  1. The guy is a pro qb. Fajardo beat us. Get used to it. He also gets paid to win. Some of us here sound like whiners.

  2. I feel like many here just too heavily discounted Montreal's passing offense. Even with Fajardo they have tons of useful receivers and use them to their strengths. Mack, Philpot and Snead are really good.

  3. Can we get the mods to replace the word Fajardo with Daddy everytime Noeller types it? 😈

  4. CFL needs to get families back into the stadiums, lower tickets, better game day activities and less drunks would help

  5. It mattered in the east final too and faj was ****. Just because Ritchie Hall fell and hit his head while preparing the game plan doesn't change a damn thing about fajardo as a quarterback.

  6. I will always view the last Cup game as a 'we beat ourselves' with poor decisions, and roster wise and 'not up to par' play calling loss...IF we had played up to our potential we would have notched our 13th Cup win....and Faj would still be the same qb. we all know he is

  7. Not whiners. He won sure, and the Bombers defense should feel great Shane for that. Faj still sucks though. Dumb qb with a shitty arm. Give him broken plays or one read and he can do some things but the second you make it hard he fails. Ritchie Hall really let the team down in the Grey Cup. Blitzing isn't how you beat him, if you simply make him hold the ball past his first read he will find some defender to run into.

  8. Wasn't just that game, he played decently in a few games down the stretch, threw some nice passes too. Given a good game plan and some decent weapons, Fajardo can be reasonably effective.

  9. yes.....we need to get 'younger'

  10. Fajardo is crap but he was better than Zach. So that means we lost because on that evening, Montreal was the better team. Better on O, better on D. Replay the game and the Bombers probably win. Replay it again maybe the Als do, maybe the Bombers do. It is what it is. We been to 4 straight cups, we are 2 and 2. Prior to this we had about a 30 year Grey cup drought... Not sure why all the fuss. Bombers class of the league, yup we lost the final game but I'll take that over Mack Buchko Kelly Daley reinbold etc But a discussion board needs to discuss or it becomes ourbombers.com so fuss away... training camp is months away

  11. No doubt. If the media really honestly assessed the Riders right now they would have big problems with revenue.

  12. Back to back 6 and 12 seasons followed by raising ticket prices is poor marketing on the Riders part.
    2 points
  13. CFL media needs to give hope to all fan bases in the offseason for the health of the league. You won't find too much honest assessment in the offseason. Season tix sales are down by 35% over last year in Rider land. I hate the Riders but that's not good for the CFL.

  14. That seems to be exactly what they did late in the season for a number of players invited to TC next season, they brought them in for a tryout during the last bye week, took a quick look and sent them home.

    Game 23: vs Bedard

I have never heard a single negative thing about Bedard from anyone. Strange. The only thing I would say is that the "New McDavid" thing is overblown. The kid is really good and has a lethal shot, but he's on the smaller side and isn't the total package that McJesus is. Still, going to be an elite NHL talent....

  17. See confidence was never fajardos problem. An excess of confidence was. He believed the smoke the rider media blew up his ass. That's why he was such a whiny ***** about struggling. He legit thinks he's a star qb. He's never going to be a smart qb and he's never going to have an arm that scares anyone.

  18. That's on our DC for playing the defense he does. And on our HC for his roster decisions. No one will be held accountable, though. I'd really like to see Ritchie ride off into the sunset & promote Jordan Younger to DC.

  19. What galls me the most about that loss was that a retread, mediocre quarterback who spread failure everywhere he went did it to us. Had it been Adams, I would have been much more at peace. And I do not hate Fajardo- I hate that he was allowed to win.

    Game 23: vs Bedard

You know i don't get the hate on Bedard ,great young Canadian player, i guess it is all the hype, saw him booed in his opening game on the road, never seen an 18 year old generate so much hate. Envy i guess? Hope he has a great career becomes one of the great ones....

  21. Our players didn't suddenly turn old and tired when they landed in HAM, yet virtually the same roster of old tired players with limited rotation put BCs season to bed with little to no sign of fatigue a week before. Our redzone turnovers were incredibly costly and it's a big stretch to blame them on fatigue. Our stars failed to execute all at once. So many points left on the field.

  22. I was a big April Wine fan. This is such a huge loss. The guy was a Canadian Icon. Whenever we talk about the 70's rock music, April Wine was front & center. Myles Goodwin had such a distinct voice. Rest in Peace., Myles Goodwyn.

  24. Worst pro franchise in the history of pro sports. A truly remarkable amount of losing in more than 100 years....

  25. And if the Bombers had ended up winning, he would have still played a decent game. The guy passed for almost 300 yards.

  26. No. It's a team game. CF didn't beat us. Mtl's team did. CF contributed for sure but wasn't the primary reason. Yes CF is a professional football QB but he grades out as average at best supported by stats. That's not whining.

  27. I have just taken a look at the latest dung, turd down is serving up....My gawd I have never seen so much arse kissin' of the rider brand and fan base, in a very long time.... Apparently Corey Mace is the second coming and awaiting his crown from King Charles any day now....He has been endorsed by everyone in the league 'apparently' and he'll definitely be taking his greatness to the Cup next year......Geez the articles over there are getting sickening and the pandering is way over the top...Maybe it's because it's offseason and they have nothing else to fill their pages with except this drivel...We never got this much ink even with our two Cups in a row wins....Till the guy actually wins something as a headcoach it's all just so much ballywho and bull$hit

  30. If the NHL ever goes back to the Olympics... Just imagine a line with Nathan MacKinnon, Connor McDavid and Connor Bedard. There's some guy named Crosby too.

  31. I heard he was a great guy, but obviously not much of an eye for talent. You were a man among boys, you got did dirty, it's a crying shame

  32. Here we are running a dive play called a 44Woodie just before someone tapped me on the shoulder and whispered "coach wants to see you, bring your playbook" which of course meant I got cut. This was '97 camp, and I am moving Shonte Peoples (21) the hell out of the way - Ronald Humphries slipping through the gap. Jeff Reinebold was head coach. Might've been Milt's first season too. Camp was in Portage la Prairie. Chris Vargas and Kevin McDougal at QB along with ugh, the late Cody Ledbetter.

  33. On that first goal, not sure what Samberg was thinking putting a soft pass right up the slot. I thought we coached our D men to NEVER do that, unless you have a guy who is VERY open. We just handed them that opening goal, but tightened up after that, good to see Vilardi with the magic hands setting up that Scheif goal.

  34. Would you be comfortable having fajardo as your starting qb? Sun shines on every dog's ass now and then. He avoided being terrible in the Grey Cup while collaros was bad. Doesn't mean anyone thinks fajardo is better than collaros. Was one game.

  37. if ZC gets hurt...and its appearing to be lengthy..Immediately he should be parked on the 6 game and if Strev not signed and still looking for opps...You sign him to starter money and deal with things when and if ZC is readyto be back...lain and simple

  38. I enjoyed DeMelo putting Bedard on his ass there.

  39. They will dump all of them but Crum and Adams. Go after a veteran in free agency/trade. Shiltz and Dolegala would be top of my list if we need a #2 QB of the guys who are pending free agents. Not counting Brown, the rest have no ability to pass the ball at all.

  40. Adams is probably best of bunch...if they dump him I'd welcome him here instantly

  41. "proposed" merger at this point, I believe.... it's apparently caught up in all kinds of snags. Still expecting to have some kind of season in 2024, but right now it's a **** ton of paperwork, apparently.

    The RIP 2023 Thread

had a complicated history within the Winnipeg music scene. He just wasn't cut out for life on the road, though they tried a couple times. Originally a Guess Who member (there was short overlap with both he and Burt in the band together) and he did sing leads on their first national single, a cover of "Shakin' All Over". He eventually quit because life on the road just wasn't for him... stayed around Winnipeg teaching music instead. Later, when Randy was regrouping after leaving TGW, and was working on early versions of BTO (Brave Belt, etc) Chad was one of the first to come on board with him... but unfortunately that didn't last either. Regardless, you talk to anyone who was a part of the scene back then (certainly not me... this is a good 15-20 years before I was born, but I've read all the books...) and he was as talented as anyone going at that time. Winnipeg was just a HOT BED of musical talent back in those days...

  45. Thank you! I've reached out to Scott. I would love to watch that game (any of them really) It means a lot to see dad being remembered. I miss him everyday.

  46. Scott Grant Photography has a great action photo of your father I'm sure your family would appreciate. You should contact him. His photos are online & you can order it. I remember your father very well. He was just a natural as a player. Peter excelled whatever position he played. He was a safety, a corner, a receiver (wingback) & he could run with the ball as well. He also was the Blue Bomber long snapper. At 185 lbs & he did that very well, too. I remember the game in 1972 when he picked off 4 passes against the BC Lions. Your Dad was one of my favourite player's back when he played.

  48. Even Walters is acknowledging that (age) is becoming an issue with them being more expensive as well as injury issues & may overrule Osh on some players by not re-signing them. That will free up money for some new blood as well as Oliveira & Schoen. It's freaking time to shake up the core.
