This team came out and played. Period.” Then Kelly hung up. Irving was speechless. Talk about getting your panties in a ball. The majority of Rider fans... Most people prefer not to comment on stuff like this. Those who comment on a forum, will be in support of the team and the player. It's just the nature of fan forums. But that's not the majority of fans.

Because all they are really good at doing is producing the top end talent. There are some outliers of course, but if you go back and look, most of their talent in the NFL are early draft picks. They don’t really develop the guys who don’t come to them as 4 or 5-star recruits which means I don’t get too excited when I see an Alabama guy come up here.

Best ever and it isn't particularly close. The only person who dominated curling to this degree is Kevin Martin (I just threw up in my mouth...) As mentioned, this is about being with the girls more. She deserves a chance to slow down and just be mom for awhile. The game has changed... you need to be throwing hundreds of rocks every day, and they're playing in bonspiels constantly. It's not just weekends. With travel, it's a week long venture every time. At some point, it's just too much. She has nothing to prove to anyone.

I think what’s unique about the riders is the volume of creeps they’ve had. Even over 10 and 15 years to Trevis smith. Stack them up over that time and compare it to the rest of the league. Athletes especially in football frequently come from bad situations, and are prone to having varied legal issues. Every one has a guy now and then. And some of them are really awful. When it happens on a regular basis with one team though it’s different. In the case of Harris and lawler, we broke the news and acted quickly as an organization. Which never seems to be the approach from the riders. Even when their guy refuses a piss test, accosts the tester and runs away. Kelly’s ass was grass as soon as it happened too, though we were looking for an excuse to can that turd imo.

I’d say this comment didn’t age well, but let’s face it, it was already dead on arrival.

That would be cool. I have met many rider fans and everyone of them good folk who are awesome fans of their team and the CFL in general. This is why I take umbrage when people make sweeping statements about a fanbase.

Yup, she's been doing this, at a high level for such a long time now. It's been 30 years since I first heard about Jennifer Jones - the curler. We went to the same high school (she's a few years older than me so we only overlapped for a year I think) and it was a pretty big deal when she won the junior nationals in 94. Looking at what she's accomplished since then is amazing - definitely the GOAT in my books.

Yes exactly right. An organization can only do so much to control the behavior of their players, however, how they respond and react to that situation is 100% in their control. The Riders have been god awful in those situations and it may hurt some sensibilities around here, but the vast majority of their fan base was totally on board the whole time.

Nor did I. I made a comment that lambasted his team, you know the Riders...the ones guilty of doing this. After that he acted like a chucklefuck and then I let him, and chowder heads like him, know what I thought of them. For the sake of clarity, I do not think that ALL Rider fans are like that. I agree.

I don’t think we have any sex pests like Chad Kelly or any overall assholes, but one of our best players definitely doesn’t make good life choices all the time. Not that it’s an issue, I’m just saying it’s not unique to other teams

Glenn Howard is playing with his son in the Brier and he's old as dust. Jones has been able to play this long because she's smart and consistent. The physical side has definitely caught up to her. The game can grind you down and playing in bonspiels is grueling. I think about it a lot, of why we don't see older players, but I think it's more physical than you think. Also, eventually, you just can't play that much. To be a top team, you need to play a lot, or win everything you do play, which isn't feasible. Jones' career was stretched out by winning the Scotties so often, she didn't have to win Manitoba each year and then they expanded the size of the pool.

It's a civil case. The court is testing if the plaintiff was harmed, if the respondent(s) are liable for that harm, what the damages are and how those damages will be covered.

Dude, it happens all the time in various lines of work. The investigation focuses on policies and procedures. If the company is smart, they hire an outside agency (often a law firm) to conduct the inquiry, which is an employment matter and completely separate from any other civil matter. It's actually the opposite of the tar and feather stuff you're accusing people of, but hey righteous indignation feels so good, right?

That was the focus of the last season of the Rock's show on HBO. Watching Calgary going through now what we went through 20 years ago. Amazing how teams cycle through history, never seeming to learn anything from others or past mistakes. Calgary needs a new facility, so bad.
