  3. Will be interesting to see what the Bombers do with snap counts this week. Betts and Touhema are the most penalized players in this league by a significant margin, and it is mostly due to trying to jump the snap count. I imagine we will look to exploit that.

  4. I watch every game every season. I've maybe missed 3 games in the last decade.

  5. ace in the hole...Brady and especially our oline thrive in it....same can be said with our physical receivers

  9. best way to beat vaj, if he is playing well, is to keep him on the sideline, by ball control Bomber grinding Offence. nothing fancy. just steady grinding up the B.C. defence. use The mop and the league best O line. then when theyre on the ropes.... finish it with lawler bailey demski wolli.

  11. Listen here sonny boy, I am a board member at my local curling club, a former board member of the MCA, and membership is still very strong and junior membership have never been higher. You are talking out your ass on this one at least as far as Manitoba goes.

  12. yeah....indigenous peoples are always close to nature and have a different slant on things....I think the cases that Brady focuses on are the neglected ones....pups and older dogs .....living under porches with little to eat and tied to abandoned fridges without proper shelter....Those types of scenarios tear the heart out of you if you're any kind of pooch lover....I hope Brady keeps it up

  13. Grand Rapids is definitely the exception to that rule in the native community then. Dog attacks by stray dogs are a very real concern on pretty much every reserve I know of, or have lived. Band constables have dog days where they drive around shooting them for public safety. There is nearly no objection to it that I know of. I am sure a great deal of reserves would welcome these dogs being rescued.

  14. I'm a dog guy and the work he does for these down (but not out) furry pals amazes me.....This guy is a true winner in every sense of the word

  15. Hahha no. I set behind the away team bench. I always tell the opposing team to at least buy the space heater dinner first

  20. Lets not forget where the term Canadian Mafia originated from or how Huff was derisive towards the Bombers for going after free agents:

  21. Me too. I have never met any native from a reserve with an objection to that. Stray/feral dogs are a very real public safety concern on most reserves.

  22. Yeah, the offseason is SO LONG, I can't imagine missing a game when the season comes around. And that's ALL games, not just Bombes. NFL sucks, the NHL is just too big of a league to follow, with way too many games.... curling gets me through the offseason, but once April rolls around, I'm so ready for CFL news to come back around. I PVR every Bomber game during the season, keep the wins, and rewatch those throughout the offseason to get me through. Thank goodness for technology...

  23. no...he messed up...was at Ellice and Notre Dame....hahaha

  24. It's rare that I miss a game. It takes something momentous like birthdays weddings or concert tickets to make me miss a game. Offseason is long enough without skipping games and NFL just isn't anywhere as fun

  28. I'll attest to that. -10 in the Great Lakes is just different than Prairie -10.

  29. Ah, yes, I grasp your point. But, you see, if you've ever resided in a place with a incessant humidity (which is unlike Winnipeg), you'll appreciate the bone-chilling embrace of a damp, 4-degree day. Those morning practices in Vancouver will leave them quite soaked and shivering. Never underestimate the bite of a damp cold, my friend.

  30. I am so hopelessly addicted to CFL football, it's probably a diagnosable condition. I rarely, if ever, miss any CFL game. I love the small boutique-ness of the league where you know virtually every player on every team. I really love the pro curling circuit a lot, but there is nothing that I get fired up for like the CFL.

  31. constant brady, and motion with others getting the odd carry, or threat of it...will basically neutralize the rush....and our big boys will chew up the BC twirps on the dline.....Likely they try and enforce run defence too....going to a lot of man....and we all know what we did to their man coverages

  32. You don't watch any non-Bomber games?!?!

  33. LMAO....doubling down on a feeling you have. If you don't have receipts you are not allowed to converse with him. Exactly. Junior curling is benefitting from hockey being crazy expensive now.

    West Semi Final GDT

A big difference between Walters and Huff is Walters embraced the increasing importance of F.A., mainly because he had to with the state of the franchise at the time and the rise of one year contracts. Whereas Huff shunned F.A. in the belief that recruiting and raising his own was the only proper way to build a team. This also meant many of Huff's recruits left early in their careers to earn more money elsewhere, which is evident in the number of Stamp recruits scattered around the league playing on other teams. Imagine where the the Bombers would be without the F.A. signings of Bryant, Randle, Harris, Jefferson and Bighill? Those signings formed the foundation of Walters dynasty. Time passed Huff by and his stubbornness to adapt or pay better wages to retain recruits has left the Stamps near the bottom of the league.

    2023 Finals Pick 'Ems

I am honored to even make the list at all, simply showing up means something... I thought I was doing well this year and got picks in every week then week 19 or 20 happened, too much life got in the way and I missed the week. Better than usual as I often have 2 or 3 bran fart weeks in which I forget. Rich, Thanks again for hosting this board and sending me the invite when you started it up.

  38. Buffalo a zillion years ago. Never played cold weather football at any serious level of competition. At any rate tho, doesn't sound like it will be too bad in S. Ontario. I don't know what it looks like, but I am pretty sure I know what it smells like.

  39. He is from Buffalo. Long range for the 19th is 10 and rainy. EDIT: for those unaware, Buffalo is on the leeward shore of the lake and has double Winnipeg's annual snowfall and bitter cold humid air.

  41. yeah it's 10C here in Kelowna right now. Nothing like -2C in Winnipeg, especially when the sun goes down. Last year was pretty pretty freaking cold, and I hope it's even colder this year. VAJ will be running for the space heater after getting 2 and outs as fast as possible, kind of like Kevin Glenn in Calgary back in 2006...lol...

  42. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get bad VA next week. He’s always been so unpredictable. He was scary good yesterday but I’m thinking even if he’s on, we’ll have a plan for him. I hope includes pressure.

  43. Was working out with Johnny A this morning.....so was talking shop with him...picking at him about the injuries.....for most part we fine, but I wanted to zero in on Schoen and Bailey.....he obviously was pretty tight lipped for the most part....tho when we got into specifics, he smiled...laughed....siad guess you will see at the game sunday eh? My vibe is Bailey will be good to go....Schoen right now 50/50 but...was CGY defence and they pretty suspect in a lot of areas, and having to be on field cause the Offence could hardly sustain anything didnt help Our secondary is a different beast tho....and our receiving group is worlds better and will exploit that BC secondary...again....CGY kinda was, and if not for some bad drops again....the game could have been totally different We come out...establish the ground game...which we will...and wear down those BC lineman again... and ZC just has to be patient and not force anything...wont need to

  44. I want a repeat of that BC game blowout for the next 2 games. I don’t want there to be any doubt who’s winning the game. These nail biting games are not good for my ticker.

  45. Only thing that concerns me is the Bailey and Schoen injuries. If we were at full health, I'd be very confident for next weekend....

  46. OK folks, have done my part to spur the Bombers on to victory. Just bought 2 tickets to the Jets game against Dallas. Never mess with a streak. This will be my 4th double-header. The prior 3: Oct. 19/91 - Bombers beat the Ti-Cats 68-14, Jets beat the Leafs 4-2. Oct. 22, 2011 - Bombers beat the Alouettes 26-25, Jets beat the Hurricanes 5-3 Dec. 5, 2021 - Bombers beat the Roughriders 21-17, Jets beat the Leafs 6-3. Perfect record so far.
