  1. Rare... but Friesen is 100% correct on this one...

  3. Exactly. Biggie hobbling around only to get absolutely torched was on coaching. Brutal decision

  4. After the benefit of two days hindsight, giving up a 30 yard pass on 3rd and 5 against Cody Fajardo to lose the Grey Cup is about the single dumbest thing I can think of. I can't believe the team put themselves in that situation and I hope they wear the cone of shame all winter for it.

  7. Unpopular take: Trashing Fajardo is a very bad look right now. He came in as a massive underdog. Rallied his team around him in classic "us against the world and F them anyway because they all hate us" fashion. He went 81%, 290 3&1. With everything on the line, he rushed 13 yards on 2nd and a mile. On 3rd and 5 he went for 31 and followed that with a GC winning score for 19 yards on the next play. Bash him all you want, but you can never say that he didn't execute the epic dream of any kid who ever picks up a football to the letter.

  8. If he leads Demski and throws to the cone....only Demski gets it and its an easy score....or down at around the one....missed opportunity

    I love you all.

It's a tough pill to swallow. I'm going to be dodging tsn again, haven't once watched highlights from last year's Grey Cup and I won't watch this one either.

  10. Fajardo played well, but hell.......a major problem is that we got out coached big time in that one......

Heartbreak only matters when you aren't a casual. We aren't a casual fan base, we don't abandon our team when **** hits the fans. A lot of you are veterans of the 29 year plague, and know that the heartbreak last night stings because we love our team and province. I am grateful to be a part of a fan base like ours that cares, is committed, and loves our team We didn't become obnoxious pigs with success like the rider fans did, and we didn't abandon our team to half empty crowds when the going got tough like whats happening in Alberta. I tried to get this message across last night and maybe it was too soon or too poorly written. The raw emotion of last nights loss stung. But I want you to know that to all my fellow Bomber fans, you should keep your head high because you're part of something bigger than all of us individuals, greater than the sum of our parts. Our profession is Blue. We will be back next year and I can't wait. Enjoy the off season and I love and appreciate you all and I will always be Winnipeg no matter where I am.

  12. Didn't Bighill leave the CFL for New Orleans, and then instead of going back to BC, he came to Wpg instead? Right before Training Camp...

  13. Might not have been the wisest decision to cut Agudosi a month before the playoffs if they weren't confident his replacements were capable of stepping in when needed. The more I think about this "name on the cup issue" the more I believe O'Shea used it as a factor in determining his game time roster.

Now that I think of it......you're right! This cup loss wasn't on a terrible defensive game, this one is all on @SpeedFlex27. I'll get the pitch forks and torches, you get the kerosene....he leaves the village today.

  15. We had 100 opportunities to win that game. Brady doesn’t fumble, Zach doesn’t throw a pick, we don’t run the clock down with a 4 point lead and 7 minutes to go, we don’t all out blitz fajardo on the td pass, etc. the fact that we again, for the second year in a row came one play short in the gc with soo many chances to win is 100% coaching. With better coaching this game would’ve been a laugher. Like the two previous times we played mtl this year. Mtl adjusted we did not, then we didn’t adjust to their adjustments. Roster management is just one aspect of the Meta problem, coaching.

  17. I have no doubt we were banged up at receiver but we had guys we could have used instead. Did BOLO even see the field? Ambles was brought in for this exact scenario and wasn't dressed. Grant started the game at receiver but I didn't notice him there after that. The options were there and we chose not to use them. The decision to let these all these guys play in their condition was a failure of the coaching staff and the players themselves.

  18. I give him credit for the game he played - but it doesn't change his career up to this point or what you can expect from him in the future.

  19. Cole was actually a EDM foolish cut we scoped up But really we didnt do anything until we flushed our PR and then grabbed Ambles...There been some talk that Osh was pulling most the strings this yr, for some reason, and it showed...He stuck with some "his" guys and we didnt do anything to address any issues all year...Returner...End...DT....and some of us even commented it's been awfully quiet on the GM front and player issues all yr, and truthfully if Osh is gonna continue to have a strong say, or be "the" say in who we bring in...keep...roster...we are hooped.....feel free to flame away on that comment but you just saw the end result of him not having to answer to anyone this yr...and it was epic flop...fail

  22. We've brought no one in. NO ONE in 2 years. There have been free agents we could have signed but didn't. LIke WTF??? Once he left, we became soft again like we were in 2016. Our D is no better than what we had under Ritchie Hall 5 or 6 years ago.

  23. Tui Eli isn't going anywhere, he is under contract through 2025, he's plainly been the heir apparent since the day he was signed. Kola's contract is expiring. It seems obvious to me Eli is getting the job at C barring any unforeseen extensions or FA signings. It's been the plan for a while it seems to me

  24. meh... that play aside, I'm more than happy with Lawson and what he contributes.

  25. Actually I didn’t miss that part. I know that Osh’s players love him for that. I just don’t agree that that’s how a coach makes decisions about who gets to play. Players love him for his loyalty and that’s why players want to come here and stay here. That’s a good thing. But when that loyalty is dialled up too high it becomes too much of a good thing. Strength tips into excess. And this excess leads him to start 2 injured players who have no business being on the field. Two players who ultimately compromise our ability to win. And that is not a good thing. Finally, let me be absolutely crystal clear - I do NOT blame Dalton Schoen or Adam Bighill. Of course they want to play! It is the coach’s job, however, to balance that sense of loyalty with realism… To make those hard decisions that actually give us the best chance to win versus give him the greatest chance of being loved in the moment. And I know O’Shea‘s philosophy is that ultimately his brand of loyalty pays off in the long run. But I think his practice and philosophy lacks balance and yesterday it cost us again.

  26. Two under-the-radar players they must retain are Walker and Lawson, too much invested in their progress and no obvious replacements for their skill level currently on the roster to let them walk away.

  27. I hope the Bombers scrub their website clean of those smarmy bullshit videos with the soul stirring music and burn them in hell. If Ed Tait ever approves of **** like that again, I'm going to hunt him down like a Newfie in wild pursuit of a Harp seal!!!

  28. Let's put it this way... if you told anyone on this site, pre-game, that we would score 24 points and the Als would not score on D or teams.... 100% would agree that's a guaranteed Bomber victory

  29. They should have done a 'Shoresy'... Call out each players name then say 'You ready', 'Your going'.

  30. it was all very very very lazy. I, too, was disappointed. It goes to the lack of respect the network has for the league and its fans.... and the fact that they won't put the biggest game of the year on CTV is the icing on the cake. Some sort of arrangement that involves multiple networks would help a lot...

  31. Roster management or not, and this is absolutely undeniable, we were in fantastic position to win that game if we simply don`t let Fajardo beat us on a last minute drive. Guys on here can scream until they are blue in the face about coaching, or Zac`s play, or roster management and none of that mattered at that point. None. It came down to poor coverage to allow a 30 yard gain on 3rd and 5, and to let CoFaj scamper for 13 the play before. All the other **** is just white noise as to why we lost that game. It was there for the taking and our D crapped the bed in the final minute. We allowed a CoFaj offence to drive 83 yards to win that game. Biggie cost us nothing in that drive, nor did Zac, the receivers or anything else. Just people trying to set their agendas now by overlooking the obvious fact that our roster, no matter how banged up, was good enough for 59 minutes of that game and our own mistakes lost us that game. It hurt us, but it is not why we lost. We still could have should have and were in position to win that game. I guess we can all second guess now, but is Ambles on a couple weeks learning curve better than Bailey or Schoen at 80%, is BOLO better than Demski at 80%....pretty easy to pick the carcass now but I am not sure I make a different decision receiver wise. Biggie was the big mistake because Clements had clearly demonstrated he could fill that gap easily if Biggie wasn`t absolutely 100.

  32. yeah.....the loyalty factor can only go so far.....Those decisions to play injured players hurt this club in the most important game of the year.....The coach will have to wear that one

  33. I can guarantee you if you asked MOS in hindsight would he have made the same decision in starting AB and DS, he's answer would be: 'Absolutely without hesitation.'

  34. That segment before the game where they literally focused on every player on each team and spewed what amounted to "here is this guy...he is looking to have a great game today...here is another guy who also does things that are good sometimes...". It was cringe.

  35. and their pre game production of what they showed was garbage too...half of it was just repeats of what they offered up during the week....The CFL needs to go and market themselves to some competition who will put some legit effort into their product....TSN has got sloppy and lazy with the idea they have exclusivity...If you can get the same $$ value or more with 2...3 different Networks, who are able to be seen by any household in Canada...You go get that

  36. If only we had capable backups the coaches were willing to play instead! We literally tried to "Weekend At Biggie's" our way through a Grey Cup.

Thanks for a great season guys. This website and our bombers has been my most visited site since I was 14 years old. I'm 31 in January! I've grown up ( and continue to) grow up with a lot of the same posters since I signed up almost 17 years ago (wow!) Sorry just surprised myself typing that out. Anyway in my rambles what I meant to say is through the debates, differences, and strong personalities, this website has been a staple of my childhood and adult hood. There will be another bomber grey cup in the future. I have a feeling well be back soon I'll see you all during free agency. Taking some time away from the emotional roller coaster that is our beloved football team

  39. I wouldn’t mind it, I’ve always liked his game. Though he’d probably run us 100k. If we could draft a guy like him for half I’d be thrilled. If we can’t and sign a guy like him I’d be happy. Well worth saving a roster spot. Especially a di.

  40. Yup. And further - since the covid season in 6 playoff games ZC has just 4 TDs and 8 INTs. 1:2 TD:INT. Unacceptable for a rookie, never mind the highest paid player in the league.

  42. We needed a dominant nose tackle ALA Oakman all year and that was very, very evident in the Grey Cup game. Further, if Walters cannot score a NI fullback who can block, run and catch the odd pass, it will be a big black mark against him.

  43. C'mon Noeller, Fajardo threw for 290 yards & 2 touchdowns & made some great throws. He didn't throw a lot of picks & was a very good game manager. If he had played for anyone other than the Riders, fans would be happy for him. It's time fans here gave the guy credit where credit is due. He reminded me of Sean Salisbury when we won the GC in 1988 coming out of nowhere at 9-9 as the third seed in the East. Salisbury knew his limitaions & played within them game managing the Bomber offense letting others make the big play. He beat Hamilton in Hamilton, then the Argos in Toronto at Exhibition Stadium & a BC Lions team in the GC in Ottawa led by Matt Dunigan.

  44. O'Shea will throw a wrench in all of this by keeping most of his veterans.

  45. I laughed earlier in the season when O'Shea said they were adjusting their kicking and coverage schemes and were close to figuring it out. That was BS by him then as it is now.

  46. Outside looking in: 1) Clarify Walters' situation as the man in charge of the next evolution, ASAP. 2) 2 years remaining on 600k/yr is a spicy meatball. Particularly if being back in the GC next year or more particularly the following year when you host is the goal. I think you have to cut bait. We'll see. 3) Ruthlessness. This roster is overdue for some pruning. Seeing a few familiar names go can hurt. Time to be cruel-to-be-kind (in the right measure). 4) Not a disaster, but worth noting that being out-adjusted at HT in the GC is a bad trend. Evolution happens to coaching staffs too. Tough beat, guys. Sucks to play your worst in the most important game of the season. Ask me how I know.

  47. I can't believe it either. how does it feel to be right for once?

  48. Bighill was unplayable with his injury. I can understand bringing Schoen out there with a snap count and for specific situations, and he did well in those situations as a clutch second down converter. But the roster decision of Bighill over Rose or Haba/Fox, and then having him out there in the second half covering a slotback instead of having Cole or Clements do it was in my opinion the biggest blunder. Gauthier was noticeable in a very good way compared to a hobbled Bighill.
