  1. Yeah, its a shame they got rid of off-season mini-camps. I think bringing them back would improve the on field product especially at the start of the season. Another head scratcher is why they havent brought back CFL week especially since the combine is in Winnipeg this year. Its a great marking opportunity lost for the league.

  3. God forbid but if Wade ever retired from the Bombers I think he’d make a great commissioner.

  7. When the chips were down he had a kick blocked. We will never know where that kick would have ended up without the block.

  8. Well then just admit that you nor anyone else can definitively say whether that kick was missed or not. You dislike the guy because of a few misses throughout the year and are projecting that onto the blocked field goal.

  9. Legghio said he hit it good, we saw other kicks in that game start left and finish good so I don't buy that we can tell it was a miss based on the kick traveling what? 5 yards?

  10. Let's say a team has OL issues. A Canadian RB might allow them to start 3 Americans on OL.

  11. Yup....they need a younger visionary type...who's hip to what's going on in the world now Have an asst commish who is an older CFL vet to maintain and guide with culture and history to the youngin

  12. With Schoen it's likely he knows his deal here...may "look" at others to see...and see if we have wiggle room...or if gap is worth it...I sure Lawlr and others have informed him well The range for Schoen is pretty much set...save a buck or 2 here...so expect him back BO....not sure there...I think he believes the RB spot deserves a huge windfall....and it won't happen....well not here

  18. We lost one more regular season game in 2023 than in 2022. We lost the GC by 4 points in 2023 instead of by one in 2022. So, you're saying we had a worse season? That's like Jim Kirk saying to Federation Agriculture Under Secretary Nilz Baris in ST: TOS Episode, "The Trouble With Tribbles", I was not aware Mr. Baris that twelve Klingons constitutes a swarm".

  19. Dunigan is a solid sneeze away from forgetting his name. You can’t judge a kick before it passes the line, especially if you have to kick around an un blocked guy. lol blocked kick isn’t an excuse. Show me clips of guys left un blocked up the middle on plays where the kick makes it. Blaming legs and not the whiff is insane. Feels like our defensive and line identity will change a lot. I think we might see some guys in other unis we wouldn’t expect too. And age/performance reason too. Secondary has to get better.

  20. I guess last thing regarding legs. why are we in position to need a 45 yard fg for the win anyways. Cuz the O sucked. Running grey cup theme the past 2 years.

  21. It's more they don't allocate the time or resources to explore it. If they eliminated one free agency camp, and actually attended an event, where some of the top Aged out Juco....Guys who dont meet DIV I thru III requirements, and have nowhere to display talent....even some the guys who have played nothing but semi pro or senior football right outta highschool, they would come away with a buttload of names, or possible camp invites...Why do you think our former guy Rig's was so successful...he, or he would send an associate to things like this...and not so much knowing them on a personal level....but it helps, but more for training them for combines/tryouts as well as getting some legit tryout looks

  22. When my son played JUCO in Northern Cali, he was the only Canadian on the roster. Most of his teammates were black & came from the Hood in LA, San Diego, San Fran, Oakland, San Bernadino, Sacramento, etc. These kids were dirt poor & went to lousy & substandard high schools so their grades were below the standards needed to play in the NCAA. Most of these kids got horrible SAT scores & could barely finish high school. Their reading comprehension may have been on a Grade 7 level. Don't even talk about math & the sciences. Their socio economic disadvantages were many. Most kids that got into JUCO tried to follow the dream of playing for a 2 year scholarship at a prestigious D1 college to get their NFL shot & that was their only goal. Most, if not all didn't know where Canada was, couldn't name one Canadian city & or even heard of the CFL. Never having being exposed to the CFL growing they didn't know about the opportunities available to them. Most didn't want to come to Canada. I guess they want to go back to the Hood with their gang friends & live the lifestyle rather than take a life gamble & give the CFL a shot. Even though life for them is hard, it's all they know outside of football. I'd be skeptical this would work but having said that, it's at least an idea that is outside the box & we've shown more initiative discussing it than the CFL has done marketing the league or improving scouting in a decade. So, good job at least coming up with ideas to discuss.

  23. I get the feeling this might be a made up example... but even if it was true... It wouldn't surprise me if the Bombers just decided to roll with Dobson, Eli, and Richmond in their places and let the incumbents walk... then draft a couple OL to fight for the back up spot.

  26. I didn't believe it, but I think I'm starting too. Still a lot of unsigned names. Walters either thinks there's a chance he can still sign the big two, or is going to be bringing a lot of new faces to camp (or both).

  27. You might be right about that, I’m not sure. Honestly it might be far more reasonable to have one or two teams host these guys for regular practices, then have them run combine and rookie camp type stuff in other cities. Maybe it’s literally like a pr contract but with the league and would piggy back on that coverage. Some athletic sanctioning bodies are much harder to work with than others. Man and ont are very tough on combat sports I know for sure. I feel like a lot cis kids would really benefit from playing younger super athletic imports. It would be such a huge win for the league even if it developed 2-3 nis a year.

  28. Would def make sense to be a joint US/Can kid thing who have aged out of school, and former draft picks who got cut in camp, but given a avenue to develop, and still have eyes on them could actually in a yr or 2 make an active roster

  35. Walker on a team friendly deal sure...but he needs to actually earn his spot..and be actually challenged...or rephrase that....allow guys a legit chance FOX is the better DT...and if he was gifted a spot like Walker....we'd be feeling pretty good about one the imort DT spots

  36. Definitely....even a league sponsored development roster...guys training ...playing mock games...it's definitely something that would make sense and get oodles of talent infused into the league A lot of these young men are victim of circumstances and poverty and didn't have the ways and means to go to school...or get documents to travel...not necessarily criminal issues...or guys who never completed their secondary education so couldn't attend big time schools even tho had more than enough talent

Yup, rubes that reflect the rich and powerful all the way down to people who can't rub two nickels together. Trump is nothing to me just a gross human being inside out, on his own he's meaningless but its these rubes from so many different walks of life that have been drawn out and emulate him that is real scary and unsettling. When I'm in a bad spot looking at humanity, I think sometimes in terms of progress we're making as humankind, I think of that cliche dressing up a pig with lipstick comes to mind but then thankfully I come across a great human-being that counters it.

  40. So many JUCO guys....who are behind 8 ball for both NFL and CFL opps.....we work with tons in Cali, to get them pro day opps....get contacts for them for Div II....and Div III schools, even interest in Europe....I see guys all time we work with who could be all-stars up here....sadly many don't have paperwork in order to get up here, or to Europe....moreso from coming from rough back grounds, or poor back grounds....or just from not being known since they aged out of highschool and then didnt get an opp anywhere. When Rig's was here we had exchanged names of guys....some guys were seriously looked at...and ended up here in the CFL in some instances...Our current regime tho since he left back for B.C seems to be dropping ball on that super deep pool

  45. Daryl Peter "Moose" Johnston (born February 10, 1966) is an American former professional football player who is currently the Executive Vice President of football operations for the UFL. You were listening to an advertisement and nothing more. It's not a surprise he's going to promote his brand and not give the competition a second of free air time. I would do the same if I were in that position, since you're trying to attract the same talent, especially that higher end talent who could actually play in the NFL one day.
