Like adding Ambles to the PR incase Bailey and Schoen can't go. He's a vet that has won cups.

  34. I picked the visitors in both games this weekend. As much as Calgary's offence has sputtered, they pulled out that win in BC 2 weeks ago and I think they can do it again. For Hamilton, I felt like Bo Levi Mitchell's throws were looking a lot more like the old Bo, but his receivers were letting him down. I think with Tim White back in the lineup this week, Bo will have better support on the receiver side and that they will be able to pull off the upset in Montreal.

  37. Smart move if one or both are knicked and cant play...Ambles is an experienced vet...seen it all...been in the playoffs....savy move I like Blackmon being back too....he could be a real intriguing guy, and take Mcrae's spot and be more a receiving threat and still be used with motion out of the back field

    Restaurant/food thread

They opened about two months ago I believe. I've been a couple times as I love shawarma. You can get more of a North American meal if the family isn't wanting to try something completely new. Their signature creations page has some different options like getting your shawarma on top of fries, rice or salad rather than in a wrap. I've tried the chicken "on the rocks" (chicken on a bed of rice) and it's really good. https://osmows.com/menu/signature-creations/

  39. Prukop is good on sneaks, and when he does decide to keep the ball instead of handing it off he can get some really good yards. His passing looked awful the other day and was nothing special. Strev is great on sneaks, and when HE decides to run with the ball it's magic. His passing is greatly under rated and before LaPo was getting cute with the play calls and just let him run a basic offense he was making lightning quick decisions and can hit receivers in stride. I'd imagine 3 years with NFL training has improved the passing game big time. Zach is staying until he decides to retire... see his W/L record for any questions on if we ever move on from him.

  41. Honestly thought the Jets have looked okay (aside from what has to be a league worst PP) in keeping up with one of the best teams in the league and a clear SC favourite. If the Jets manage to scratch and claw a point out of this, that's a huge "win"...
