Kramdi looked awful his first few games as a starter but he really rounded into form nicely and was playing some very good ball at the end of the year. Good signing by the Bombers, his trajectory appears to be going up.5 points

It appears fairly certain (baring injury) that Collaros will be playing in Winnipeg until his contract is up. Given this team's history at the QB position, I don't see how anyone can be firmly on side with letting him go. I mean, you've probably got an eye on the future, and that's fine. But it's pretty safe to say that the Bombers are focused on winning a GC at home, in 2025. ZC gives them the best chance to do that. He's had some bad games, some of which were unfortunately Grey Cups. But that's going to happen no matter who you have behind centre. I think we have the talent on the OL - to get back to kind of protection he was getting when he first came to Winnipeg. The brain thrust needs to start the players who can make that happen. If you're in the position of several other teams around the league, then you absolutely go with a guy like Brown. In Winnipeg, you play the safe card and go with the experienced vet. Just my 'Boltus scarred' 0.025 points -
To me, there's a difference between players would could not live up to their expectations and a player who, due to health issues, didn't get the chance to. We'll never know what Patrick could have done had he been healthy but we know what a healthy Daigle & Yakupov did.4 points

this. Patrick was a really good player for the Wheaties.... injuries just derailed what would have been a productive NHL career. BIG difference between him and guys like Daigle, Yak and PoolParty...3 points

what did he do in that game that was special? That game was Andrew Harris and Chris Streveler and the Defense... People can talk about Collaros playoff performances (and I tend to agree) but this past season, he also started to show a lot of knicks in the armour.... there were games where he just didn't look like himself. Literally throwing the game away. Sure he had a couple really good ones.... tearing BC a new ******* in the second game against them at IGF comes to mind..... but there were more "off" games this year than we've seen since he arrived. There is every reason to be concerned that he's on a downhill slope...3 points

I wouldn’t say Cadwallader is a player on the rise. He’s a high quality special teams tackling crash test dummy. That’s about it.3 points
-
Do you want a great QB for two years? or do you want a potentially great QB for 8-10 years? in a perfect world, we sign Dru anyways but I can’t see that happening. MAYBE if you do something like take a huge risk, sign him to a 3 year deal where you pay him something like 200/200/500 and guarantee as much of the third year as you can, but I don’t think we can pull that off. You’d have to sell him that this is the best place for him and look what has happened to other players who have left in search of the cash, I just don’t see it. Ottawa will give him the bag.3 points
-
dunno...it's not out yet so will get back to you if I see one...but if Jackson is on it eating up a DA spot thats an epic fail if we didnt draft, or find and actual Canadian guy to fill the role via free agency or already on the roster...And if Thomas is back taking reps...another fail....Same with Kolo at center....3 points

Do you still think that is wise if he performs like Dane Evans did when he was in the exact same situation? There is a crap load of risk attached to making Brown our starter. Brown had one great game, one pretty average game, and one alright relief appearance. I think that it is too early to hand him the keys to the franchise when you have the league's best QB already. I want a great QB this year. Too many variables to even start looking beyond two years from now. Collaros is a great QB...FACT....Dru is a great QB....MAYBE or MAYBE NOT. I'll go with the known commodity. Just my opinion. The CFL sees such turnover that I don't think it's wise to look beyond 2 years. I do agree in a perfect world we lock up Brown as well, but it is unlikely to happen. Guess we will have to wait until FA 2026 to sign him as our starter if he works out as one.2 points -
Agreed...but every team has those and needs those. As long as we pay him accordingly. He's not quite there yet, but he is certainly showing improvement and the ability to get there.2 points

Collaros hasn't shown up for a Grey Cup since 2019. Caught lightning in a bottle then. 2020 cup Collaros went 21/32 for 240, 2 TD, 2 INT. Got to OT in spite of him. If Steinhauer isn't a moron and doesn't concede that single Bombers lose. The only difference was he showed up clutch in OT, and yes he deserves credit for that. Garbage in the next 2 cups. This is a get it done league, not barely show up when it actually counts leage. Personally I'm ready to move on2 points -

More like people are looking at this age and some underwhelming post season coupled with the fact that Dru Brown has developed so well and performed comparably to Collaros with the same team. It's a risk, but if you save money at the qb position and can get some assets for collaros and not see a big drop does it make you team better long term?2 points -
Me too. He quickly became my favorite choice for HC/GM to WTF was that in one boneheaded transaction. After watching the likes of studs like Alex Brink/Justin Goltz/Drew Willy I am not willing to throw away the league's best QB because he may or may not start declining if he doesn't age right. Not when hacks like Trevor Harris at 40 are still finding employment because QB ranks are thin around the league. Not by any stretch of the imagination actually, Moving on from ZC carries way more risk than keeping him. WAAAAAY more. It's the CFL, we really can't look past this year at all. Way too many things can happen. In 2019 we started the season with Matt Nichols and ended the season with Zac Collaros as our starter. I doubt anyone saw that coming. We ride with our best bet to win now and IF we need to replace ZC down the line then Walters will have to do his magic once again.2 points

Too bad we didnt Solid depth signing for teams and rotation...but if we can't do better for that position than not sure what our staff is doing other than standing pat and not striving to be our best team He's also 27 next TC so is/was that his ceiling? If so...we def can be better2 points -
This yr will be a semi transition phase so that 2025 is also a semi transition phase where some hefty sms weight is shed to allow us to replenish a few spots via free agency that are immediate upgrades to augment the core. Is ZC part of that in 2025...i sure team thinks/hopes so right now..but 2025 grey cup is 40..41 games away...and a lot can happen between now and then..and interesting things/options can fall in your lap too..making some decisions easier. My only concern and will prob get a lot of backlash is MOS himself and his history and track record now of not giving team beat chance to win game in game out with whom he chooses to keep. ..and whom gets to play2 points

Well, you're not the HC or GM so clearly the Bombers won't be moving on from Zach. It's a qb wilderness out there. Do you see who's available & who we could sign to replace Zach if we traded or released him? Other than Dru Brown (who has only a little body of work as a starter) there's guys like Marcus Fine, Dane Evans, Matthew Schilz & Jake Dolegala. Throw in MBT & maybe Streveler (who isn't a starting qb) & I'll take Zach every day of the week.2 points -

Mitchell is cooked though so it wasn't wrong to move on. Guess it depends on whether or not you think brown is better than maier... which I do personally. Was never impressed with maier. Too much throw short nonsense, didn't threaten a team with anything else. Ideally we can get brown back, but if he leaves and collaros continues to age (and let's not pretend that's not showing signs here) are we left with nothing but an aging star?1 point -

Seems to me that it was our defense that lost the game for us & not Collaros. When we needed a stop we didn't get it. One stop. If anything, it's the defense that needs changes. LIke the interior Defensive line, secondary & another MLB & OLB. The holes are on defense. Not offensively. Hall needs to go but we know that he'll be back.1 point -

Winning starts in the trenches. If a bad team wants to change its fortunes that where you start. Look at Lawler in Edmonton in 2022 or Gino Lewis there last season. Getting production out of one star wideout never helped. Solid linemen on both sides of the ball win games. We started winning in 2015 when our lines began to play better. They aren't exciting picks but linemen win championships.1 point -

Agree. And idk if id hate the annoyance more or love that a Canadian kid had that Kind of success if that actually happen with old belichick. Farhan would be lobbying for over turning the mop awards and getting him a spot in the hall if that happened lol. who is worse, ball, Pederson, farhan or suitor? While I hate suitor when working rider or bomber games, I do respect his genuine passion. Pederson is probably the most decent thing Regina media has going on. Ball is a dumb ass with a small platform. Farhan is a dumb ass with a big platform. I think I like farhan the least.1 point -
