  2. Maybe I'm drunk ( I am) but anyone else think the jake Thomas signing is 1000% for character and character alone. Dude knows what it's like to be a blue bomber. To me it's interesting that we applaud this organization for having character guys, yet now when we sign character it's upsetting. 4 grey cups in a row guys. We can have our oshea roster doubts. Let's trust Walter's to do his job. If Walter's says Thomas adds value.. I'm behind him 4 GREY CUPS in a row. 2 plays away from winning 4 straight. Man I get the resentment, I do. But Thomas was signed for a reason. Maybe a reason we don't understand yet. We've been given no reason to over analyze yet.. this ain't previous regimens.. My first 28 years of life on this earth we didn't win a grey cup. Now we've been there 4x straight and it seems like a good portion of this board is ready to jump ship like it never happened. I get that we need to be critical but let's reserve that until we haven't made a grey cup lol. Seriously. We were in the conversation to be the worst pro franchise in sports. Everyone hold their horses. These guys know what they are doing We have people on this website ( and I mean this respectfully) who think they know better than the management who has brought us to where we are now. - and to those people who know better. Where are your grey cup rings and why aren't you coaching pro football? It's easy to be critical like friesen when you ain't making the calls.. To winning a grey cup that dodged us for 29 years... shessh man. Do we not remember where we were just a few years ago?

  3. Signing Thomas is like fixing a flat tire by using another flat tire. Nothing changes as we still have a flat tire. Thomas should retire so we can move on. This goes on year after year. Thomas best before date was 2019.

  4. there are several guys on the roster who can long snap....That "excuse" holds no weight And on special teams...he did absolutely nothing....was noit key to any part of it, and he was also on a ST cover unti that sucked all yr long And any one can play that role on offence for 6 to 7 snaps...anyone who has physicality....Again...Jackson did nothing that any Canadian...especially the fullback we had who played it all his life...and was good on teams that we dumped for no reason....Jackson was on roster soley due to Osh's boner he had for him....and we had most canadian snaps for offence and defensive plays...ST does not factor into that so again...that aspect means diddly...No team in league rosters a DA there...no one ever has...and likely no one ever will...as it's an utter waste.....except Osh...plain and simple....cut and dried. And his reps on defence in garbage time were comical bordering on embarrasing....but I sure we gonna get that waste all yr again , at the expense of some talent that could help us

  6. We need every penny to sign some key free agents. So, what do we do? We spend it on Jake Thomas? An old, expensive & OTH DT who should have walked away from the game years ago. A signing like this is such a waste of precious $$$.

  7. Has anyone considered the possibility of a Tim White Jr? Guy has been an absolute super star with a sub par passing game. If someone wants to give Schoen Eugene Lewis money do you think we could go after him?

  8. I believe BO is gone....sucks...good dude...but not end of world....not needed for ratio, and easily replaced....Schoen I think we work it out...If not Coxie in T.O would be a nice piece to go with Lawler..Demski...Woli and whomever is the other guy..Be it Bailey, or one the new guys we signed...even Alston. as far as culture...depth...we have the culture and depth in spades to keep it a factor....so the lack of bringing JT back wouldn't have affected it in the least...G=-Having Strev back even more than off-sets that for locker room leadership/culture continuation....and also too much is being put on finding the "perfect" fit culture wise, and that other good athletes are bad characters...Heck WJ was considered that from outside looking in, but he's one of the biggest policeman in the room to make culture work...If you see a talent or have a chance to bring a guy in...You do it and it will work itself internally...Unlesss you bring a doucher in like Marshall And another point back to Streveler...and this belief/narrative that he couldn't be a legit number 2...let alone number 1....and can't pass. He came here in 2019...with 2 whole yrs of QB experience...total...in his life....did some things...made some rookie mistakes, but was thrown right into the fire at the pro level with basically one TC worth of exposure to the CFL....and now has 2 yrs CFL experience...and won games, as well as 4 yrs of NFL training and exposure....soaking up all he can....I can ell you all you will be rather impressed what he brings now and how he looks...We have a legit 1b guy...who also possess a unique skill set to be used outside of just QB...we have secured the best #2 in the league...and a guy who could start for a piddly 120k base....just food for thought

  9. Do the math. Lawson got a big raise. Thomas has never had any leverage as a free agency. Chances are he’s playing at our price, not his. Very surprised if he’s far above the bare minimum for his spot these days.

  10. For what its worth the Bomber store still has Schoen jerseys but no Oliveiras. I take that as a good sign that Roadhouse will be back.

  11. For sure. That mantle belongs to Nick Marshall

  12. Also signed a big powerful NFL discard....don't see BO gong there...But I see them offering something to Schoen tho..especially with the loss of Mack

  13. Let’s also remember Mos did move on from him, like 4-5 years ago. Then brought him back mid season as an injury replacement. Good likelihood. This fa period is the first time in a long time with soo much concern. Can’t wait for the first week of be over so we know who stays and who goes.

  14. ehhhh... yes we were absolute dogshit embarrassing for a long time.... but it's also an 8/9 team league. There's no excuse to not be in the hunt every single year. The Stamps did basically what we're doing right now, about 10 years ago. Going to the cup virtually every year, but only winning a couple. The expectations have definitely changed......and also, we have been the best team in the league for a long time now (regardless of who hoisted the trophy at the end) and only lost the last two cups by a last second play. Our expectations are much higher than they were before...

  15. I remember people saying they were happy to have won right after 2019 - and they didn’t really care if we won the year after. Now they’re upset we have gone every year since and have only won once.

  16. I'm something of a bright-sider myself. Getting to 4 Grey Cups is an accomplishment in itself. Winning 2 out of 4 ain't bad either. But winning sure does feel better than losing... When people get critical of the Blue it helps to remember they likely suffered through the drought same as the rest of us, and they simply want what is best for the team, the best for winning football games. I'm sure some guys especially fear regression because they don't have another 30 years on this Earth to wait for another championship. Expecting an all-star at every position is silly, but wanting/wishing for upgrades, especially from some of our older and less dominant pieces (Kola, Jake) isn't. I get the disappointment. We all remember what it's like to be a bottom feeder, none of us want to experience anything close to that again any time soon... hence the creeping concern... Thank goodness we have the staff we do... they led us out of the wastes to the promised land, now we are navigating being victims of our own success, but if anyone can do it in today's CFL it's KW and co. TL:DR: Koombaya, praise the trinity

  21. I love the talent. Idk if he’s a fifo guy, don’t have any thing to base it on, but I feel like he wouldn’t be. I’d rather get benett and kongbo. He’s also a really good run stopper at de so even if you roll small inside he can make that work and not be as much a liability in run stopping he used to play some actually, returns two short kick offs in his career. At this point though not much he could do other than fill in for a guard. Interesting indeed. He put up good numbers last year in the usfl. Big guy too.

  22. Really like this one^. Hard to imagine anyone being as explosive as Grant, but this guy is a legit offensive player and has some chops on returns. Could be the overall player they wanted Grant to be. Wisconsin used him lots as a gadget guy, wildcat QB and Rutgers used him as a legit receiver with some of the Jet stuff too.

  23. See I don't even see Sayles as the most over rated db on his own team

  24. Oh no, he is the perfect amount of DB.

  25. Given his temporary switch to wr and then back to qb after his transfer and the missing reps I actually think this course has been the best case scenario. Forced into action as a rookie in a different league and rule set on a very good team, fills in as an option guy in year 2 and does package work which is all new to him as well. Then to the nfl where it’s all focus on passing but with some teams that had high level offences designed around running QBs. When he does take the reins, be it forced into a start or a late season rest game I expect him to flourish.

  26. He is not more over rated than say Demarco Houston...

  27. The only time they beat a team with a winning record was in the playoffs so I think If and it’s a BIG IF Hamilton and Ottawa aren’t dumpster fires, yes Montreal falls off a cliff.

  28. The spotlight on the 2024 season shines directly on Pierce and to a lesser degree, Younger. As a rookie coordinator, JY can be allowed time to grow while still retaining Ritchie’s existing defensive philosophies, without major repercussions. Best case, he puts his own stamp on the D and they respond positively. Buck is well involved in his gig, but this year, he can truly maximize the 2QB rule beyond what most (all) of the teams have at their disposal. With Streveler’s abilities, along with his experience playing our game (and hopefully, a good working relationship with Zach) our playcalling can really change the way we play. Having 2 QBs can be an unusual and unpredictable formation and can put the defence on its heels trying to prepare for the play, especially if your two QBs have different skill sets Will Buck help reinvent our game by utilizing the QB1-QB Hybrid option and more importantly, will Osh allow this to happen?

  30. Marcus Sayles re-signs in BC. Maybe the most overrated DB in the league.
    2 points
  31. Yeah he had great College stats...and there never reallywas a knock on him as a passer....only knock was that he just didnt really play the position until his last 2 yrs of school. He started out here as a legit QB prospect...threw the ball well and all over the field, then his running ability became apparent, and yup...Lapo basically neutered him, and teams saw what we were doing after a few games and basically put him behind the 8 ball....fans and media alike will be really impressed as to what he has become now...He didnt bounce around for 4 yrs as a gimmick guy.....Teams saw what he could do, and possibly be, but again...Behind the 8 ball as he was Undrafted, thus no investment in him whatsoever, and he was a CFL refugee....as dumb as all that is in the NFL it's a reality.....Our gain tho

  34. Thomas at his best was a rotational piece/bottom teir Canadian starter... he is long past his best. Appreciate the hell out of everything he has done for this team but even bringing him to camp is a waste of time. We don't need his passport at the position.

  37. Whatever, bud. I didn’t say he was good at it , I said that he can do it - that is why he on the roster. Obviously he has shown something the others haven’t. Keep crying about our FB in every thread. I think you’re right. $300K seems about where most teams stop. He is arguably the best WR in the league - but you can get two pretty upper level WRs for about the same price.

  38. Posts picture of Cody fajardo lifting the grey cup. Here! lol I bet schoen gets a call from every single team. Chris jones probably offers him nfl back up qb money. Does any one think schoen signs for less than 300k given the market the last few years if he hits fa? Is some one gonna offer him 350k? 400? I feel like we have to be at the ceiling for wr contracts at 300k but I half expect some one to go full mike Reilly. If you’re gonna do it schoen is the guy to pay right? Best wr in the league hands down.

  45. The thing we know for sure is that Toronto really likes Brady. They wanted him two years ago but had to settle for the back up prize instead. But Brady was their first choice. So we know they'd love to have him... But willing to pay through the nose...? Remains to be seen.

  46. If we lost Roadhouse but added Tim White, I'd be ok with that. On Brady to Montreal, they not only brought back Antwi but Walter Fletcher as well. They may not be in the market.
