I've got my fingers crossed that Calgary Stampeders Classics will upload the September 1983 home game vs. Regina. That was my very first live game and the day I fell in love with the Bombers. I grew up rural and had never seen 25,000 people in one place before! Not only that, it was Tom Clements' first game as a Bomber.

My nephew claims credit for alerting Taman to a player in 2005 or 2006. He submitted a question to a weekly column in either The Sun or Free Press, where Taman answered reader inquiries during the offseason or something like that. He asked if Taman was considering signing a recently suspended NFL running back (I think Ontario Smith based on some googling), to which Taman replied in the negative, not in the plans. However, a few weeks later, the team signed the running back! Taman never acknowledged or thanked him for the scouting tip! LOL! Sorry if he's told this story in this forum before, I know he still lurks.

I don't think so. I heard they leave that scent behind so other Rider fans will know they were there. If they were to stop, they would probably need the glands expressed periodically by a licensed vet.

Another nugget. The Argos had a guy named "Granny Liggins", which I would put up there with "Randy Rhino". This was before my time so I have no memory of this season. EDIT - I know we like to crap on TSN but man when you watch these old games you sure miss all of the new technology, like the first down line (so you know if they are even close) and graphics like telling us what the score is more than once or twice a quarter, as well as just telling us what down it is and how many yards to go for a first down. I remember the days when that stuff didn't exist and I also remember having to pay a lot more attention to everything so that you could be informed rather than just lazily relying on technology. I definitely think that while I appreciate being kept informed in real time it has made my brain go to mush a bit when it comes to paying attention to details.

Blaise Bryant. Hell of a back. Wrecked his knee in the second to last game 94. Underrated reason for the playoff flameout that year vs Baltimore. He was a great receiving back that year too, like 120 yards from scrimmage per game type back. Played a couple more years but was busted up...and best QB those couple years was Reggie Slack. They started about 8 different guys. The end of Cal Murphy's run. In 94 they went to Keith Woodside who was a washed up NFLer to replace Bryant for playoffs. I'm pretty sure Dunigan hated him, no chemistry anyway. Totally ****** up that offense which was one of best in CFL history for the playoffs.

Joe Flaherty dead at 82........ugh. One of the more underrated of that group that came up together around Toronto in the early 70s. There was a whole scene... kinda started with a production of Godspell.... Marty Short, Gene Levy, Paul Shaffer, Vic Garber.... and then of course Gilda, Candy, Flaherty and others. The seeds of SCTV and even SNL started back then. Flaherty was so so so funny... what a shame. 82 still feels too young.
