  1. a legit halftime act with real music being played is so refreshing

  2. Said it all year and it happened in the biggest game of the year. We sat a guy out in Rose to play a cripple who could barely move when we had an adequate replacement. The loyalty in our roster management was disgusting this year and it didn’t show any truer than in our final game of the year. Was excited that Bighill could go but let’s call it what it is - there was absolutely no reason he should’ve been out there tonight. Rose to back up Parker sounds pretty good right about now.

  3. He ain’t it anymore. If the cost is letting Dru Brown walk, we need to make sure we don’t pay it.

  4. Outside looking in: 1) Clarify Walters' situation as the man in charge of the next evolution, ASAP. 2) 2 years remaining on 600k/yr is a spicy meatball. Particularly if being back in the GC next year or more particularly the following year when you host is the goal. I think you have to cut bait. We'll see. 3) Ruthlessness. This roster is overdue for some pruning. Seeing a few familiar names go can hurt. Time to be cruel-to-be-kind (in the right measure). 4) Not a disaster, but worth noting that being out-adjusted at HT in the GC is a bad trend. Evolution happens to coaching staffs too. Tough beat, guys. Sucks to play your worst in the most important game of the season. Ask me how I know.

  5. Ok let’s settle down now. Going to four straight Cups isn’t a fluke. We just don’t finish when it matters.
    9 points
  6. of course it is, we're sitting here bitching that we've only won 2 grey cups in 4 straight appearances and have 3 straight first place in the west finishes. What we got here are first world problems.

  7. I think it speaks to the "player's coach" mentality. But also speaks to do your damn job the same way you're asking the 12 guys lined up on the field to. Sometimes that entails a tough conversation with a guy who has given you everything he's got. Goal is a win for the team. Doesn't matter who's out there for it. You can't always preach the "0-0" this week, "next man up" stuff and then be that weak in terms of doing your job to have a team ready to play in a game like this.

  8. I was also 100% against it but how many more playoffs are we going to be in with a QB who barely shows up

    I love you all.

Heartbreak only matters when you aren't a casual. We aren't a casual fan base, we don't abandon our team when **** hits the fans. A lot of you are veterans of the 29 year plague, and know that the heartbreak last night stings because we love our team and province. I am grateful to be a part of a fan base like ours that cares, is committed, and loves our team We didn't become obnoxious pigs with success like the rider fans did, and we didn't abandon our team to half empty crowds when the going got tough like whats happening in Alberta. I tried to get this message across last night and maybe it was too soon or too poorly written. The raw emotion of last nights loss stung. But I want you to know that to all my fellow Bomber fans, you should keep your head high because you're part of something bigger than all of us individuals, greater than the sum of our parts. Our profession is Blue. We will be back next year and I can't wait. Enjoy the off season and I love and appreciate you all and I will always be Winnipeg no matter where I am.

  12. Faj running to get 13 of those 18 yards back to set up their 3rd and five was a kick right to the nut sack. Shoulda never happened. Too many spectators on that play would be my guess.
    7 points
  13. I've said what I said about Zach and I'm fine with it..... but this is really true. When we sacked Faj to get to 2nd and 18, that should have been the end of it. The fact that we let them not only get out of that 2nd and 18 but score a major from it? That's ******* embarrassing for our entire defense and if not for that, we'd be having WAY different conversations today.

  14. Forget Gauthier. The real question should have been would Wilson or Clements or Cole have broken up that pass? Maybe. Gauthier can remain a teamer and occasional rotational guy thanks.

  16. Yeah it's never going to be on one specific factor. But when you look back and we have multiple guys rostered to do almost or literally nothing but two other rush ends, another 3 tec DT there that compliments Walker perfectly wearing their sweat suits you might go "HOLY HELL WISH WE HAD THOSE GUYS IN THE 4TH QUARTER!" Some coaches might think that would be more useful than Greg McCrae in a parka over his uniform in a playoff game.

  17. Ambles I bet would have made a huge difference and gave Lawler more room to do his thing....Even in WF....We dressed Mcrae...who isnt a receiver in lieu of Ambles when Schoen couldnt go...then parked him on bench all game...like wtf was that? Also the none use of Bailey in the run game...or the crossers he did, and same with Demski showed they were not comfortable with them taking a heavy load, and yet still didnt roster another true receiver or actually use one we have...Bolo if actually utilized would be very effective. Our offence the last 3 games has been a shell of what we have done and were successful for solely because roster issues and not having the horses to actually help it out. Same on defence...last several games we barely seen Bennet or Thomas on the field...thankfully but we over used the Jeffs and Walker /Lawson....No dline is gonna be dominant with 90 percent of snaps between 4 guys all game..game in and game out....and especially when we saw how effective the Wilson/Cole/Clements/gauthier use was when Biggie went out in WF....to not roll with that...against a similar QB...one with less passing skills than VA and not bring on Fox for Biggie and Haba for Jackson was just inexcusable...And what happened with Hansen...I didn't even see him on defence today.....Yanking Rose for whatever reason also in a big game...well last 2 games was foolish...vet leader who has seen it all...and has always came up big in play-offs, and played just fine all yr...why?...Cause they got swayed by 7 picks, but overlooked the busted converges and huge gains against all year...and the worst tackling on the team??...When Rose is actually excellent in run support or coming in to tackle on that short crap we all knew the Faj would use.....just stupid roster use If we wanna hang the goat horns on anyone it should be square on the head of our HC....as he put this together, and was a culmination of poor use and decisions all yr, that finally came home to roost at the worst possible time...we escaped a lot of L's during the year, despite it....but I said all along...u let it continue and we'd be sorry....feeling pretty sorry now I bet which would have been again...a piss poor roster decision....cause it would have been Mcrae we were

  22. 1 collaros. Didn’t play well enough to win 2 hall idiotic blitz calls that cost us the game 3 mos roster management. No extra cover db, terrible punter, not pulling Zach, Jackson, playing biggie, no dl rotation, not starting Eli at c. Onside punt too lmao. dishonourable mention to buck for calling about 1/3 of a good game. Houston’s poor tackling too. Brady lawler Demski holm Eli gauthier Jackson Cole wj and grant played well. Gauthier especially. Biggie and kyrie were not in our top 3 best lbers tnite. Points to roadhouse for gutting out a tough one.

  23. Yeah, so we’re playing a very obviously compromised Schoen over healthy options like O’Leary orange or Ambles. Go read the Winnipeg free press today and look for the quote where Schoen essentially says, “I can’t think of any other coach who would put someone who’s hurt in for a championship game after six weeks of no practice”. yeah, Dalton, neither can I.

  24. 1. It was a fumble. 2. Their horrid punter shanked it out of bounds and we weren't much worse off. The real problem was doing nothing with it.

  27. I hear you, but save the platitudes right now man. We’re all going to hear this all day today. We all know there are more important things in life. Most, if not all on here, are lifelong fans of this game. We love the Bombers because our fathers, mothers, grandparents, whoever. We love the game because someone we cherish loved the game before us. For better and worse, we love the game and the team more than the average fan, and everyone on here gets why. We spent nearly 30 years dreaming of something, and are now having it agonizingly ripped away in slow motion. Sometimes even by the very people who were meant to deliver it. We were collectively slapped in the face last night in so many ways. I (and possibly others on here too) am also personally dealing with the slow realization that a single television network is completely ruining the game I love. This place right now is for us to vent and hurt with others who truly get it.

  28. I just don't understand how Ritchie Hall came in with such a piss poor offensive game plan. He knows what Fajardo can and can't do.

  29. I don’t feel vindicated at all. I would’ve rather sat here listening to Noeller and TrueBlue4ever tell me what an idiot I am for ever questioning anything our team did. Feels like ****, man. Is it exactly what I dreaded all year long? Pretty much. We fostered a sense of complacency and just coasted on by thinking we didn’t need every single roster spot in order to win games. I hope our front office takes a long, hard look in the mirror tonight because quite honestly as much as they’re gonna sit here and say all the right things, what they did really was a slap in the face to the fans. You can’t expect to win it all when you openly handcuff yourself and then treat everyone else like they’re the dumb ones for pointing it out.

  30. Thing is he wasn't THAT good in the regular season. Cracks definitely started to show and he was a lot more hit or miss. Father time is unbeaten and collaros might be at the end of his time as a top tier guy. The comeback was amazing but....

  31. I went basically my whole life without seeing the Bombers win a Grey Cup until 2019, and my kids have only seen the Bombers win or play in them. There will be change and this is likely the end of an era. But I'm going to take a second and just reflect on the amazing run that this team had. I am so appreciative to pretty much everyone involved in the organization. Management, coaches, players...they've put so much into it. Winning Grey Cups is just difficult.

  32. We are all angry and hurting but I gotta speak up on this one. The Bombers have been consistently great for the past three seasons and very good before that. Obviously blew it twice in the Cup games but overall they have been one of the best teams in the league consistently.

  34. The teams that keep rolling make these decisions is all I will say. I fear we won't even have a second thought on it for QB and a lot of positions held by vets. Dru Brown looked pretty damn good, nearly perfect, running the same scheme this year. I think we have much bigger roster issues that need management, and that is telling some of the guys who were on the field tonight but contributing almost nothing, injured or not, that we are moving on. My easy list: Bighill, Alexander, Hardrick. Yeah it's hard for all of us because we never won until this group in our lifetimes. But if we want to keep winning we need to smarten up. We are dressing guys who aren't CFL football players whether that's due to base skill level, age or injury in a ******* Grey Cup game. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

  46. I dont feel vindicated either, as I would rather eat crow, but I will also say I told you so...I took barbs all yr, but seen this song and dance before, and the longer it festered...I knew it would become a huge issue. I'm more pissed because it didn't have to be as so......and that they allowed the complacency to continue because the win's glossed over a lot of the little issues....and yeah they were little, but at the same time huge, but easily fixed....and we didn't I like Osh as a coach, but he needs to evolve a bit, and also put his stubborn personal biases to the side for the better of his team, and sometimes not be the buddy, but the guy who makes the hard decisions even tho its the tough one

  48. All year collaros has been underthrowing deep balls. He had 2 easy touchdowns if he leads his receivers. Instead one was an interception and another knocked away. He doesn't handle pressure in the pocket well anymore either. He ran himself into several sacks. Guy has been figured out at this point. If not for Brady dragging this team along it would have been obvious earlier.
