  1. Lots of interesting stuff here: https://www.bluebombers.com/2023/10/31/statistical-year-in-review/ Big one that jumped out to me 100/955 Winnipeg was penalized 100 times in the regular season for 955 yards, fewest in the CFL. And here’s the number that just reinforces how disciplined this team is – over the last five seasons, 2017-23, the Blue Bombers have been the least penalized team in the league EVERY SINGLE SEASON.

  3. Bighill makes dirty hit every single play, and our OL, ALL 5 OF THEM, are holding on every play. We should have 992 penalties for 8000 yards in penalties this season but the fix is in because Ambrosie lived in Winnipeg a long time ago. Signed, Riderfans

  4. Speaks to coaching. For all his perceived flaws, O'Shea has consistently fielded a disciplined and mindful team - they don't hurt themselves with stupid, selfish penalties.

  6. Brady should be MOP and MOC but likely just gets MOC because the media is full of idiots. Dinwiddie, off topic but does anybody else think he does not look ok healthwise when watching on tv?

  8. yup....not to say it is so...but the red nose, and it being somewhat enlarged makes one think he could have an issue....and the fact he looks like he has aged immensely over the past 3 yrs...hope all is ok

  9. Throughout the Labour Day Classic, the guy behind me kept calling, "offiside" on every play. "Bombers are offside again!" I said, Dickie can challenge, you know? Also, the guy was upset when the ref placed the (Rider) ball on the Bomber 1 yard line. "He was closer than that. They ripped him off half a yard!"

  12. Talk about roster management all you want but this is really where O’Shea shines. This is an incredible achievement, and really this is the difference in sone of those tight games, staying disciplined, and not taking bad penalties. I’ve seen very few stupid, and retaliation penalties on the Blue Bombers since Mike O’Shea has been head coach.

  14. The bolded names in original message...That's whom I figure are gonna get the nod BO...Based on season...consistency and historical numbers...and fact he is Canadian and has bettered many an imports numbers I selected Betts over Pickett, as I think the slobbering all yr over one trick Betts and he's Canadian is gonna put him over...But that being said I would rather have Pickett on my squad Hardick....cause he flat out deserves it, and if not for Big Stan on his team may have won one already...Plus...best overall offence Leake....nuff said and no need to justify Stiggerz....Same as Leake Dinwiddie only cause he got more wins...Had to deal with minimal injuries....easier sched...and the luxury of multiple games over crap teams....Osh I think coached better roster flaws and all lol

  15. I don't disagree with you... Those short trips, especially the Hamilton games, are not plane rides which is a huge advantage. Average distance per trip falls out like this: Toronto: 1174 Hamilton: 1233 Winnipeg: 1288 Saskatchewan: 1438 Ottawa: 1440 Edmonton: 1463 Montreal: 1498 Calgary: 1651 BC: 1978 And yes, I did factor in TD Atlantic this time.

  19. And it might speak to why we passed on SOME of those players we've brought in - they didn't mesh with the locker room .. they were undisciplined or selfish or just not "getting it".

  20. This. You can't take their record away from them though. They won games and beat the teams they were scheduled to face. It doesn't matter the how or why of it but you also can't turn a blind eye to how easy they had it right out of the gate.

  21. but according to RFans...its a conspiracy...and refs favour us hahaha Could never be a case of reputation preceding you tho.....much like their undisciplined bottom of the league mark lot of that goes to vets in locker room setting the cuture and how to go about things on and off field more than anything....But also Walters and Osh bringing in, and keeping the character guys too

  23. yup....the smart move was to bring a guy in (ambles) with experience, and bring a guy back Blackmon....with limited experience but knows the CFL game now. 2 weeks before to get fully acclimated to team/system, just in case, as opposed to scrambling the week of, and having to plug in a virtually unprepared guy...

I agree. It was cold but dry. It feels much colder when it's raining and windy.

  41. Completely agree. Kelly did his job and did it well. Nothing more. BO exceeded all expectations. Toronto's average starting field position and number of offensive series is by far the most in the CFL, yet they squandered a lot of those opportunities with a pretty pedestrian red zone efficiency.

  42. Ambles is an insurance policy, and a pretty good one for the price. I don't foresee him hitting the field unless things go from bad to worse in our receiving corps injuries. Nice option to have, should fit our room well also. These are exactly the type of moves a really good GM does near playoff time when depth at some areas is questionable.

  43. I'm not afraid of the Argos, but on the same note I'm not arrogant enough to think that they are a push over and lucky to have a good win loss record. If (when) they meet up in the finals it will be a 50/50 game that will come down to who can make the big plays and who can win the turn over battle. Like F last year we have a kicker and Prukop not tossing a lame duck that game more then likely ends differently. It usually comes down to a few plays.

  48. Ambles is probably this year's Norman Roosevelt, brought in to spend the rest of the season on the PR, then released. The Stamps picked him up in Aug. dressed him for 4 games and released him, after he went 15/23 for 193 yds. So whatever ability they thought he had earlier in his career may no longer be relevant.

  49. So Kelly has trully been.....outstanding...hahahaha....or shall we say average?....to good? watch this....Duane Ford at around the 11:45 minute mark makes great sense...and nails the Argo thing on the head
