  5. That Stronson guy thinks he's some insider....he's a complete turd.... Who knows the how and the what in the negotiations and all are different....Just because Buck went to the final stage with another guy...whom seemed to take second place "by all accounts" doesn't mean he didn't get to the final stages and then decline...And I am standing by that...and maybe the Bombers stepped up..added an Ast HC title and a few extra scheckles...thats my take...call it a spin....whatever floats the proverbial boat but I have on good authority....which I know to not be here say...that He didn't want to leave but would listen, and it would need to be the right, and ideal place...and obviously it wasn't....and the mess that is the Riders was prob another reason to wait this out here

  7. you can say what you want about 3DN (...and I will...) but Dunk is generally pretty reliable. When Dunk says Mace is out of the running and it's going to be Pierce, they're just negotiating a contract...... and then out of nowhere it's Mace...?? That leads me to believe Buck turned them down at the last minute and they had to double back and beg forgiveness. I also fully believe that Wade "did whatever he had to do..." to keep Buck around. If you have ever listened to any of the various Buck episodes of Handled Internally, Darren Cameron tells a good story about when Buck almost went to the Riders as an assistant after he was done playing...... and how they "worked it all out" during a Jets game, to make sure Buck didn't leave. From Wade down, they LOVE Pierce, and do not want to see him in The Gap.

  8. I know you're on this whole thing about how Osh isn't that important and is just a product of the people above him...... but the reality is that the 3 are apparently in total lock-step and have been since the beginning. They all apparently believe the same things, and with Osh and Walters, in particular, they've been extremely close friends going back to their playing days (great stories from Walters on the Handled Internally podcast). So I really don't think Osh is this interchangeable piece that anyone could fit into..... he's extremely important, as are the other two. A really good example of their similarities.... someone mentioned a couple days ago about Osh and his wife staying late after the 2021 GC "parade" at the stadium and picking up garbage...... then you have Wade, before that year's West Final, in the bleachers, shoveling out snow before the game because we'd just had a blast of it the night before. That's just such a good encapsulation of how all of these guys are the exact same personality..... they're "hands in the muck", whatever it takes to get the job done...... kinda guys. So I guess all I'm saying is, the stuff you're hating on Osh for, I'd be surprised if the other guys weren't in agreement with him..... because they've shown to be the same in virtually everything since the beginning.

  9. I certainly believe Wade was attempting to make it difficult for Buck to leave.

  12. I remember an interview OSH gave with the media after LaPolice was re-hired in 2016. It was noted that he had two former head coaches on his staff now, and didn’t that cause him some concern for his job (especially after the bad 2015 season and more than a few fans calling for his head) that there were two ready replacements to step in easily and take over, as opposed to hiring underlings at co-ordinator who weren’t a threat to his job security? His comment essentially was that it was the opposite - he wanted the best minds possible and the most experience possible, and the best thing for his job security was to surround himself with the smartest and most competent people around to help him so that the team could be the best it could be, rather than sabotage the team success by hiring lesser people out of some misguided need to protect himself. THAT, he said, was the quickest way to find himself in the unemployment line. He wanted the best collection of ideas working with him and challenging him to being the best product out on the field, and it would be silly to be intimidated by it and try to silence that input and ignore that creativity in the hopes that it would give him a safety net for his job.

  14. I don't think Michael Ball has any constituency to pander towards, even Rider fans think he is a grade A tool....and that's a tough thing to pull off. Today is a pretty awesome day to be a Bomber fan. Buck tells them he'd rather be a coordinator in Winnipeg than a HC in Regina. Life doesn't get any better than that. I mean how bad of a sink hole does a team need to be when a guy won't take a promotion and a 200k salary bump to go there. Two words...TIRE FIRE.

  15. that guy is the biggest clown on there...and a majority just cling to his every word...or if in doubt ask what he thinks...hahahaha.....blind leading the blind....in a dumb vaccum

  16. It's a game of inches, you are viewing fatigue as being too tired to get out there... it can be as simple as that one step slower. Fact is our star players are on the wrong side of 30 and the best this D played was with heavy rotation on the defensive line. Fatigue is absolutely a factor. I don't know what more evidence you need to see.

  19. Ballsy is so terrible at his job. Mace is the HC. I thought Petersen was an embarrassment but Ballsy is so bad.

  22. The bigger issue here is it exemplifies once again the current climate we find ourselves in. Back in the day this kind of behaviour was quickly, immediately and swiftly condoned and put back under the rock where it belonged. Nowadays, posturing and blithering absurdness is a strategy to get likes and grift money off/build a coalition of people who share similar approaches of what presenting other viewpoints looks like.

  23. Holly crap, Ballsy is having it out with Naylor. He's not making friends within CFL cirlces.

  24. it is EXACTLY what we knew happened.........haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!! I ******* love this so much. Once again, the Riders were left with their pants down and had to double back and beg forgiveness on the guy they told "no thanks..." Incredible. I ******* LOVE Coach Buck so much... it's a bucket list item for me to get out ice fishing with him on LW one day. He's a diehard...

  25. Dunk actually is good, and connected, and when he puts something out there it's 99% fact checked and solid....leads me to believe as well that we cockblocked them and that in itself makes the Grey Cup loss sting just a lil less haha

  26. I am choosing to believe that Buck was doing his Bomber best and trolling the Riders by feigning interest and driving the price up, further crippling them for the future seasons.

  31. I almost thinking he declined when all said and done...As I know he really didnt want to leave....and maybe after 2025 Osh is stepping aside...who knows....but wouldnt shock me And as Walters even said....who would want to leave here?.....

  32. I agree. I have my opinion others have theirs and I don't think anyone is convincing anyone else of anything at this point.

  33. Osh was a huge risky pick...100 percent....But we wanted a culture shift, and thats who Wde and Walters identified as who to best run what they envisioned...They also wanted a fresh face not far removed from today's player as well...which was key..

  34. Rider Stronson lmao. That is about as authoritative as talking to Gainer the Gopher. They lick his boots over there and tend to completely ignore that he is wrong on his insider info about 80% of the time.
    3 points
  35. Whose authority? Yeah, what is O’Shea, like 6 years older than Buck? He could coach for another 10-15 years yet.
    3 points
  36. I agree Pierce, and to a lesser extent Mace, are both very solid up and coming coaches in this league. That's the pool to choose from.

  37. Looks like Buck couldn't convince his wife to upend their comfortable lives and move to Shitbush. He owes her one.
    3 points
  38. Like Walters said in his press conference, the goal when he became GM was to have the same kind of continuity and success that Calgary was seeing at the time. Huffnagel was coach with Dickensen in the wings... we have O'Shea as coach with Buck in the wings. Love the continuity that should keep us rolling to more successful seasons. At least Friesen is right once in a while... he can be obnoxious sometimes (alot of the time), but he's definitely not as bad as Ballsy.

  40. Ballsy AND Dunk both said it was Buck... So I think it was, and then Buck turned them down after thinking about actually having to live in "If Rural Alberta Was A Whole Province"... And changed his mind. Losers had to double back on Mace.

  41. That's the funniest part... goes to show how much of an "insider" he is when absolutely everything he posts is wrong.

  42. Wilson is an interesting one. Larger pigrome Esq guy. Doesn’t have great down field passing ability but better short and intermediate than you would expect for such a dynamic runner who bounced around a lot. tbh you could fix an ol real fast if you flipped ratio real hard. Start 3 ol and run a heavy 6man set full time or 4 with just 5 and things would improve fast. Just no one wants to do that and flip extra WRs, RBs etc to ni. Beat me to it. I think that’s the min but ya. Just poach ex bomber imp ol pr guys that’s what most of the league seems to be doing lol.
    3 points
  43. Yep. I"d say the Riders need to go with 3 imports on the OL, like the Bombers did not that long ago. But who's going to find good ones? Sure as cuss not O'Day.
    3 points
  44. and to correct that immediately will take big dollars....raping other areas of the team...and thats only if any quality top notch o-line guys make it to FA...and that in itself is rare....and Oday has shown he has no clue in drafting any, or finding any imports...Adding a new HC and a QB with potential...but not proven by any stretch isn't turning that turd around
