If this **** came out about anyone on the Bombers I know I'd react the same way. I don't recall many people protesting Lawler being suspended for his DUI and in fact I think the only thing that saved him in the eyes of most here was his accepting responsibility and trying to make amends.

Given the reaction to the Bombers suspending Lawler when his DUI happened was "good for them for being proactive", I suspect our reaction would be much the same. My wife always says I am divorced from reality, does that count?

This is a rough, rough take. I guess she should have just quit her job 2 years ago because boys will be boys and she wouldnt be in this predicament. I've seen this constantly in management. Kick the can down the road because you are sure the woman is going to tough it out because she doesn't want to be seen as weak or just hope she eventually quits on her own and the problem goes away. There is no doubt in my mind had they extended her contract and changed her role subtlety to minimize her contact with Kelly she would have stuck through with it for 2024 as well, and if this same thing happened in that off season it would be "well why was it so bad now and not in 2022, or 2023, or 2024". This is a tale as old as time and has been happening in pretty much every male dominated industry and then people cry out "why isn't there more diversity in our workplace, why is there so few female applicants or why do they never last" and it's like no **** why. I've fired Software Developers before because they couldn't keep their comments about female co-workers to themselves and the workplace was better off for it.

I disagree on Lofton, with the caveat that I hope someone else is better. Last year, Lofton was actually middle of the pack in the CFL for OTs by PFF. So not stellar, but certainly not a terrible option either. If someone else beats him out in TC, we will be in pretty good shape at RT.

Kelly didn't have much of a reputation to start with.

Not that simple in all cases. Some people (whether others think it's a legitimate reason or not) are financially dependent on that job which puts them in them in a very stressful situation in what to do moving forward.

For one possible answer, see the general (but not universal) difference in reaction to Andrew Harris’ failed drug test and the justification that it was a tainted sample/useless old school steroid no one would take/so minimal in reading it was effectively useless and the corresponding response to Leonard’s test refusal (and therefore unknown what if anything he was on) in Saskatchewan and all the PED Leonard comments.

People who suggest someone might make an accusation like this just for attention blows my mind. To compare an acrimonious divorce to this, which would be very localized, to making an accusation against a very public figure isn't even like comparing two fruits together. No way in Hell that the CFL needs a sexual predator as even a minor player, let alone a star. I have worked with raped women and even my late wife who was a nurse suffered because of this sort of thing on the job. The damage is catastrophic in many cases, and rape has nothing to do with sexual gratification. It is an act intended to humiliate the victim and reduce her/him to an object of powerlessness and utter defeat. Most predators have been victims or vicarious victims but that in no way excuses them from responsibility or consequences.

Best bet...and best roster utilization is to only dress 6 oline guys anyway, so we are set up fairly well for that as it stands.....I sure we will pick up a kid in draft, and this yr hopefully we keep a brawler import who can play gaurd on the PR as opposed to some of the wasted space we carried last yr....If we were to sustain an injury to one of our 4 Canadians we don't have to replace them with another Canadian really...our ratio can be altered quite easily yes....this...
